I had a root canal with **************** on 12/15/2021. The difference between what the insurance paid and my responsibility was ******. I paid ****** on that date in December 2021. The Doctor said one of canals was very calcified and asked that I come back in six months to recheck. I came back six months later as asked and when I was leaving I asked if I owed anything and I was told everything was covered under the original amount. The doctor asked me to return again in a year to make sure it was still good. I came back in July 2023 and he did and x-ray and told me everything was good and I didn't have to come back. I went to the front counter and asked what do I owe, the girl told me that I didn't owe anything as it was all covered under the original cost. Now I am receiving a phone call from ****** in his office telling me I owe *****. I checked with my insurance company and they told me I only owed ******, I said well with the ***** she is telling me I still owe that would come out to ****** that I originally paid. ****** told me today that if I didn't pay this by next week she would turn it over to collections. I asked to speak with the dentist and she told me it didn't work that way. I can't imagine almost three years later telling me I owe this money. She asked was I going to pay it or not. I said no I have already paid and she hung the phone up on me. My insurance has been trying to contact the office and they have not been able to talk to anyone.

The resulting balance was the amount that the insurance did not cover. The patient had a total of $902 in expenses. Patient paid $487 and insurance paid $375.50 which left a balance of $39.50. This should have been told to the patient after we received the insurance payment. Due to the length of time that has passed, we will write off the balance.
