I brought my fiance in for a visit due to her being pregnant and bleeding the first doctor who came into the room was AWEFUL he did no test or anything besides press on her stomach and then says "it's a natural abortion" and leaves the room. Not only was that original "diagnosis" completely wrong but the way it was delivered was the worst possible way you could imagine once he left the room the nurse came in who was amazing and she revealed the information that the doctor refuses to even use computers or look at previous information we had gotten earlier that day from **************************************************. Once the nurse got all the information from the computer she told the doctor that we should do an internal and external ultrasound to figure out the problem. After the ultrasounds are completed the doctor comes in and divulges the information that he doesn't know how to interpret it and says he will call an obgyn and describe it to them. Then he comes back in and says another completely wrong diagnosis of placenta privia and tells us we will need a c section and all this other horrible news that ends up not being true at all I don't remember the name of the doctor but he seemed completely unqualified for this job and treated it more like a soap opera than someones actual life which left us very unpleased and we know that his diagnosis was wrong because we went to the obgyn that we normally go to and she did her own ultrasound after pulling the ultrasound images saying that he was completely wrong.Initial Complaint

I’ve been with Advent for a couple of years. Some doctors are great. However I went to the ER and was rushed to a nearby facility where I was told I needed to be rushed to their Celebration hospital for emergency surgery however when I got there I needed to wait nearly a day. The surgery was a success however before being discharged a doctor Edube N****** (whom I’ve never met) walked out in the middle of the conversation to speak with another doctor without warning. As a result I said excuse me and he stormed back into my room threatening me and calling me crazy for saying 'Excuse Me'. His nurses attempted to apologize for him. Mind you I’m still recovering and in my bed. Not a huge fan of the doctor or the location. As a result I was escorted out of the hospital. I think he should watch how he speaks to people because he has a family to care for and some people don't have much to lose. Furthermore, my room had multiple roaches crawling on the guest couches. Lastly, I have not heard back from risk management and I called them the same day of this event. On a positive note, Dr. R**** is awesome and I have no complaints.Initial Complaint

My family has been calling this facility for a week and a half straight trying to get help scheduling an appointment with a radiologist. Every single time that we call we are sent straight to voicemail, and nobody is responding to the voicemails. I spoke to somebody from another department that let me know that we had been “in the queue” for a call back for 8 days. I’m not sure why it takes 8 days just to receive a call back from a scheduler, and it’s getting very frustrating at this point. My grandma has lung cancer and is in desperate need of an appointment with the radiologist, and it is very disheartening that nobody in the office seems to care. Me and my mother have been leaving voicemails for a week basically begging somebody to care that my grandma is sick. I’m not quite sure why this place even keeps their doors open, as it is clear they are not interested in taking patients. To whoever runs this facility - nobody is forcing you to work in this industry. If you do not care about bettering people’s lives, then you should leave the medical industry.Initial Complaint

I came to ER 10/3/2022 around 8pm via ambulance with c/o chest pain & difficulty breathing. I wasn't taken seriously. I wasn't taken back to be evaluated until after 1am on 10/4. I sat in the ER for over 5 hours before anyone looked at me. I was later diagnosed with a PE in my right lung about 8 hours after arrival. I find this absolutely sickening that I could have died sitting there waiting for help, or god forbid I left before being taken back. This kind of thing can't happen. If someone complains of debilitating chest pain & not being able to breathe normally, that should be taken seriously. I sat there and watched people come in AFTER me and leave before I was ever seen. I am quite literally sick to think of what could have happened if I left because I felt like I was "over reacting".Initial Complaint

Multiple issues going on with this company. Our son was born back in August of 2021 at the Adventhealth Celebration hospital, we had a two night stay and were able to leave for home with no issues. Since then we received a collection notice around 8 months later from another company saying Adventhealth Celebration was unable to collect around $1200 in debt for my wifes delivery services. We never received any bills via mail nor did we receive any phone calls to inform us of the unpaid debt. Whats more confusing is we already have some Adventhealth bills we're making payments on, these are able to be viewed on the app the company has available on iPhone but this additional bill for my wifes delivery services never appeared in the app and is still not visible to this day. We contacted the billing department to let them know we never received any information on this debt but they told us there's nothing they can do anymore. Since then we received another bill for the delivery services for my son totaling around $20,000. We contacted the billing department again and was told that he was not listed on our policy and was not covered by insurance but this is false as we added him to the policy prior to his birth. The department said they would investigate and call us back within a few business days but never did, months have gone by with no response. For the last 2 months we have called the department almost every single day and now nobody will even answer the phone. We stay on-hold for hours with no answer and we utilize the callback feature and once again, no one calls back but we continue to get threatening letters from Adventhealth about our owed debt that no one will talk to us about to resolve.Business Response

I was inpatient from 6/23-6/30/22 and on 6/27 a hospital financial representative came into my room with a breakdown of charges negotiated with my insurance carrier and what my responsibility was according to my deductible and maximum out of pocket (see attached). I agreed to pay them $2,085.58. The bill was submitted to my carrier who denied the bill due to "insufficient documentation". It is impossible to get through to hospital billing. I filed a complaint directly with the hospital by calling 407-605-3591 over two weeks ago with no results. Someone from physician billing returned my call two days later but they couldn't assist me with the hospital bills but did state that they could see the hospital resubmitted the bill to my carrier with the correct documentation. I called my carrier on 8/23/22 who confirmed it was not resubmitted. In the meantime, I need a PET scan due to suspected cancer and the provider won't do it without prepaying up front because my deductible is showing as not met yet when in fact the amount I paid to the hospital would bring my deductible in arrears! I cannot put another $2,000 out there only to not have account towards anything. So the hospital is preventing me from getting additional treatment I need by keeping my money tied up so it is not being accounted for anywhere. I also don't understand why my carrier denied the claim when I received authorization from the carrier for the hospitalization and since the hospital already had negotiated a rate with my carrier. In addition, they have paid several physician, radiology and testing bills related to the hospital stay. I called hospital billing again at around 9am on 8/23 and selected the call back prompt. Finally at 6:30 pm a rep called me back and again stated the bill was resubmitted to Oscar on 7/25 with supporting medical records. I messaged Oscar right afterwards and received a response on 8/24 stating they did not have the bill. I had to cancel my 8/22 PET scan!Initial Complaint

This issue regards billing, collections, and being completely unable to resolve the issue by calling Advent Health due to their dismal customer service. My wife gave birth to our first child at advent celebration on January 25, 2022. We were billed, and we're making regular payments. However, the payments were obviously not enough for this "Christian" organization, and we were sent to collections without notice. Upon receiving the letter from the collections agency, I called Advent and spoke with a representative who stated she would send a request to have that balance pulled from collections, and if we "paid in full" they could offer 40% off. She told me to allow time for this request to be reviewed and to contact them back. Since then, I have called MULTIPLE times and gotten reps that have no authority to do anything with my request, and who have confirmed that the request to remove from collections was never sent. I've left messages for supervisors with no call back. I've emailed the financial assistance department just trying to get a number to speak with someone and got no response. I've since been contacted by the collections agency and based on my experience, it seems this agency is affiliated with Advent in some way, as they have to get approval from Advent to do anything with the balance; which seems incredibly shady to me. I would like to be contacted by someone in a position of authority that can become my point of contact until this issue is resolved. I will no longer call into a phone que, wait hours on hold or for a call back just to have no resolution to my issue.Initial Complaint

On July 23, 2021, I had my breast reduction surgery with Dr. D****** R**** in Advent Health in Celebration, Kissimmee Florida. I can't said enough how much I regretted to have my surgery with this doctor. Yes, I did read his reviews before I went for my surgery and I really thought that he was a great doctor. My expectations changed when I see the result of my surgery. My breast looked worst than before, my clothes doesn't look right and when you looked at the size of my breast you can't see the difference. I went for my last appointment with the nurse practitioner, I mentioned to one of the ladies that took my picture how disappointed I was and she told me that my breast wasn't that bad compared with other customers that have other breast surgery. I was calling since December 2021 to speak with the person in charge and a person that really listen to me was Jenna and she was the only one that really care about my situation. She gave me the number of Ms. H***** the person in charge of complaining in the hospital in Celebration and in January when I got the opportunity to speak with her she told me that she will investigated and that she will be calling me back, yes, right? She never did and I called her again and she told me that she will be calling me back in a month with an answer, it had been almost 3 month since the last time that I spoke with her and she never call me. I guess because is not her body, she didn't care enough to investigate. Dr. D****** was fine as a person and maybe his talent is to do breast implant and not in the field of breast reduction. I had been with Advent Hospital since they were Florida Hospital but I am really surprised that a Hospital with a good reputation and a Christian Hospital and that no one had calling me back at least to checked on me or to now at least how I am doing. They don't know how mentally that had affected me. Anyways I hope that this experience doesn't happen to nobody else.
