Forced to pay $800 core charge for injectors (in person) before the obese female employee would release the injectors (I purchased over the phone) and said I shouldve known there was a core charge because they always charge it. Core charge was never mentioned prior to my picking up the injectors. Seems to be a shady practice based on reviews Ive read about diesellogic. Obese lady said I would get my deposit back when they received all 8 of the old injectors ($100 per injector core). I received $560 of my deposit back, yet I gave them ALL 8 injectors that came out of the engine (cores).Business Response

Mr. ********,
Your order was clearly noted on the day it was created as Advanced core, customer will bring cores when picking up. Our sales associate even went so far as to consult management to see if we could accommodate your preference to hold the $800 core deposit in cash, allowing for a quicker refund upon receiving your cores the following day. Your claim that the core charge was never mentioned is not only inaccurate but blatantly dishonest. Your conduct, including the vile comments directed at our associate who said nothing more than hello to you, and your choice to continue with personal insults of her in this formal complaint, speaks volumes. Given your behavior, its hardly surprising that you would attempt to manipulate the facts.
Regarding the core deposit deduction you ordered 7.3L AAinjectors, for the early model **** 7.3 engine, which require a $100 per injector core deposit as is customary with the vast majority of major automotive parts sold in the *************. The injectors you returned as core however, were 7.3L ABinjectors, which are for a later model 7.3L engine. Per our published core policy, this mismatch resulted in the standard $30 per injector deduction for cores that are not like-for-like as required. This could have been easily explained to you, and perhaps even a resolution reached, had you not chosen to verbally assault our associate the moment she answered the phone.
As for the desired resolution of your complaint being a billing adjustment that will not happen. Instead, please consider this your formal notice of trespass from our property. Furthermore, by your own admission, the cores you returned came out of the engine, which confirms that the injectors you installed are not correct for your vehicle. Consequently, the warranty coverage for your 8 AA injectors must now be voided due to misapplication.
Have the day you deserve.

I am rejecting this response because: The obese lady only mentioned a core refund on the day the injectors were picked up. And the injectors that were given for the core were ALL out of the SAME 1995 7.3l **** engine.
Implying that everyone knows about this core charge would also imply that the person that gave me the number passed along that information, which would be incorrect because they did not. Core refunds are an ongoing problem with diesel logic and appear to be part of a shady marketing strategy. Florida law is very clear on this subject. I will proceed legally based on principle and my unwavering moral values to not let this happen to anyone else.Regards,

In my initial response, I believe we clearly communicated our position. Neither the company nor I personally are concerned with *** ********* rejection of our response, especially given the vile, inappropriate behavior he has exhibited toward our female associate on multiple occasions.
His claim that our standard core policy is misleading is unfounded. This policy is a well-established industry standard, particularly in the automotive parts sector. It would be extremely difficultif not impossiblefor *** ******** to find a company offering remanufactured injectors that does not require core returns.
Furthermore, it appears there was a third party involved in facilitating the transaction, as *** ******** himself indicated. If key information was not properly communicated to him, that responsibility lies with the intermediary. Any grievances regarding a lack of clarity should be directed toward that party, not Dieselogic.
Best regards,
*** *******Business Response

It is now understood that you were simply picking up the parts, and that Mr. ***** ***** was the one who facilitated the order process. We have no control over what Mr. ***** did or did not relay to you, though with absolute certainty, the core requirements were defined to him. Any issues you have regarding that should be taken up with him. The notion that the core requirement is somehow a shady marketing strategy is ludicrous. A core requirement is a well-established industry standard, it would be particularly difficult if not impossible for you to find a company offering remanufactured injectors that do not carry a core requirement. We hope that you will consider your unwavering moral values the next time you get the notion to verbally assault and berate a woman whos done absolutely nothing to you.

We purchased an injector kit from October 20th 2024. We followed the instructions exactly sending the core back in the original packaging as they required even though it cost more to send this way as the box was huge. The core refund was supposed to be $1000. We had to pay the shipping back to the company. They only refunded $920 dollars of the core that they were supposed to refund. I reached out to them in November asking why I did not get my full refund. The only response I received was a receipt showing the partial refund. I again attempted to reach out to them in December and did not receive any response at all from them.Business Response

The core refund for this order was deducted due to the core fuel pump arriving incomplete with missing fuel fittings. Core submissions must be complete and undamaged to receive full core credit as outlined in the published core policy. I have been unsuccessful at locating any emails or texts regarding this order since the original inquiry on 11/27, which admittedly was not responded to adequately. I do not have any record of any December communication as alleged. It’s quite unfortunate that you’ve chosen to submit a formal complaint to the BBB over your submission of an incomplete core when a single phone call to us would have addressed your concerns instantly.Customer Answer

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that I will accept the resolution. It is ridiculous that I had to resort to this to get a simple answer that had they responded timely to the emails and answered phone calls. I may have been able to find the missing piece and sent it back for the rest of the refund.

Business Name: Diesel Logic Date of Purchase: Thursday, October 17, 2024 Nature of Complaint: Failure to Issue Core Refund Description of Complaint:I purchased an injection pump from Diesel Logic ($1,025,99) on October 17, 2024, with the understanding that a core refund ($300) would be issued upon the return of the core component. After returning the core promptly and in accordance with their procedures, I contacted the company to confirm receipt. A representative from Diesel Logic responded via text, confirming that the core was received and that the refund would be issued. However, after waiting for two weeks without receiving the refund, I reached out again for an update. At that point, I received a call from ****, a representative from Diesel Logic, who informed me that an error had occurred on the part of someone on his team. He explained that the core was rusted and normally would not qualify for a refund. Despite this, **** assured me that, to honor the word of his employee and maintain customer trust, the refund would be issued the following week and asked me to make a positive review regarding the "solution" found for this matter, which I **********, December 9, 2024, more than seven weeks since the purchase and over a month since the core was returned, I still have not received the refund. Diesel Logic's lack of communication and repeated delays have caused unnecessary frustration and have eroded my confidence in the company. I seek immediate issuance of the promised core refund. If this matter is not resolved promptly, I am prepared to escalate it further through legal avenues, including filing a complaint with consumer protection agencies and pursuing action in small claims court to recover the amount owed.I request that Diesel Logic honor their commitment by issuing the core refund without any further delay and provide clear communication about the resolution of this issue.Customer Answer

Dieselogic is selling defective parts as new or reconditioned. Parts do not work. They also stole my core part that was returned to them via fedex tracking. They refuse to return my core turbine estimate value of $800.00. They also refuse to issue a core refund in the amount of $800.00. This is stealing of personal property. First they sold me a defective part for $2599.00. Then received my core part, and refused to pay for my core returned to seller. I’m now stuck I’m stuck with a newly purchased defective turbo, and no core turbo to send out for repair. So in total I’m out of approximately $3500.00. My truck is still not fixed. This is a very dishonest company. They claim to never have received all parts of turbo, but I have fedex tracking and pictures that states they received a complete turbo. I try disputing this issue with them, but they were not able to come to agreement. I’m not comfortable with sending new defective turbo back to Dieselogic. Because of the situation with core parts not be receiving by Dieselogic, even though in was signed for by someone at their company. This is not a trustworthy company to buy auto parts.Business Response

Mr. **** contacted us via text to seek assistance regarding an issue with the actuator on his new turbocharger. We advised him to consult a certified diesel mechanic as we cannot remotely diagnose a vehicle, and subsequently provided instructions to submit a warranty claim, and he indicated he would be returning the item. About a week later, we reached Mr. **** via phone regarding his core return that was received missing the actuator. Almost immediately, Mr. **** became irate and started cursing and calling us liars, even insinuating that he would physically come to our office to “handle this”. Despite our attempts to reason and provide photos showing the missing actuator, Mr. **** was adamant that we were lying and ended the call. After a short break, we reached Mr. **** via phone once more to attempt to reason with him and let him know that as an added measure, we would verify our security footage from the time we got the package the following day and would contact him once completed.
Our investigation confirmed the turbocharger was indeed received without the actuator. Mr. **** initially claimed the actuator was placed loose in the box but not bolted to the turbo when he sent it, which was unusual, but we were prepared to attribute the missing part to a shipping issue, as the package was somewhat damaged upon arrival. After leaving a voicemail attempting to provide Mr. **** with this update, we received a negative Google review, a payment dispute, and a BBB complaint from Mr. ****. Since then, we have attempted to reach Mr. **** multiple times without success, as our calls and messages have gone unanswered.
While we cannot confirm what happened to the actuator if it was sent, it is clear and factual that Mr. **** reported an issue with the new actuator, opted not to follow the warranty/return instructions provided, and his old turbocharger was received by us missing its actuator and we have received no further communication or request for assistance from him regarding his actuator issue.
Though our policy does not allow refunds on installed parts, we are willing to offer Mr. **** a refund for his turbocharger, minus the standard 15% restocking fee as outlined in our return policy that was agreed to by Mr. **** at the time his order was placed. Any refund, however, can only be issued upon receipt of the complete item as originally ordered.Customer Answer

There’s no need to argue back-and-forth with this company. It’s plain and simple , Dieselogic It’s not a trustworthy company. Why would I send anything back to them if they claimed they didn’t even receive my core? I would rather do a small court claim than to engage an operation with liars.Initial Complaint

I sent an injection pump in for warranty and it's been 32 days since Dieselogic received it. When I contact them by email or text , since they won't except phone calls all I hear back is we will contact you. They don't mind taking your money but if the problem is on them you get nothing. I've been an ASE certified mechanic and service manager for 40 years and never had this much problem with a pump. Come on people it's an injection pump, either give me a good one or send my money back so I can fix the vehicle. I would not recommend anyone doing business with Dieselogic.Business Response

I shipped back my item unopened by priority mail, don't hear anything for 2 weeks, I emailed them, asked them, when can I get my money, they emailed back saying I was scheduled for a refund another week later on the 23rd, well today is the 23rd at 8 24pm Pacific time and my refund didn't happen, so I call there number as after hours hoping to leave a message, but they continue the game by saying that they have a special team called the sit team that monitors pending refunds and you can't leave them a message the only way to contact them is on their website, well I couldn't get there sit team, must be a big problem If they have a whole team that doesn't actually issue refunds but monitors pending refundsBusiness Response

Date of transaction is august 25th 2023. The order number is ******. I had bought injectors and cp3 pump as a kit, the pump seems to work fine but I had the injectors installed for 2-3 hours before truck had an absurd amount of white smoke coming from the exhaust and would not restart. I had them removed and brought them to Injection Technology Diesel in Iowa (************) to get tested. The results were all but two injectors failed 1 of them was stuck open causing the white smoke and no start, while 2 of them had fuel leaking around the nozzle retaining nut and 3 didn’t pass emissions. I’m more concerned about the injectors that were leaking fuel into my oil and the other being stuck open. I have paper work for all of it and even sent a copy back to Deiselogic with my injectors to get warrantied. Their response was all the injectors are functional and useable, which is incorrect or I would not be having this problem. I paid them $2,800 for the injectors and cp3 but the cp3 is good as far as I know. I sent them the original paperwork that showed which two were leaking so I don’t remember what number those were but I’m positive it was injector number 2 that was stuck open, the injection shop had labeled all the injectors to the cylinder they were in. And all fuel lines were replaced and extra filtration lift pump was installed prior to installing the injectors.Business Response

The injectors we received for warranty evaluation had pitting in the nozzles that could not possibly happen in 1 day of driving without an extreme engine fault or combustion blow-by occuring. The injectors were clearly cleaned/scrubbed, likely to remove excessive carbon build up, i.e. evidence of combustion blow-by which would be the cause of the aforementioned pitting of the injector nozzles. The pitting was caused by stress from overheating the metal, which could only happen from blow-by or a separate engine failure. Combustion blow-by occurs when the injector does not seal against the injector seat in the cylinder head. The main cause of combustion blow-by is improper injector installation. Combustion blow-by issues are not due to any type of material or workmanship defect and are not covered under the Dieselogic warranty policy. The “functional and usable” verbiage that was mentioned refers to us returning repaired injectors to you. While the repair is not covered under warranty because it was not due to any manufacturing or material defect with the injectors, we understand that you need working injectors so necessary repairs are performed. The testing fee you were invoiced for submittal of the non warrantable parts covers those repairs. We will have an associate reach out again and attempt to resolve this matter.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: I would swear on the Bible they were in my truck for less than a day and they came out looking the same as they went in, I have no reason to lie, I wish I didn’t have to do this. The injectors I had sent in for cores definitely had carbon build up so you are probably mistaking it for them and like I said I knew you guys would try and lie because of all the other BBB reviews I saw so I had them tested at Injection Technology Diesel Service in Iowa and sent the paperwork with the injectors when I sent them back to Dieselogic, they did reach out to me saying they would refund me but I guess that was a lie too. I will never buy from them again and will be making sure all my friends and Facebook groups don’t either.

I purchased an injection pump and was charged for core and tax on the core When they received my core they reimbursed me for the core but not the tax on the core, originally After much badgering they reimbursed for the tax they never should have collected in the first place. After sending back the non working pump that I paid delivery charges to and back from them when thy sent me back the same non working injection pump After dealership and another professional mechanics agreed that pump was in deed bad Dieselstupidity reimbursed me for returned pump but refuses to give me back my core or the value they set on a core so when I went to a competitor I had to pay for a core because Dieselstupidity kept mine. Hello,
The order in question took place over 2 years ago. I cannot speak to what has been said or took place back then as all I have are order notes to go by. It appears there was a warranty dispute where we ultimately settled on returning the product for a refund. After a thorough investigation, it appears that no core pump was returned to *** ******* as it should have been considering that the return/refund essentially cancelled out the order and we would have needed to return the pump originally issued as core. I apologize for what is clearly a very long and frustrating experience where we seemingly dropped the ball. I have located a core pump to be returned to you and will be processing a shipment to you within the next 24-48 hours. Please accept my sincerest apologies for the length of time and frustration it has taken to resolve this matter for you.
