My husband and I joined Crunch in Jan. when they had a deal going on to join for 25 cents with no enrollment fee and no 1st month due. Husband decided to do the base membership with 1 year commitment. I was going back & forth between base & peak. I asked what would happen if I did the peak (so I could do group classes) to start and wanted to change it to base in the future. I was told I could make that change after 2 months. So, I did the peak membership. I went in on 3/23 to change my membership to the base plan (never did any group classes). I was told that I could make the change, but would now have to pay the enrollment fee of $75. I asked why would I have to pay the enrollment fee. One, Im already enrolled as a member. Two, when I signed up and became a member there was a no enrollment fee special going on. Three, no one said I would have to pay the fee if I changed it after two months. I spoke to Gen *** **** on 3/24 and explained everything. He said I would have to pay the $75 enrollment fee if I changed membership levels. His reasoning is the base membership normally has an enrollment fee, while the peak does not. He said if there was a current no enrollment fee special, I could change with no fee. I asked if I paid it, would he put a $75 credit on my account to cover it. He said no. I asked who else I could speak to. He said he would call the franchise owner and see what he said. On 3/26 they ran a "join for 3 cents and get 30 days free" special. I went in and spoke to **** again. Now he is saying he still can't change it. My option, according to him, is to cancel, rejoin, and then repay the $75 annual feel I just paid 2 weeks ago. I asked what owner said and he said owner told him to handle it.

I went in person to cancel my membership two months ago and they said they canceled it. I have been charged two months more than they said even though I specifically told them I was moving out of town. They have not resolved my issue still and it is not in good faith,

I joined Crunch Fitness only because they promised me that I could cancel my contract anytime. At the end of October 2022, I went in to cancel due to my work schedule and my kids’ schedule. They cancelled in person, and informed me I would be charged for November because I came in too late. I said no problem. Today I checked my statements and they are charging me for December. On top of the membership charge, they are charging me for kids’ care. I sent an email asking them to make sure my membership was cancelled and to refund me my money. They emailed back stating I was in a “90 day contract” and therefore are charging me for December. This is news to me because they told me it was cancelled as of November 1st, 2022. They never emailed me to inform me of this “90 day contract.”
