    We booked a trip for a property managed by Reese Mills. She is the manager of Destin Management Group LLC. She has a Real Estate License and is a Community Association Manager. Our total spent was $4,600. She sent only one email to let us know that the condo had sold and that she had no condos available for our dates. I asked for our money back and she said the money was already been "disbursed." I then researched her on line and very quickly found that the same events had happened to several other individuals who had booked with her. I then requested our money back or we contact an attorney at that point. She ceased contact with us. I have spoken to two other individuals that this has happened to and she will claim that we are "badgering or impatient." We have not received any refund from her. I would like to write a review to warn other families of this business. I see in the past a similar complaint was filed on the BBB and that she is not a member and brushed it off. I would hope that this review will come up however to warn others.

    Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/06/06) */ There are alot of incorrect facts stated on this case. Her rental was $3,270 and the remainder were in fees paid to **** including a service fee to them. This guest tried to cancel the day before her arrival and when she booked with **** she was asked repeatedly by them if she wanted to purchase Trip insurance and declined it, even though we were in the middle of a Pandemic. It clearly states on all my rental NO REFUND and she was also asked by **** if she was aware of this. I tried contacting her several times back in Feb. and she finally reached out to me months later and of course all my 3 bedrooms were booked by then. I have been in business 30 years and all my renters know my policies. I am in good standing with the DBPR and FREC. I have many great reviews and most of my guests are all repeats each year. The Terms and Conditions are in bold print and I will not issue a refund. I did cease communication with her when she threatened me with an Attorney, so I turned it over to my Attorney and was directed to not communicate with her further. Blasting me on FB will land her a slander suit if she isn't careful. . I did try to work with her, if she would have emailed or called as requested back in Feb. and not months later. Thank you Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/06/08) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I never canceled the trip. That's the issue that we have with this complaint really. Even when I had Covid, I was going to send my husband and other children as they were well and I had quarantined. My husband works away and our oldest daughter was at college. Ms Mills is the one that told me to go ahead and not come. As written in the message from her through ***** I did say I preferred it would be moved and she did report that she would. She has repeatedly said that I canceled it when never did I communicate that with her. That is my biggest complaint. If it could not have been moved, then my husband would have used the trip. I was told by **** they were unsure if trip insurance would cover a condo being sold and bookings not honored. She only contacted me once through email and I never received any voicemails. As far as "slander" on Facebook? I only left a review. I chose to write this review after reading about another two other families with a similar story where the owner sold the condos and previous bookings were not honored. I don't have time to play this back and forth game.
