On October 29, 2021 I made an agreement with LSCI, INC. DBA Sun-Tec to install solar panels on my roof. In November I was told by my salesperson that Sun-Tec applied for a building permit. To date, nothing has happened. On January26, 2022 I spoke with a Frank P. at Sun-tec who told me they applied for the permit on January 3, 2022. Today, January 27, 2022 I spoke with the Hernando County Permit department who informed me that the permit was filed on January 20, 2022. I wanted to cancel the contract because nothing was happening and I was informed by Mr. P. that if I cancelled I would be in breach of contract and they would put an $8,000 lien on my home. To date I still do noy have any information on what equipment is to be used or when it will be completed. I would like this contract terminated without any kind of lien placed on my property.

Business Response /* (1000, 13, 2022/02/09) */ We spoke with this customer the same day he lodged this complaint. There was a misunderstanding over the permit application. Hernando County is extremely slow to respond and the customer thought we were lying about submitting the permit application. We provided email evidence that indeed we had applied the day we said we had. The matter has been cleared up and the customer is moving forward with his solar project. Consumer Response /* (2000, 15, 2022/02/17) */ (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.) The company and I have reached an amicable agreement and the solar panels have been installed.

In September on the 27th I called sun tec about problems with my hat water heater. They replied and sent some one out to look at it October 1st. They determine I needed a new hot water tank that was still under warranty and that the wiring wasn't hooked up right. So the techs told me they would order the tank and get some one out to look at the wiring. On October 6th the said they need to find an electrician to do the work. I have called them numerous times about it and no one gets back with me. The weather is getting colder and I have no hot water. Jackie is always pleasant with me and says she 'll have some one call me back and now it was been over a month and half and still no solution to my problem.

I recently purchased a home in Cape Coral, FL in April 2021 with Solar Panels installed by Sun-Tec in April 2019. As part of the purchase, I had to pay off the balance owed by the previous owner with the warranty transferred to me. Since this is a second residence, I am not there full time. Back in June, I noticed a leak during a rainstorm, that was coming from the A/C duct and thought it could be condensation. I returned in July, and during another rainstorm, there was rapid dripping from the A/C vent in the master bedroom as well as blistering and leaking from a second location in the master bedroom ceiling. I had a professional roofer investigate, in which he took pictures and videos of the leak. It was evident that the leak was due to an errant lag bolt from the Solar Panel stanchion. The rain clearly leaks in through that point and runs along the truss and leaks into the master bedroom ceiling in the points noted. I had a second professional come out on October 1, 2021 who confirmed the same findings that the leak was from faulty installation of the Solar Panel. They too took infrared pictures showing the damage. Further, Sun-Tec also sent their own 3 man crew out later that same day, and they said "it was a mess" and agreeing that it was from the solar panel install There is mold growing in the attic. The leaks persist. All of which is documented. When I called Sun-Tec to find out what the timing was to repair the leak, mitigate the mold growth and possibly patch the damaged ceiling, a Customer Service Rep, said that the Manager said the leak was from condensation and has refused to resolve the issue. I have made several attempts, speaking with the same Customer Service Rep, who has documented my calls, to ask for the Manager to review this with me. NO CALLS BACK. I am trying to keep from taking legal action but if Sun-Tec continues to refuse to remedy the situation, and the leak progresses, we will be looking at major and very costly repairs.
