    Pattern of Complaint:

    Our files contain a pattern of complaints from consumers that allege BWT Group, LLC. dba movewheels.com employs bait and switch tactics to engage consumers in auto transportation contracts. Specifically, consumers complain that although they are promised one price by company representatives, and are told that this price is the final price for all transportation costs, after the contract is signed consumers report that the company charges them additional fees and that the price the consumer agreed to originally was only an estimate of the cost. Additionally, consumers allege that the company fails to honor the terms and conditions agreed to by the consumer, especially with regards to date and times promised by the broker. 

    On December 8, 2017, BBB sent correspondence to BWT Group, LLC. dba movewheels.com requesting their voluntary cooperation in resolving complaints on file with BBB and providing steps it will implement to eliminate the pattern of customer complaints.

    BWT Group, LLC. dba movewheels.com replied with the following statement:

     

    In your letter you referred to the problem that exists across the entire freight and auto transport market- prices cannot be guaranteed until confirmed by the carrier. In our contracts we clearly state that all prices are estimated and are a subject to confirmation to the carrier.


    Due to the nature of the market additional details often emerge. Vehicles are sometimes different than what customers described (modified, loaded,  with household items, inoperable), locations might be a lot more distanced from main routes and harder for a truck to access than indicated by the customer, among others.


    Brokerage companies like ourselves usually take most of the blame should anything go wrong with the shipment.


    We provide estimates to customers based on previous shipping records on their routes and similar vehicles in our database, most of the time these estimates are automatically calculated in our system. We always state the price is an estimate and has to be confirmed by the carrier. Once the driver is found we process the final confirmation with the customer and process the final confirmation with the customer and confirm final conditions prior to assigning the driver and sending him to pickup location.


    We would like to underline that we are shipping approximately 1400 vehicles per month amd most of the times estimated prices match the final rates. Variations, when they exist, can be both up-and-down-sides. However, we never hear complaints when customers end up with a confirmed rate that us lower than the initial estimate. We are constantly working on improving our rate calculator to increase the accuracy of our estimates.


    Customer always has the option to cancel the contract, we never charge or authorize the customer’s credit card until we have a final confirmation from customer and carriers assigned to the order. Price never changes after final contract is signed and rate is confirmed. It’s a standard practice in freight and car shipping industry-to sign preliminary estimated contracts and finalize the deal once driver is ready to be assigned to the order.


    Customers don’t often understand how the process of the car shipping industry works. As you see we were getting complains for vehicles damaged by drivers, even though we clearly indicate and explain that after pick up that carrier is totally responsible for the vehicle and claim needs to be made to the carriers insurance company and we are happy to assist with that.


    Customer satisfaction is very important to us and we are are ready to do what it takes to lower the number of complains.

    BBB Serving Northeast Florida & The Southeast Atlantic has discovered that BWT Group, LLC. dba movewheels.com offers incentives to customers to provide reviews on their company. It is against BBB policy to accept reviews from individuals that have received payment or incentives to provide a review. BBB Serving Northeast Florida & The Southeast Atlantic  believes that this practice began on or about July, 16, 2016.  Furthermore, non-disclosure of incentivised customer reviews is inconsistent with the BBB Code of Advertising and FTC Endorsement Guides. BBB Serving Northeast Florida & The Southeast Atlantic has removed reviews that were submitted to BBB on or after July 16, 2016  and has ceased publishing and accepting customer reviews while BBB Serving Northeast Florida & The Southeast Atlantic attempts to resolve this issue with BWT Group, LLC. dba movewheels.com.


    BBB requested consumer contracts for BWT Group, LLC. dba movewheels.com customer review submissions. When the business provided the contracts in question, the pricing and shipping information included the following statement:


    $Price  ($75 will be covered by MoveWheels.com according to the rebate programme and the customer’s obligation is to leave 3 positive feedbacks)

    In addition, a consumer provided BBB an email from a BWT Group, LLC. dba movewheels.com representative which stated the following:

It will be activated once my manager confirms two positive feedbacks from you on these webpages. If you will leave more than 2 positives, it will be $75 discount.

      I reached out to this company to transport a vehicle for me from *******, Tx to Memphis, TN. This company keeps giving me the run around. 2 times they have held funds for a deposit and sent contract that I signed . They have no upheld their end of the contract neither time. I receive no phone call to advise me of the cancellation of the driver on those 2 occasions. Now today again I am getting the run around . This company is a scam or just don’t care

      We had two carriers assigned to pick up your vehicle. The first carrier supposed to pick up the vehicle on 01/26/2022, carrier company name: Trans Logistics Union LLC.As you can see on the dispatch sheet, the vehicle still shows as dispatched to them, because they never updated us about their intention to cancel the pickup they just started ignoring our calls. So we couldn't simply get any update from them. Nevertheless, this carrier company has a good rating on the National Board so we still trying to figure out on the reason with them. After all confusion with this carrier, we assigned another one for pick up on 01/28/2022, carrier company name : Safeway Trading & Services LLC. As you can see they cancelled the order after your shipping agent left the office for weekend. We always have customer support department working on weekend, so if there is any questions, you are free to call our main line and some of them will try their best to assist with all your questions. According to the text messages, your shipping agent was in touch during the week and responsive. We do apologize for the inconvenience with the carrier companies and that it has happened twice with you. We are a company in between carrier and customer as a broker and we can't influence on the carrier companies from our side. So we were trying to do the best from our side. You notified your shipping agent that willing to proceed with another broker company to ship your vehicle, so your order was cancelled without any fees applied. Thank you for understanding.

      I bought their service on October 1. ***** tried to help me, and they picked up my car. They said their truck broke down on the way and they did not keep me updated efficiently. I called the truck driver and ***** who was helping me at this company, however, it was difficult to get any information. Then they said the delivery will be delayed three days. I paid the amount to be delivered within that time frame and they did not even offer compensation. On top of that, which is worst out of everything, they drove my car from the point where their truck was broken down. I know it based on the mileage and my EZ pass reports. I had also asked them to take off the EZ pass transponder, but they did not. I paid 150 dollars in tolls as it got charged as a commercial truck. Then, ***** was supposed to help me with this to get the information about the person and everything, but he never answered my phones and or text messages. They never offered any type of compensation nor any help after I got my car.

We reviewed your complaint and all information we have in the system for communication from our shipping agent side, carrier company dispatch information/notifications and payment details. Your shipping agent was in touch all the time according to the text messages apart from the time when he had Covid and wasn't working for a few weeks as updated before via text messages. He was receiving text to the cell number, so nobody else could assist with them. If you have any questions after hours or when your agent is not available, you can always contact our support department and they will be happy to assist! 
      We attached the contract signed with You as a Customer. In the paragraph "7. Cancellations and Fees" It's written: "1. If Client's vehicle is not picked up within 5 business days from the first available date Client can opt out of the contract with no penalties." - we require flexibility from the customer's side in order to schedule the carrier for pickup. Because of the way industry works, we are not able to guarantee the dates. We are a broker company and we communicate between sides to come to schedule what could work for each of the sides of the deal. In the next paragraph "8. Terms & Conditions" it's indicated: "3. BWT GROUP agrees to provide a reliable and insured carrier to transport vehicle(s) as promptly as possible in conformance with Client's instructions but cannot guarantee pickup and/or delivery on specific date or time. The client may request pick updates but understands that while BWT GROUP will do all that can be done to meet Client's requests, due to the nature of the industry, such as dates can only be requested and not guaranteed. ... BWT Group shall not be held responsible for loss or damages occasioned by delays of any kind or for any reason. ...". The carrier company provides us with estimated pick up and delivery dates which gives them availability to pickup/deliver the vehicle within that day or +/- 2 days according to the dispatch sheet instructions on the National Board "******************** where we confirm the carrier for schedule. The Carrier company delayed the projected day of delivery. We as a broker company don't have influence on the carrier company for them to refund money you requested for the delay and tolls received, unfortunately. But what we are trying to do all this time with this carrier is to communicate with them and our claim department works on that since the delivery with your shipping agent. We charged a broker fee of $150 after the vehicle was picked up and because we understand your frustration as a Client we refunded you the deposit charge from our side in full.       I hired movewheels to transport a vehicle from Minnesota to Colorado. The agreement to picked up on the 18th and dropped on the 20th. No pick up the 18th. I called and was sent to voicemail, I called back call answered called me by name and hung up. 19th still no pick up again no answer so I emailed. I got a call the morning of the 20th (day it was supposed to be in Colorado) I was told they could not find a carrier for the vehicle. After I informed them I had other shipping options suddenly they could pick the car up that afternoon and I agreed as long as they could have the car to me by the 22nd. The car not picked up. the 21st I called again no answer. I sent an email at 5pm the 21st that the shop the vehicle is at will be closing soon and I need to know if they were still coming. I got a phone call back saying they were there... they were not. finally they picked it up late on the 21st. I received a call back finally that night saying they would have the car to me the next night. I know its a 14 hour drive so of course I asked how that was possible. I was then told it would for sure be here on the morning of the 23rd. It was not here the morning of the 23rd. Even after they called me at 830 am telling me it would be there in 25 minutes. I was given a number to the transport. The dispatch gave me the drivers number to speak directly with him. After speaking with the driver I found that he was in Nebraska with my car and his agreement with movewheels was to drop the vehicle the following week. After speaking with 3 members of the actual transport companay I was told movewheels has a habit of doing this to customers (check the 88 other complaints). I called ******* at movewheels who tried to blame the transporter and then told me we hadn't agreed upon the morning even after I pointed out that I have an email conformation. I asked ******* to meet me halfway on the price of the move he refused. I am now asking for help coming to a resolution

      Thank you for contacting MoveWheels! We do apologize for any misunderstanding. We will be happy to assist with any questions you have. According to the signed contract, paragraph "7. Cancellations and Fees" it's written: 1. If Client's vehicle is not picked up within 5 business days from the first available date Client can opt out of this agreement with no penalties (1 page of the contract). We listened to the recordings of the conversations with your shipping agent and never heard him mentioning that the car would be picked up on the exact date until the vehicle was scheduled with assigned carrier who shipped the vehicle. Please, review attached document under the name "DispatchSheet-11" and "3064022 disp hist" - according to them you can see that the driver was scheduled for pick up on 10/21/2021 and delivery on 10/23/2021 on dispatch sheet and on Dispatch history you can see that there were no corrections made after the vehicle was accepted by the carrier. We believe, the carrier was trying to make him look better in your eyes and blamed us for the delay he caused. As for us updating you as a customer with the wrong dates before the vehicle was picked up, please review attached file under the name "3064022 email" - in the email your shipping agent sent to you, there are written the dates of pickup, drop off with some other details. The pick up date mentioned there is the same as in dispatch sheet, which are: 10/21/2021- for pickup; and 10/23/2021 - for delivery. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us.       I am rejecting this response because: ******* Verbally Guaranteed  me the vehicle would be there the 22nd! Then he guaranteed the morning of the 23rd that is Saturday the 6th day... *******'s guarantee never happened. Also the 18th day 1, the 19th day 2, the 20th day3, the 21st day 4, the 22nd day 5, the 23rd DAY 6!

      We listened to all recordings of conversation with our shipping agent, but the only thing we heard is that he mentioned: I can't guarantee the dates as a broker. If you have any recordings, could you provide them to us please? EW wouldn't be happy to resolve this issue and to prevent it in future if that happened. The shipping agent is not allowed and we couldn't say anything contradicting written confirmation he sent via email. Thank you.

      Oct 6th the business agreed to transport a vehicle within 1-2 days. Service was not rendered. I aksed to take the vehicle off the board since Movewheels could not transport the vehicle so other companies could pick this up. Movewheels was contacted on multiple occasions but ignored removing the vehicle off their board as a matter of revenge. I am incurring storage fees because of them.

      Thank you for contacting **************! According to the system your order was cancelled on 10/18/2021. It's the same day you requested to get it cancelled. Once the order was cancelled it gets automatically removed from central dispatch. Apparently, there were some technical issues and it got cancelled in the system, but wasn't removed from central dispatch for a few more hours. Neither of the shipping agents have access to the central dispatch directly so she was requesting one of the dispatcher to cancel listing. It was all resolved within a few hours.       I am rejecting this response because: Thank you for yor responce but it is misleasing. The first time I asked you to remove it was Friday, Oct 8th. Then I called 2 times on the week of Oct 11th and finally on Oct 18th when you finally removed it. Now you're calling on my phone harrasing me to remove my complain. Bad business, nothing else.

      I called movewheels transportation to get a quote on delivering a car from Maryland to Stoughton Massachusetts and they gave me a quote and I agreed for them to pickup and deliver the car to me. They said Monday the car will be picked up and I called them Monday Tuesday Wednesday multiple times and they didn’t know if the car was picked up and who picked it up. So I’ve been calling for 2 weeks I want my 150 dollars deposit and an apology because they play to many games. They always say the same thing I have to talk to my manger and call you back and they dont. I have all the Records emails phone numbers phone calls and I even know exactly what company picked up my car and dropped it off it’s definitely not move Wheels transportation. Please I need your help!!!

According to the information we have your vehicle was shipped by the carrier company we assigned, it's ****** 41 20 Leal Transportation Inc. We attached relevant dispatch sheet and dispatch history to confirm it. We have signed contract with you for $500. The contract is attached. The carrier company was assigned for $350 to be paid with COD (cash/certified funds upon delivery) and $150 of a partial deposit was charged to the card. The charge of $150 was made for the service provided. Please, let us know if you have any other questions. Thank you for your patience.

      We need to ship a vehicle from Colorado to Texas. We recieved a quote of $550 from this company to move our vehicle. We placed the order and were told that we would receive a call to coordinate the pickup. Once we finally recieved a call to scheudle the pick up, they told us that the price would actaully be $1,000. At that point, we said that we wanted to cancel our order and they said that they would then be charging us a $200 cancellation fee. So, they offered a low price to obtain our order, then gave us a new price before providing the service that was almost double what they quoted and then want to charge us almost half of what they quoted to provide no service.

Your shipping agent was working according to the contract. it is written in the paragraph "7. Cancellations and Fees " #12 that if we won't be able to find a carrier company for the original rate, we will provide the Client (you) with alternative options to your consideration and #1 states that Customer gives us 5 business days to find the driver to be able to opt out of the contract without the cancellation fees. It was just an option and it is fine not to accept it, the only question was that we were given a few days to get options and were notified about cancellation request before the available dates are over. We understand you as a Customer, we cancelled the order without any fees being applied. Thank you for your understanding!
