My family and I went to dinner at the beaches last night. Paid for our parking, put the printed receipt in our windshield to show proof of payment and went in for dinner. Not even an hour later, we come out expecting our car to be there. It was not. **** towed our car under wrongful terms. We had our 5 year old and our 3 year old with us and needed to get our car to get home. After calling and speaking to someone on the phone I was instructed to go to the beaches office and was told someone would be out there to get our car out. When we arrived through ****, all gates were chain locked and no one in sight. We call again and they tell us theyll send a driver out but itll be up to an hour. Mind you, I have my CHILDREN with me. They make us wait an hour outside of the gates, no one has shown up. We call again and they tell us an order for a driver was never dispatched but they would put it in now and told us that itd be up to ANOTHER hour. I would have never gone to the office if I knew that I would arrive to no one on sight and a locked gate. They intentionally put us in an unsafe situation and when a driver finally arrived, was incredibly rude and unsympathetic. Even though we PAID for our parking spot we were towed and they still made us pay $161 to get our car out of the lot. This place doesnt deserve ANY stars let alone to be in business.Business response

Good Morning, I have looked into this concern and found that the customer was parked in a Paid parking lot and License plate was not listed in the Database provided by the "Pay By Phone Company". We are contracted with the company to remove any vehicle who are in violation based on the database provided for verification of vehicle parking. However it could be a system error, if you are willing to provide confirmation of parking so we can further look into the matter. . Thank you.

My daughter and niece parked at a strip mall on ******* ****** **, on Good Friday, 2024. They stepped off property to go to atm at bank adjacent, returned in minutes and went into two separate stores in the strip mall. They walked out, only to find there car gone. Upon going to ASAP Tow off **** ******, we were told the girls were observed stepping off property. We were told at moment of stepping off property, regardless of return, they had legal right to tow. We tried to reason with the manager, which clerk put in phone. He gave no mercy and said he was disconnecting. We had no choice but to pay; because of police family in area, they dropped price from 160ish to 145ish. It was unethical and wrong. We went into one shop to ask for video of proof tgis were there, but that store would not get involved. I posted concerns on all the stores yelps. The girls were watched, it felt targeted. Possibly stalking. We also reported the event to ** **** ** *********** * ******** services. I suggest anyone with concerns do the same. We really have no proof, so the unethical guys won over us.Business response

Per property's request, our trucks were on site March 29, 2024 at ******* ***** ******** ***** located at ******* ***** ** ******* ****** ** *****. It is a large shopping plaza (which fills up quickly) directly across the street from not only the beaches but also multiple stores, shops, restaurants and boutiques in the area. The plaza continuously on a daily basis has people who park and walk to enjoy a day at the beach or shopping along the strip. This particular day was Good Friday and also Easter weekend, so they were experiencing a higher than usual number of violators parking and leaving their vehicles leaving them with less parking to provide for their paying patrons shopping in their specific plaza. The two young girls were seen parking and leaving property. They were NOT seen returning. The initial picture of complainants' daughter's vehicle was taken at 12:53 (photo is time stamped). The driver did not arrive until 1:28 pm. It does take a minimum of at least 15 minutes to hook and secure/strap down a vehicle before being able to safely tow away. That would make it a total of 50 minutes before vehicle was even removed from the property. The vehicle was towed 4 miles to our storage facility and the call was completed at 1:51 pm. We called the complainant's daughter's vehicle in to ******* ***** ****** Dept. at 1:45pm and no one had even called on said vehicle. At 4:19 (nearly 4 hours later) is when the owner came to yard and the vehicle was released. In good faith a discount was applied. Not for allegedly claiming a family member is police but, in an attempt, to deescalate the situation as the mother who was not out with them, however, was adamant that her daughter had only been gone minutes to atm (a stone's throw away) and to return to shops then moments later in parking lot to find her car towed all within 20-30 minutes. The vehicle was legally towed, and we are not issuing a refund at this time.Customer response

I disagree with the response from ASAP Towing. Unfortunately, unless I invest money in a legal firm, they can do as they want and can keep their notes accordingly. Maybe enough people will complain to them and their constituents to influence their practices.Initial Complaint

ASAP towing has a predatory tow contract with a strip mall in *************. I was in one of the restaurants in that center, my son and friends parked the vehicle and exited to go to an adjacent restaurant (not within the strip mall). Less than 15 minutes later we reconvened to discover our vehicle had been towed. The operator had no concern for the facts, he said he witnessed people leave the parking lot when I asked if he saw me inside the strip center restaurant he said it didnt matter where I was. I said it absolutely matters thats my vehicle registered to me and WAS my transportation home.he was more interested in giving me a lecture which I dont need and collecting 160 in cash.Business response

ASAP TOWING DOES NOT DO "PREDATORY TOWING". WE HAVE A LEGAL AGREEMENT WITH PROPERTY OWNER TO *** ANY VEHICLE WHERE "THE DRIVER" PARKS AND WALKS OFF PROPERTY LEAVING VEHICLE BEHIND. READING THE COMPLAINTANTS STATEMENT, THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED. WE ARE NOT PRICE GOUGING; THE ***** THAT WE CHARGE ARE NOT OF OUR OWN MAKING AS THE ***** ARE MANDATED BY THE CITY. WE ARE WELL WITHIN REASONABLE DISTANCE FROM THE LOCATION OF THE *** AND PROVIDE EXTENTED HOURS OF OPERATION TO ENSURE A QUICK RELEASE OF VEHICLES. UNFORTUNATELY, WHEN "THE DRIVER" OF THE VEHICLE PARKED IN THE ***** MALL AND WALKED OFF PROPERTY LEAVING VEHICLE BEHIND THAT MADE THE VEHICLE SUBJECT TO BEING ***ED. WE WILL NOT BE ISSUING A REFUND AT THIS TIME.Initial Complaint

We parked our car at one of the parking spots of a restaurant. The place is called ** ***** ***** at *** ******** ****, ******** ***** *** *****. That was on 11/24/2023 at 4:30pm. We have a receipt for the purchase. A few minutes later, the car was towed to one of the ASAP locations. When I called the towing company they advised me to come to pay $150 to get the car back. When I arrived to the place at *** ***** ** **, ************ ****** ***** the employee could not explain why the car was towed. And asked me to call or come back after the weekend for a manager to explain why the car was towed!! While I was speaking to her another employee who is a driver stepped in to the office and I asked him why the car was towed, in the beginning he claimed that he didn’t towed it then he told me the car was parked in spot which was not one of the assigned spots. Then he showed me three pictures on his phone where the car is parked clearly between two white lines and some yellow lines were in the next spot. I told him that the pictures show the car was parked in the right spot, then he couldn’t explain why he towed the car. He insisted that I have to pay to get the car without any explanation for the towing. I spoke with law enforcement and they explained that nothing they can do in this case and I have to contact you to solve this issue. The law enforcement officers told me that they received this complaint a lot about this location and unfortunately they couldn’t do anything about it. Can you please warn others about this scam of this ASAP location, And help me to get my money back? Thank you very muchBusiness response

On November 24, 2023, we observed an unauthorized parking space being utilized by a 2014 Toyota Camry *** * *****************. This area is marked with lines going across to keep people from parking there as if they do it blocks the access for customers who are there to use the bank/ATM. This rectangle is not one or two, but a total of 4 spaces clearly marked forming this rectangle in the middle of the parking lot to deter people from blocking access to the bank or ATM . As I understand the complainant was a patron of the restaurant which was within the same parking area, he was also clearly in violation of parking unauthorized in a non-parking zone/area. Therefore, that is the reason for the tow. The tow was authorized and well within legal limits of being towed. We will not be issuing a refund at this time. Please see the attached photo for your review.

Regarding Complaint: ********
My response was not recorded on the complaint.
I won’t accept the response because the picture sent doesn’t match what they stated at all. The lines on the parking lot seem faded completely. No one can tell from the picture. Their claim doesn’t make any sense except they just tow the car to make money.
The business owner and the landlord agreed completely that the were no clear lines on this area of the parking lot.Initial Complaint

On 3/12/2023 my family was participating in an organized vendor pop up at Jax Beach. As parking was already full we just parked our car temporarily in a close by restaurant to unpack and finish setting up our display. As we crossed the street not 50 ft. from our vehicle I notice a tow truck zoom into the parking lot. I immediately ran over to the car and tried to signal to the driver to stop but as I was doing so the driver of the tow truck backed into my vehicle so fast I had to jump onto the tow truck to avoid severe damage to my legs. The driver then proceeded to exit the truck screaming profanities and then shoved me off the truck and continued to threaten violence as I was just trying to not have my car towed. The driver then forced me to pay him $80 to drop my car while continuing to insult me and my family as well as bystanders to the incident. I was not provided a receipt from the driver as he immediately drove off, never having my car even attracted to the truck. I have since attempted to contact the company multiple times but they continue to not address the issue. I have attached a police report of the incident as well.Business response

In regard to this incident, the complainant was parked on private property during an event at the beaches. Our customers at the beaches have limited parking for their customers, so when non-customers park on their property we provide a service to tow them away. Our driver had backed up and attached to the vehicle. Before the driver could see the man running from across the street he leaped onto the truck and demanded his vehicle be dropped. The driver advised the complainant of the drop fee of $67.24. The complainant became very aggressive and verbal with the tow driver. The complainant then gave the driver cash for the drop fee and said repetitively "Get the **** out of there". The driver could not speak as the complainant would not allow him to. Our driver then left the parking lot as to not get into a more advanced altercation. The tow was valid, and the complainant was illegally parked on private property.
