I signed up with truedental discount last year. I am now on disability and I am no longer able to afford this coverage. I was violently assaulted and had to get on disability due to brain damage. I got an email a few days ago stating that they couldn't renew my account because I didn't have enough money in the bank. I was glad that they was canceling my account because I need the money for other things. A week later I was checking my bank balance and noticed that truedentaldiscount was paid. I called truedental and told them I wanted to cancel their service because I can't afford it. The lady I was speaking with said she understood and they would put the money back into my checking account. It has been a few weeks and they never canceled my account or refunded my money. I have sent them two emails explaining that I can't afford them and I have bills coming up and I need to be canceled and refunded. I haven't heard from them and they have not refunded me. My truedental acct no. Is *********Business Response

Sketchy business practices. When I signed up my partner **************** with True Dental *************, the company never told us its charge would automatically renew annually. When we told the customer representative a few weeks ago to cancel the renewal because dentists my partner was using in NYC would not accept its product, the representative was rude and refused to send us an email confirming the cancellation and the refund. Let's talk about the refund. Instead of giving us a full refund, which an ethical business would do, True Dental ************* kept 10 percent of the $299 total, claiming it was OK to prorate the refund because we called just over a week after their charge posted on my credit card account. We want that 10 percent refunded - as it should be!Business Response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/11/14) */ Attached is PDF. Here is our text response: November 10, 2022 To Whom It May Concern, We take every member/customer inquiry seriously and we want to ensure every member is satisfied. I am in receipt of Case Number ********, filed by ***** ********* regarding member*****************, and we appreciate the opportunity to respond. ******** ******* was enrolled in one of our dental savings plans by ***** ********* on October 6, 2021. At the end of the enrollment, a closing statement was read where the details of the annual auto-recurring payment were discussed; also requiring a "Yes" answer. Membership materials sent electronically via email and in the mail via USPS state the following Terms & Conditions. Terms & Conditions Renewal Conditions: By joining a plan, you are authorizing True Dental Discounts to bill your credit card or checking account for the plan you have selected. This charge shall remain in force until you notify True Dental Discounts of request to cancel. By joining, you indicate you have read the terms and conditions of the plan. This plan will automatically renew at the end of your membership term on an annual, quarterly, or monthly basis, and your credit card or bank account will be automatically charged or drafted for the appropriate amount. Termination Conditions: True Dental Discounts reserves the right to terminate plan members from its plan for any reason, including non-payment. Cancellation Conditions: You have the right to cancel within the first 30 days after receipt of membership materials and receive a full refund, less the processing fee, if applicable. If for any reason during this time period you are dissatisfied with the plan and wish to cancel and obtain a refund, you must submit a written cancellation request. True Dental Discounts will accept and cancel plan memberships at any time during the membership period and will cease collecting membership fees in a reasonable amount of time, but no later than 30 days after receiving a cancellation notice. Please send a cancellation letter and a request for refund with your name and member number to True Dental Discounts at P.O. Box 950399, Lake Mary, FL 32795 or fax to: 888-888-8520. You may also submit a cancellation by email: [email protected]. While reviewing the calls, ***** was on the phone with ******** in the background during the enrollment and it was ***** who completed the disclosure and agreed 'Yes', meaning he was advised about the renewal. After reviewing the October 2022 call when ***** called, ***** was frustrated due to not being able to find an account and upset saying he was fraudulently charged, this was because *****'s name nor phone number was on the account (per his request during the enrollment call). We would like to assure you*****************'s plan has been canceled and a refund of $269.45 was issued back to the original form of payment on October 17, 2022. As stated in the terms and conditions refunds are not due for renewals but we did offer a prorated refund out of a desire to resolve this matter. Sincerely, Brittany H***** Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/11/15) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Brittany is spewing garbage. No one ever agreed to any annual renewal. This is obviously a reoccurring, fraudulent problem with this company, which operates more like a racket: it renews charges for a subpar product without making it clear that people are subject to these renewals. Look at the public record on the BBB website. Complainants use words like "crooks" to describe this company. My opinion is that True Dental Discounts should be more stringently regulated or shut down by law enforcement in the state of Florida. We want that 10 percent refunded ASAP or we will escalate our protestations not only on social media platforms, but we will ask the law to get involved. True Dental Discounts is clearly desperate for money and needs to be held accountable for the people it has mislead.Initial Complaint

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/08/31) */ PDF DOCUMENT IS ATTACHED:::: 08/30/2022 To Whom It May Concern, I am in receipt of the BBB Case Number ********, regarding ***************, and we appreciate the opportunity to respond. *************** enrolled in a dental savings plan on August 23, 2021. During the enrollment process, ******** chose a monthly payment option, meaning her plan would renew on the 23rd of each month. ********'s plan has been renewed monthly for a full year now and has always been $19.95. We are unsure of the $70.00 she is speaking about in the BBB Case Description, nor was that amount mentioned on the call. Quality Control has reviewed the phone call *************** placed after her monthly renewal had already taken place. The call was roughly a minute and a half long with no one speaking over anyone. ******** asked for a full refund, and it was explained per the terms and conditions of her plan (that she priorly confirmed she was in receipt of), that there is no refund due past 30 days of enrollment date (8/23/2021) and the cancellation of a plan would need to take place before the renewal date to avoid the monthly charge. ********'s plan is set to cancel before the next renewal takes place (09/2/2022) and there will be no further charges. ******** was okay with that resolution at the end of her call. May 2021 i signed up for discount dental and forgot about it. Never used it. May 2022 I had a charge pending of $239.40 showing on my checking account. I called truedentaldiscount immediately after calling my bank. The guy I spoke with Nick ext. **** said that the charge was still pending on his end as well. He understood I wanted my money back. So he proceeds to tell me that my account was canceled and to call them back because it said it was still pending. So when I attempted to call the number *********** (this number i got from my bank) back I heard a recording that sounded as if disconnected. I have filed with my bank disputing this transaction on May 27th 2022. I first calls were made on May 26th to both bank and truedentaldiscount. At the time my like I said we're both pending with the bank and truedental and then i canceled.Business Response

I checked my bank this morning and it was showing a credit from the dental discount. I am satisfied. Thank you for your hp.
