I'm going to make this short and attach many pictures; no need for the email and text messages yet. Hickman Homes Homes of Distinction, built our new home in 2021 and paid cash for it: $450,000.00. My family and I moved the weekend before Polk Public Schools began last year. Myself and my wife have been in contact with Hickman homes, Mike *******, Hunter *******, Gregg ******* et al. since 2021 regarding the following; to no avail. or resolution. I have emails, texts, pictures from when Hunter Hickman initially texted us and said we can move in when he received the certificate of occupancy. My wife and I never received this by the way; Hunter just texted us and said "you can move in tomorrow." So we did. HERE IS WHAT IS GOING ON AND WHAT IS DANGEROUS IN OUR HOME. 1. As noted to Hunter in 2021 before he received the certificate of occupancy: The front window to our home is not secure. Every night around us there are break in's and our window frame is bent and OUR WINDOW CANNOT BE LOCKED. It has been this way before we moved in. I have basically begged for this to be corrected and over a year later, nothing. 2. The hood wall above our gas top IS NOT what we paid for or ordered. Gregg Leeper Is the only one who has tried to help with this but Hunter continuously threw the blame back on Gregg and famous tate and then Hunter said it was up to us to fix. Again I will attach invoices, pictures, conversations: The hood wall is in two different OBVIOUS metal colors, there are gaps along the ceiling where it obviously doesn't fit, and it is clearly two pieces in which we ordered an extension that inserts inside of each other so that you CANNOT see the seam and that it is two pieces. Hunter advised that at the time he ordered it for our home, Famous Tate was not in stock, Hunter then stated in email to myself, "I took it upon myself to fabricate it for you so you wouldn't have to wait." Well, No one in the **** family gave Hunter ******* the authority to have at $1800.00 hood wall covering fabricated. GG Electric then installed what Hunter had fabricated; which did not fit. We waited 2 more months, and this was the result. Hunter emailed after all the in between emails and finally said it is up to us to replace it. No resolution. 3. Door knobs. Every doorknob in our home has fallen apart and of except 2. I have asked Hunter and Hickman Homes to please come and fix our door knobs since 2021 and no resolution. 4. ELECTRICAL DANGER I have been working with Duke Energy- As Hunter Hickman advised- and was advised by Duke Energy electricians that our homes electrical problems result from the build. She stated that there are some wires somewhere that got stapled, mixed up, or not screwed in the right way causing the intermittent electricity in the outlets, and sparks to come out of the outlets. She advised that in order to pinpoint exactly where it is and to fix it; it will cost me $3000.00 just for the diagnostic test. She then stated that a Lawyer is needed; that she has seen this a few times, "it can get expensive." I have tried to tell Hunter Hickman and Hickman Homes an EXTREME amount of times, something is wrong with our electrical outlets, it is not safe. Hunters reply was basically call Duke, it sounds like a surge issue because our electricians don't find anything. No resolution. 5. There is still orange paint on my walls in my master bed room 6. I bought towel and toilet paper racks (holders) and ******* Homes has not installed them. Hunter has said several times they would come install them via email and text; however, the last email from him he said we never purchased that from them. I sent Mike ******* an email; a month later he replied and sent me a blank OBVIOUS made up Change Order that is NOT signed by anyone; whereas all the other change orders are. This email was a result of emails going back and forward. 7. The grout in our tile is missing in places and when wiped with a paper towel dipped in water, the grout is coming out. There are chipped tiles in our master bathroom, and very obvious uneven grout lines. Extremely thick at the top and no grout lines at the bottom of the shower. The grout in the entire house was not wiped away after they installed it (or whatever you call it). Early on in this mess of a construction company and new home building; Hunter said that it was up to Hickman Home standards. Again, I will attach pictures. Please let us know what we can do for help. The president of Hickman Homes has personally met with the owners at their home to review the items and to come up with a solution. All items are being addressed and we hope to resolve them as soon as possible. Thank you. He was very understanding and we are very grateful.
