My 17 year old daughter worked at ********* for two years and saved 8 thousand dollars for her first car. ****** Mills assured us that they look at cars to make sure they are okay. My daughter broke down after driving this car before driving it 200 miles. The engine locked up and the car was unrepairable. Took the car to 2 different mechanics and they advise the car needs a whole new engine. My daughter worked so hard and ****** Mills refuses to respond back to me. This company does this to so many people. I wish I had known. Someone please do something about this company. I am working on it from my end. They need to be shut down.Initial Complaint

I bought my son a car on Tuesday, 11/29/2024 from Donny Mills Auto Sales in *****, *******. They did tell us they were a buy here pay here and there was no warranty on the car. However, while driving it home from the dealership, it started running really rough and shimmering all over the road and my son barely made it home. We immediately took it to a mechanic the next day who said it needs a new transmission at $6,100. The car is a 2016 ****** Versa Note with only ****** miles. We paid $6,295 plus tag, tax a title. The mechanic said there is no way the dealership did not know of the transmission problem. I called Donny Mills Auto Sales Thursday morning after getting the estimate from the mechanic to try and come to a resolution, but they said once I bought it, it was my problem. I told them we are all human and this is not fair that we are stuck with a car that wont even run immediately after purchasing it and there must be some resolution we can come to. He refused to do anything and again told me it was my problem now. I dont know what to do. I told them regardless of their no warranty policy, this is a horrible, unacceptable situation for us and that they do run a business and need to work with us and do the right thing. We came to buy a car from them in good faith and that this is a serious issue. I'm positive they knew about this serious defect. They cant possibly think we should be stuck with a car that doesnt run and that has a very large expensive issue/repair. I have a loan on the car, expensive insurance and the car wont even run without a new transmission which I can't afford. This is so unfair that they will do absolutely nothing with a problem this serious. There must be something that can be done with an issue this extensive.Initial Complaint

I paid 9.8k for a car just to turn around and pay more than its worth to fix it.Initial Complaint

They refused to do business with us, at their asking price. We were willing to pay their full asking price. They told us a lie. Said it was illegal to do paperwork out of state and have someone else pick up the vehicle. I worked in sales for a decade and did this many times. All I had to do was fill out the paperwork in front of a notary, which I was willing to do. They decided that I was not worth their time and couldnt let me purchase something at their asking price. I may speak to an attorney about the false claims and the false advertising.Initial Complaint

in july of 2023 my wife and i purchaced a 2011 ****** maxima for my 17 year old daughter for ***** tax and tag which we thought was a good deal and had only ***** miles on it. 4 months later my daughter took the car up to *********** to visit my other daughter who goes to school there . she ended up breaking down with overhating engine come to find out the engine was severly damaged internally. to fix or replace engine was not worth putting in thousands because suspension and frame was damaged. so i kept the car and it drove with blown head gasket for a couple of months. then we brought the car to see what we would get for car, because we needed to get my daughter another car. so carmax had told us by pulling up report that the car was in severe accident in the front with structural damage in april of 2023 and was announced at auction when donny mills bought it. we had no idea becuse we had the carfax that stated no accidents printed june 27 2023. we would have never bought that vehicle knowing it was in severe car accident we did get ***** from carmax ,i do beleive that donny mills with held ,and did not disclose this info. . and i new that all accidents are not always reported and you buy as is. however were not talking about a 3 thousand doller car. the fact that it was announced at auction and should of been on carfax that we had makes donny mills look guilty of fraud and deceptive trade practices. we would like to get some of the money back, but most of all , would like this buisiness to be exposed to the public so it never happens againInitial Complaint

On Sunday March 5th I bought a car from Donny Mills auto sales for $7,400.00. On Monday March 6th the car broke down while my daughter was driving it. It would run but not move. I contacted Donny Mills office. They did come out and do a diagnostic test but said too many errors to tell exactly what is wrong. I called Donny Mills office when I got home from work . I was told to take it to a mechanic. I asked if I could return the car, I was told no- that there is nothing they can do. I asked if they would help with repairs they said no. It is the transmission. $2,800 for the part. With labor to install the total is $4,200. This has caused a huge financial burden and lack of transportation for my daughter who just started a new job. I understand that they sell their cars "as-is" but this ridiculous. No morals. The car was not even operational for 1 day. I feel that they should have to pay for the new transmission. They sold me a defective product. I was also told that this car had a rebuilt title and was inspected by the **************** for resale.Business Response

This response was taken verbally by BBB:
The customer first came to look at the vehicle with another family member and they test drove the vehicle for a good while. We advised they could have a mechanic check it out but they said were fine with the inspection and test drive they did on their own. This was sold as an AS IS vehicle which carries no warranty. When the customer called about concerns we did advise they could bring it to us for ************ to inspect and see if we could offer a better rate for repairs but never heard from them.

I bought a used 2006 Toyota Tacoma from Donny mills auto sales on may 10th 2022. They told me the truck had been mechanically inspected and was safe to drive. After test driving it, I bought it for $16,500. The next day I took it to my own mechanic and they said the frame was completely rusted out and unsafe to drive. The Toyota dealership confirmed this a few days later and gave me a repair estimate of over $14,000. They urged me not to drive it home but I had no choice due to my financial situation. After calling Donny Mills auto sales back they told me it was an as-is sale and there's nothing they can do about it. I am hoping there is some kind of recourse after selling me an unsafe vehicle with a frame that Toyota says is ready to break in half at any minute!Business Response
