I booked a home rental with White Pelican for March of 2024. They have taken down their phone number, it no longer exists. The company’s web site has been taken down. **** **** has also been taken down. How can I reach them to cancel my reservation? The have my credit card number.Initial Complaint

We had a home managed by White Pelican. Our house was rented March and April of 2023. We have never received our promised income from that 2 month rental. Approx. $7,000.00. Starting in May we were trying to make contact wit them. Finally I was able to talk with the maintenance man, who stated that the business was being sold. One week later after multiple attempts trying to make contact with the owner he surprisingly return my call. He stated that he was filing personal and corporate bankruptcy. Since then we’ve contacted police, bankrupt court and anyone else who’d listen to out situation. All to no avail.Initial Complaint

On March 3, 2023 I rented a home in The Villages through **** for February 15,2024-March16, 2024 and paid 3,300 to White Pelican as the Property Manager. Received e-mail June 2,2023 cancelling our reservation. Have been trying since to get a refund. Unable to make contact with White Pelican. We made reservations for a home rental in the villages for April of 2024. A deposit was paid on may 4 2023. Like the others filing a complaint on this site we got an email on June 2 saying our reservation had been cancelled. No mention of how/ when our refund of deposit would be returned. They have shut down with no way of contacting them. Please file a police report and also a report with the department of business and professional regulation(dbpr). .Many people owners and prospective tenants have been harmed.Initial Complaint

Vacation house rental for 1/28/24 thru 2/29/24 Transaction booked on 2/27/23. Deposit of $3364.52 charged to Visa on 2/27/23. Visa has been paid in full. Reservation was cancelled by White Pelican on 6/2/23 because the house was no longer available. No further detail regarding a refund was provided. Phone and internet connections at the business have been disabled. Visa was contacted on 6/2/23 with no resolution or refund to date. I cannot reach the business.Initial Complaint

We rented a home in the Villages Fl from White Pelican Realty for January through March 2024. We have rented from them for 2 years and had no problems. We gave them a down payment of $9063 on January 25, 2023. They have since closed the business, our rental is no longer available and we are unable to contact them to get our deposit money back. Their own contract states that we will get a full refund if the property becomes unavailable. We believe there are many others in our situation with this company and this fraud. Under White Pelican booking number ********, on May 4, 2023 I provided a $6778.97 deposit to rent out a property at **** ********* **** ** *** ********* ******* ***** for the period of February 2, 2024 to March 31, 2024 On 6/2/2023 I received an email message from White Pelican stating the “ reservation was cancelled. This email is to alert you that the property booked is no longer available”. At the end of the message it states “if the property becomes unavailable before your arrival, you are subject to a full refund UNLESS White Pelican has another available unit.” I Have been unable to get a communication with this company to get another available unit. I immediately called the phone number provided on the email (**** ******** and a Verizon message stating the number could not be completed as dialed. I called several times during the day. I also sent an email message to [email protected] saying I needed to know how to get refunded my deposit- the email was returned not sent- couldn’t find the internet provider. I found an email for the owner Steve@white pelican realty.com with the same result. I called the BBB at (************ and spoke to ****, who was very helpful in advising on how to file a complaint and let me know others had contacted BBB with the same complaint. I need to be refunded my $6778.97 as soon as possible.Initial Complaint

On June 2, 2023, I received an email from White Pelican in Lady Lake, Florida stating that the reservation for a rental property for the month of February, 2024 had been cancelled. I tried to contact White Pelican and there was no answer on the phone and their website had been suspended. I had entered into a an agreement on February 13, 2023 to rent the property at *** ******* ***** in The Villages. (Booking ID number ********) At that time White Pelican was paid $3,031.24. I also had an alternate phone number for White Pelican that when I placed the call an individual by the name of Steve answered and put me on hold and then disconnected the call. When I called back I was informed that the call could not be completed. I now understand that White Pelican has gone out of business and my concern is that my deposit will not be returned.Initial Complaint

We paid a deposit to White Pelican for a rental in the Villages for March 2024. We received the attached email with no explanation. They have since closed down their web site, cut their phone lines and eliminated any way of getting in touch with them. The paperwork clearly states that they would issue a refund due to a cancellation. We would love to know what happened and are they going to refund our account
