I contracted for a 2 bedroom move with a 26 foot box truck with a moving crew for an interstate move. One man in a broken down horse showed up. This man tried to double my rate saying it was a bad estimate. The estimate was based on a local move with exact contents. It was reviewed in detail with supervisor at Menards 2 days prior to move. When we were attempting to resolve the issues on the phone with the moving company, the driver left. Now they are saying I cancelled after the cancellation period and want me to pay anyway. It is clear exploitation and bait/switch tactics. I had to expend significant resources to clean up Menards attempt. Please do something about this company.

I am rejecting this response because I have already attempted to discuss this with the management to no acceptable resolution. This company is currently charging me for a service that they did not complete nor did they have any intention of completing the service. One man in a broken down trailer showed up for an interstate move. One singular man. I contracted for a crew and a box truck. Not one man and a trailer. He attempted to extort me by doubling my price. When I refused to change the price, he left. I did not ****** this contract but this contract was not completed. The owners of this company refused to take responsibility. They tried to pull a bait and switch. They are still charging me by the way for this and insisting they have a valid right to my money- for a service that not only did they not complete- they made extra work for me and extra difficulty for me. I should be charging them. Please do all due diligence on this company. Their word cannot be relied upon. And I will not be calling them to discuss anything. Please do not ask me to put myself in that position again. This company has harmed me and intends to continue harming me and you are asking me to put myself in harm's way.

I am rejecting this response because it is not satisfactory. They asked me to call them - that was the response. This company has outright harmed me and continues to try to harm me. I have a claim to charge back the money that I put on my credit card for this company- they outright lie to ************ in their response. They told *********** that I assaulted the driver. This is slander, an outright lie. This company needs action against them. Please help me. Please read over all the documents in this case and tell me what you need to do something about this company. Please help me. I am begging you.

I was quoted $1,582.43 to move the contents of a storage unit from ****** to ***********, ********* on March 6, 2025, by salesperson ******* ****. The quote was lower than the others I had gotten over the phone, so I agreed and paid a deposit of $672. The manager ****** ***** called me on March 11, and told me there was a mistake with the quote and the move would cost over $5,000, so I asked him to cancel the move and return my deposit. He said it was not possible to return my deposit. I told him I couldnt pay the higher price, and the move would only work at the quoted price. He agreed to honor the quoted price and emailed me a Bill of Landing for the move at the quoted price of $1,582.43. On the day of the pickup 3/15, the move ******* told me he would not take the load and that the move would now cost $3,000-$3,500. The *******, ****, and I called customer service and spoke to *** who told me that I could negotiate with the move ******* a price to move half the load. The ******* said that he could move half the load for an extra $700, plus some other fees. I declined that offer and before we could come to an agreement, the ******* left. I described the size and contents of the storage unit the same way to ******* as I did to ******, and to all the other moving companies who gave me quotes - that the floor was completely full, it was stacked an average of chest height throughout the unit, and that the contents included large restaurant equipment like a 6-burner stove/oven. They only sent one mover. Its hard to believe the move ******* ever intended to move the oven or other heavy equipment by himself. The quote should have been close to the final price, and when ****** told me that the quote wasnt even close to accurate, he should have let me cancel. It seems like a bait and switch to quote me about $1,000 less than any other moving company, then try to raise the price every step of the way after I pay the deposit. Id like them to return my deposit.

The date of the move was June 24, 2024.The price I was quoted was $5588.54, but I paid $8840.53.When I contacted Menards Moving and Storage, "*****" promised professional movers. When I asked how the price might increase, ***** assured me that only items as heavy as a piano would incur a "weight charge". The quote I was provided read, specialized bulky items such as: kayak, pool table, playground equipment, etc.. Despite reading negative reviews, I scheduled my move with them because of the price they were able to offer.Three days before the move, "*********" called me under the guise of ******************* and demanded more money from me because "the movers will charge me much more on the spot if my items require more space" than the quoted 900 cubic feet. When I told ********* that I needed more time to consider my options, he began yelling and telling me that I was going to lose my contract if I did not send the money right away. I sent the money so that my move would occur as scheduled, with 1100 cubic feet (8050 lbs). On the day of the move, a company called "Ship 4 U" arrived. They were not professional movers, as ***** had promised - they were a 2-star company with two day-laborers (they did not speak English and admitted they had recently moved from ************* when I spoke to them in Spanish upon arrival). Although I labeled my items from least to most heavy, they packed heavy items on top, throwing them around a rented Penske truck with little care. They then raised the price on the spot by about $3000 because of "bulky items" and because of an overpacked truck. I am disputing the heavy items and space used. When the items arrived, multiple were broken. The driver assured me that I shouldn't even bother claiming these damages, but I did and actually got some money back ($650.00 back from Ship 4 U, not from Menards). Afterwards, Menards ignored all of my calls, so I have not been able to submit a claim with them and try to get my money back.

This moving company increased the estimate from $3,800 originally to over $10,000. The extra charges in dispute are $800 for packing up the house, which they didn't do, we did it. And they added $3,000 for something they couldn't explain. They barely spoke english, they came January 23, 2025, 10 hours late and we couldn't call anyone. We had to get our furniture out of the house, so thought we could rectify when we reached ********. They called us 4 hours (we were told it would be 24hrs) before delivery and demanded the balance of $4,200 in cash or money order or they would not deliver and they would charge more money if they had to change the delivery date. It was a Sunday, January 26, but we managed to get MO's. We've called and left messages for six days now. I've talked to customer service three times and he couldn't explain anything. I also asked to talk to superviser twice and was told they would call, but they haven't.

I booked a potential long distance move with Menards Moving company based in **********, *** on 12/17/24. A sales associate named ******* ******* assisted me. He was so nice and helpful at first and I thought it was a great experience. However I decided not to move bc a job Id been hoping for came through. I called Michaels direct line which was provided to me in the original invoice email. I contacted ******* **** directly on both 12/18 and 12/19 to let him know I was no longer moving and asked to cancel the entire order. He told me on the phone on 12/19, still within the 48 hour window of permitted cancellation, that all was taken care of, my move order cancelled, and I would be refunded within 5-10 business days. ******* seemed so kind and helpful. He did not tell me however that an email stating I wanted to cancel was needed, and bc of that I was not refunded. I didnt find this out till over a month later, when a different sales associate, ******, texted me asking about any final details to my move. After having filed a dispute with my credit card company, then canceling the dispute bc they told me if I did, theyd refund me. But that was also a lie. Speaking with ****** on the phone, he threatened me with legal action, laughed at me and the situation, told me ******* had died in a horrible car accident and was off with the angels in Heaven. He literally said that to me. ******** contact info no longer works, the staff refuses to answer my calls or texts, mistreats, lies, and laughs at you. I trusted this company. I did everything I was under the impression I was supposed to do. ******* could have been transparent and honest with me our last phone conversation 12/19, and I believe he purposely didnt tell me this so that they could do this to me. I feel violated and betrayed by this company. I am literally in shock at the evil. There are also numerous very negative and nightmarish reviews and BBB complaints from people with similar experiences.

I am filing a complaint against Menards regarding a breach of contract and their refusal to issue a refund for services I did not receive. On 12.31.2024, I contracted Menards for moving services and was quoted a price of $1099.54. I provided the necessary details about my inventory, and the moving dates were scheduled for January 7th8th. However, the company failed to honor the agreed-upon dates. When I contacted the company, I was informed by Mr. **** that my inventory was larger than expected, and additional charges were demanded. I informed him that I had already agreed to a fixed price with the company and would not be paying more. Despite this, the company did not show up for the scheduled pickup, and when I tried to reach out for a resolution, I received no response. After repeated attempts to contact the company, I was told that my moving dates were rescheduled to January 17th18th without my consent. Additionally, I requested a refund of $1099.54 due to the breach of contract, but the company has refused to provide any refund.

I hired this company on Nov 9, 24, to move my 1 bedroom apartment from ********, **, to *******, **. I was given a final price of $1,795.00 and paid a 1/3 deposit of $643.33 immediately. I was never informed that if I did not "purchase enough square footage" I would either be charged more, or my belongings would be left behind. Fast forward to Nov 9 when their warehouse division reached out to confirm the move and make sure everything was all set. It was at this time I was informed about the necessity of purchasing more space. Suddenly my $1,795.00 move now became about $3400, but I had no choice but to follow through because I was to move in 3 days' time. I told the company during this call I did not appreciate the bait and switch tactic because they knew very well they have customers on the hook by waiting until the last minute to drop this sudden increase in charges on them. I pay an additional amount and was told my movers would arrive 11/11 between Noon-4pm. They finally arrived...at 530p.m. and I was then told I STILL hadn't bought enough space and now my move would cost nearly $5,300.00. Again, what choice did I have? I had to be out of my apartment that very night so I had to pay the amount. It was also at this very time when the truck was loaded up and all ready to go that I was informed I had to pay in cash...no credit cards. I had to pay with a CC because there was no choice. I was informed in my initial 11/9 call my belongings would arrive on Wed-Thu, 11/12-13. ****. It took 22 days, finally arriving on 12/3. Again, I had to pay cash and this time they refuse to take any CC, forcing me to get cash advances just to turn around and get a cashier's check. Again, I was NEVER told any of this during my initial sales call on 11/9. Upon receiving my belongings, my $2500 couch was severely damaged, and items were missing. All attempts to call customer service have been met with unanswered calls. Also, I was told I could insure my items for the actual amount.

It seems like you are just looking for some kind of excuse because you sent them away with all due respect. Send me pictures of what you got or give me a call on the phone. I have included photos taken that day, the truck had no livery or other way to verify they were in-fact a mover. I was not able to verify they were in-fact licensed to cross state lines for Hire. I ask them for identification and they could not produce any such information. I called ******** and got not response at that time. I ask the driver to wait for a moment while I called the Police, to verify they were in-fact legitimate authorized movers. I went in the house to get paper to write down some information and when I di they drove away. Since then I have been told I would get a refund. Now  Menards has told me it in not their responsibility. I have been unsuccessful contacting the company Menards gave me phone numbers for. This is very Deceitful. Menards was insistent on collecting money through cash transfer. They would not take credit cards, I assume because they want to remove the layer of protection for the customer.  I files a complaint with the *****, but because I was smart enough (in their words to not allow them to take my belongings and it is not a safety issue they could not handle that complaint. FL state attorney's office) (Where Menards is based ) explained that while they see deceptive practice from Menards I would have to file my complaint locally. Local small claims court states it would be a long arm law suite. That would be pricey, I am still considering despite the expense to enact some type action. I believe this company bares the responsibility to properly vet the sub contracted carrier.
Mr. ******, response was to reject responsibility, and offered a phone number where the mail box is full and will not take messages. If I call the company they do not answer. They do not offer a way to have my money returned and any way to have resolution with the vendor (************) The claim to broker business to or associating themselves with. Menards collected out money and did not make good on their responsibility in the transaction and did not vet the company they deal with.
So I reject the premise that Menards is a legitimate Moving Broker.
I have attached pictures of the pickup truck and enclosed car trailer the showed up to move us with not signage or apportioned plates identification or anything to suggest they were movers.
    Sincerely,

I am rejecting this response because: I made repeated calls the mail box is full, when calling the main number for the company I am always told they will not refund any money then they past off responsibility to the company they passed off the contract to that I did not deal with.

I get.a.respomce.througj the BBB that is insulting, stating facts the are not true Menards would not accept credit cards for transactions. This tactic to keep responding with false information is just not satisfactory.

I have stayed the facts, and attached the pictures. There is no further explanation. Menards should Vet their subcontractor more carefully in order to ensure the legitimateacy of the sub contractors at a minimum. All I am looking for is a refund for the unfulfilled service.

Or list this company's issues so others don't fall prey to their short comings. I am not saying they committed fraud, but they are negligent in their practices but hiring bad sub contractors.

    Sincerely,

Dear Better Business Bureau,I am writing to file a formal complaint against ****** Moving. I contracted them for a move and paid an $850 deposit. When I decided to cancel the service, they refused to refund my deposit, citing that I was outside of the cancellation window. However, when I later reached out to them, I was essentially ignored for an entire month, with no response to my repeated ************ wasnt until I filed a complaint with the BBB that ****** Moving finally responded. At that time, they claimed I was outside of the cancellation window by just five hours. While I understand there may be cancellation policies, the total lack of communication and refusal to offer any flexibility for such a small margin was frustrating.Furthermore, when I expressed my dissatisfaction with their handling of the situation and mentioned that I would be pursuing further action, one of their representatives resorted to unprofessional behavior, including name-calling, which was completely unacceptable. The overall customer service experience I received from ****** Moving was highly unprofessional, and I am left feeling both scammed and disrespected. I am requesting a full refund of the $850 deposit, as well as an apology for the unacceptable treatment I endured.Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your prompt assistance in resolving this issue.
