Although we have not yet completely dismissed the idea of taking these two people to Small Claims Court, we know too well what the outcome would be. We would win. They may not even show up, or both. Then we would get an endless paper trail of their bankruptcy for the next 5 years or they would grift on to another area. Hindsight is almost always 20/20. I knew they were a little confused, but I really wanted to help what looked like a young, hard-working American family by hiring them. Confused or not, I never would have thought that they would pull a scam on me and my husband like they did. We asked for half of the money we gave them back and they still would have come out on top. Shame on you Mrs. Cherry. I actually expected a bit better from you and, yes my dear, a verbal agreement oddly enough is almost the same as a written agreement--especially when you ACCEPT MONEY FOR SAME and I have copies of the texts that we exchanged so it was actually more an informal written agreement. If you're going to be thieves, you'd best get a lot more practice. We are still waiting for that money. We also checked on the disposal fees, etc., and please do not assume that if someone is older than perhaps your parents that they are stupid. That isn't good business either.
