Bekins is supposed to be a national recognized moving company. I hired them to move household goods from Orlando, FL to Las Vegas, NV. They packaged and loaded all goods on time on June25th - 28th.. Their original quote which was binding was for 8097$. They shipped goods and delivered them in Las Vegas on August 19th. They now said the price was 13,758.77$. Over 6000$. more than what was said. To our surprise most of the furniture were not even covered and they damaged multiple things. Including banging and damaging a desk, multiple chairs, broken glass, etc. Also they lost the 2 front feet of the primary bed which they had dissembled and left all in the floor, also lost a very heavy plant pot. I can't believed they charged 13.758.77$ to damage most of the furniture, lose parts making an expensive bed useless due to their lack of care and simply want to claim all with 272$ to compensate over 10000$ in damages and additional charged over 6000$ more.Business response

Our company did not play a part in your pricing or you packing or delivery. You need to call Sunbelt who was your booking agent or ******* Van lines at ************. All the marketing materials, inclusive tithe trucks had a big Bekins sign all over. It is your brand and therefore your replsponsibility. No one has answered. I paid over 12k$ to transport good and you failed as you lost parts or damaged a lot of items therefore you didn't do the job Inpaid for so I need a refund. As it Has the Bekins brand you are also responsible or is misleading ? When this truck comes to my house and the movers have green shirts that says Bekins who Am I hiring to do the job? You have to assume your responsibility. Also no one answers, not you not Sunbelt etc. but the trucks are all over the place misleading poor customers like myself that you are a big, National company that is responsible of doing the basic things, take goods from point A to point B and nos Losing items, or parts that you disassembled or breaking things. We did not provide any services. Sunbelt is your booking agent. That means they are the company that you gave your order to. They are not part of Bekins Moving Solutions organization. Additionally, due to the fact that this is an interstate shipment, it was hauled under the authority if Wheaton/Bekins Vanlines. As I said before, you need to contact the vanline directly. I had a contract with Bekins to deliver my household goods NLT August 5, 2021. The items were loaded onto two separate trucks due to poor planning on their part; and I am still waiting for the remainder of my household goods to be delivered by the second truck.Business response

I entrusted my furnishings (furniture, TVs, boxes of household goods etc.) to Bekins to store and eventually move out of state on 06/05/19. When it became obvious I was not leaving Tucson, my job, or my local residence I requested delivery of my things out of storage in January 2021. In the mean time I paid $150 a month for the year and a half and was never notified that anything had happened to the wellbeing of my stored things. At delivery, the Bekins man said to me I want you to know we (himself and the other mover person) did not do these things to your possessions. They were very nice and moved everything into my spare room for me to go through. Chairs were broken, nicked and bruised, legs broken off of an end table and bureau, the hinge gone and the structure stressed off an antique desk, the coffee table base broken, a granite top cracked, TVs gone, China box (4 place settings) unaccounted for and various boxes gone through. Bekins only $.60 per pound offered. $293.40Business response

A refund in the amount of $293.40 will be issued to the claimant. This case is now closed. Hiding behind a contract is one way of doing business however in this case the disrespect shown to my possessions was way beyond normal wear and tear. No responsibility taken, no apology, no service, no interest in customer service. It took them 7 months to send me a check for $293 to cover ruining an antique coffee table, two wooden chairs, a wooden bureau, a broken end table, cracked granite on a little table, not to mention "loosing during storage 2 televisions and having numerous boxes gone through. Of course this is just my opinion but a good company/good claims manager would have tried to make things right regardless of their contract. Obviously repeat business is unimportant here. Unfortunately, you did not purchase valuation therefore, the claim is paid at .60 cents per pound per article, as stated on the bill of lading. We will certainly provide your feedback to the branch and crew that provided the service so they can ensure this doesn't happen again. MOVERS DELIVERED THE HOUSE HOLD GOODS, LEFT THE BOXES AND PACKING MATERIALS BEHIND. BENKINS IS OBLIGATED TO PICK UP TRASHES, EMPTY BOXES, AND PACKING MATERIALS BY CONTRACT WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE. I PLEADED TO COME AND PICK UP EMPTY BOXES, AND PACKING MATERIALS FOR ABOUT 6 TIMES (PHONE NUMBER: XXX-XXX-XXXX). I WAS TOLD THAT BEKINS WILL FIND SOMEONE TO PICKUP. HOWEVER, BEKINS NEVER DID. CURRENTLY EMPTY BOXES IN THE HOUSE ARE CREATING FIRE HAZARD. THANK YOU.Business response

In addition, I was able to contact 1 Bekins (XXX-XXX-XXXX) in Carlisle in PA for six times; they kept saying we'll find someone to pickup boxes; but no action; CURRENT DATE 18 AUGUST 2021. Bekins moving in Tucson AZ confirmed a delivery date of 7/31 and did not communicate that it would not be delivered until 4:30 pm. The managers have lied to us and had a lack of communication from the company and managers.Business response
