Non responsive and have my $7500 deposit cashed. Dropped off the material and dumpster 3 weeks ago with material and was told they would start next day. They just came to pick up empty dumpster without doing any work. Now I just have material in my driveway with no response

Honest *** does not pay their subcontractors. My company did over $108k in installation work for the ************, ** and *************, ** locations. It has not be over 30 days and we have only received a small portion of what is owed and the company is non-responsive or they tell you to expect payment that week but do not pay. Do not do work for this company.

They gave me an estimate on what it would cost to repair a leak on the flat part of my roof. The estimator checked the entire roof and said the main roof and chimney area were good for a least another 5 years. The estimate was for $1850 to repair the flat roof. I signed and initialed several pages and agreed to let them do the repairs. According to the estimator all forms would be emailed to me from the office prior to work being started. This never happened. Once they started the work on the roof the ** called stating the repairs were going to be doubled what I was quoted. Apparently because there were ISO boards that needed to be replaced and they could only be special made and ordered. The estimator knew they were there. He never mentioned they would need to be replaced. It was not on the quote. I told them to fix what they had torn out and to get off my property. He said he would knock $400 off the bill for my inconvenience. Forget the fact they didn't repair what the quote said. I was then informed that if I refused to pay I would be turned over to a collection agency and eventually they would put a lien on my property and would own it. I called another roofing company to come out and look at what they had done. They told me they did a good job, but forgot to cement down a section of the repair. They said the part that the quote said was leaking had not been touched and it wasn't necessary to have ISO Boards custom made, but some roofers prefer it. Since I was told they did a good job on repairing what they tore up, I decided to go ahead a pay them the $1450 they said I owed. I personally think that was still too high. I would have gladly paid half of the original quote, $925. I mailed the check yesterday. Email I got this morning: "Hi ****, we still have not received the payment of $1,450. Will you be paying that today? Because if not we will unfortunately be filing the lien paperwork with our attorney tomorrow morning." The work was done on 3/14.

We are sorry to hear you had a bad experience. We repaired the roof that you were quoted $1850 for and you only paid $1450. As a contractor when a customer agrees to pay you then refuses the only recourse we have is to file lien. We absolutely do not want to do that but will when someone owes us money after we have rendered our services. In our experience competitors are just that and reaching out to them about another roofing company is like reaching out to **** to ask is ***** is the best.

I work for Honest Abe ********************* This is a response to **********'s review. We installed the color as agreed upon in the contract. Unfortunately, the color of the shingles did not exactly match the color printed in the brochure. The brochure displays a darker gray, whereas the real life shingles are a lighter shade. Due to the customer's dissatisfaction with the appearance of the new roof, we replaced the entire roof for FREE. No other roofing company would do that, guaranteed. During the re-install, our Field Manager opted not to replace the (still practically new) underlayment, and instead went over it with another layer. This was a mistake. After we confirmed with the city inspector that the underlayment needed to be replaced, we re-installed the roof again. We have no communications on file regarding any "defects," however we guarantee all our work and **** knows he is welcome to contact us with any issues he has. This is part of why I'm confused about the fact that he waited almost an entire year to post his review. We go above and beyond for all of our customers, and we went FAR above and beyond for ****. Any other roofing company would have told him to just deal with it and move on, if they responded to him at all. We did everything we said we would do and more. And despite the fact that we lost several thousands of dollars on this project, we never asked **** for a single ***** above what was listed on the contract. To say we are not honest is both disappointing and categorically false.

So we hired the company to replace our roof picked out the color. When the roof was completed the first time they had installed the wrong color. So they had to come back out and do a complete tear off. I just so happen to pull up when they were installing the correct color shingles and noticed that the underlayment was not replaced. I had questioned why they were not replacing the underlayment. I was told it was ok. I did research and found that it is not ok to leave the old down. I challenged the manager and he assured me that they did put down new underlayment. So I waited for the inspection and the inspector found that they DID NOT replace the underlayment. So here we are the third time for a complete tear off. I have to say that after the third tear off I still found defects and I personally marked out and shown the contractor the broken slats on the roof. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ROOF A DOG HOUSE. they are DEFINITELY not honest.

We are sorry to hear you had a bad experience. Yes we made a mistake but we did the right thing and re-shingled the house. You can go to the ********************'s permit search website *********************************** and see we did pass the final inspection and installed the job correctly. You are misinformed and making false statements. If you ever need help with that Dog House give us a call.
