      This company is not well run. I have an investment property which relies on them for water. I did not receive their bill and they shutoff the water with no warning on a Friday afternoon requiriing an emergency call after hours which cost me hundreds of ********** idea where they were sending bills and did not see an autopay option. When I called in they informed me there is an autopay option but you do not access it from your payments tab in your account. You have to go out to some other landing page. Totally idiotic.Just poorly organized tech and poorly run. No city/county should partner with them.

      Mr. Silver:
      Thank you for posting your FGUA review.  FGUA billing statements are sent to the requested billing address on record.  FGUA also sends a past due notice if payment is not received by the due date, and after five days written notice, the account is then eligible for disconnection for non-payment.  FGUA is not responsible for lost or stolen mail sent through the ****************************. If a customer does not receive their billing statement in a timely fashion, FGUA encourages Flagler County customers call the ******************** *********************** at *************, so that a copy of the billing statement can be e-mailed or sent by postal mail to the customer.  ******************** may then also provide a one-time exemption from late fees and disconnection of service to provide the customer additional time to receive the billing statement and pay the balance.  Alternatively,customers may sign up to receive their bills electronically by filling out and submitting the online eBilling Request Form at: *********************************************************************.

      Customers may also enlist their account in E-Z Pay (automatic checking) by downloading and submitting the E-Z Pay form available online on the Payment Options page at ***********************************************************************;

      Concerning the fees that are assessed for after-hours services,FGUA charges a $187.50 After-Hours Premise Visit Fee when requesting a service technician after regular business hours (Monday through Friday, after 5 p.m.,or on weekends).  FGUA also bills a $207.50 same-day service fee for customers requesting restoration of service the same day after being disconnected for a past due balance.

      FGUA will soon introduce a new online bill pay system, which will include an e-wallet option for retaining payments or setting up payment types, which can also be used for autopay through a customers credit card,debit card, and checking account.  The new system will also retain the past 12 months of downloadable billing statements.  FGUA anticipates the system being available by this summer.

      Thank you again for providing your comments.

      Shady business practices with the intention of getting more money out of people than the services require. No online bill viewing or payment options either the promise of a new system coming by the end of the month for over a year and a half now.. these types of practices are unacceptable for human necessities, especially in our current economy.

      Dear Customer: Thank you for providing your comments concerning FGUA's payment options.  FGUA has attempted to reach out last week by e-mail to address any of the concerns but has not heard back. Customers may experience intermittent issues using the Online Bill *** method.  Customers are encouraged to clear their cache, and ensure they are using the most recent version of their web browser.

      FGUA is working on a new, online bill pay system, which, unfortunately, has taken longer to develop and deploy.  The system is undergoing testing, and we do anticipate its launch later this year. In the meantime, customers can pay using any of the several alternative payment options, including our toll-free ***-by-Phone System, pay by EZ-*** (automatic checking), pay at any local ****** or ************* location, at their local ************************ or pay by mail.  We will notify customers once the new online bill pay system is available.  We appreciate our customers' patience and understanding.

      I am writing to formally express my concern regarding the water charges imposed by [Company Name], which appear to significantly exceed the national average. I recently received a bill of nearly $100 for using approximately ***** gallons of water. I believe this usage does not reflect my actual consumption, making the charges both questionable and unaffordable.Based on these rates, a family of four could potentially incur water bills of $400 or more per month. This is an alarming expense, particularly when considering other household costs such as rent, which ranges from $1,500 to $2,500, and electricity bills that average $400 to $600. These cumulative expenses place an immense financial burden on residents, leaving little room for necessities such as food or other living ******** illustrate, when I owned a home in ********, **, my family of four paid approximately $50 for water every three monthsa ***** contrast to the current charges. This discrepancy raises serious questions about the fairness and accuracy of [Company Name]'s pricing.I urge your office to investigate this matter thoroughly and provide transparency regarding the basis for these charges. If no resolution is forthcoming, I intend to escalate the issue by bringing it to the attention of the media and social networks to ensure that this practice is publicly scrutinized.I look forward to your prompt response and action to address this matter.

      This response serves to address the concern submitted by Mr. ****** ****** dated November 19th, 2024. The Florida Governmental Utility Authority (FGUA) is a not-for-profit entity, and the only revenue source is from the properties connected to the water or wastewater system. One of the duties of the FGUA Board is to make sure the FGUA rates are sufficient to pay all FGUA operating costs and repay the debts incurred for the bonds that are sold to finance the purchase of the utility and needed large capital projects. Like many other utilities, the FGUA uses an independent rate consultant - *************************************** (PRMG) - to review the number of current and projected customers, the daily expenses of running the utility, and the amount that must be held in escrow to repay the bonds. The report suggests any rate increases necessary for the current year, and projects rates necessary for future years. The report is shared with the host county government and FGUA Board as well as publically in an open rate hearing (if a rate change is required).Rate hearings are typically held on a weeknight, in a local library, community center, or other large room with public access. The hearing is advertised in a legal ad in the daily newspaper, online at ****************************** and on customer bills in the weeks before the hearing. At the public hearing, the rate consultant and FGUA financial staff give a presentation on the costs incurred by the utility, and the amount of revenue required to pay the daily expenses and debt. Rates for the FGUA are compared to local utilities and other utilities in Florida. Members of the public are encouraged to ask questions and make suggestions at the hearing. This meeting takes place prior to the Board making a decision on the rate implementation. This is done so that all comments from the host government and the public can be shared with the Board. A rate increase can be made for 1 year, or a multiple-year time frame, such as 3 or 5 years, based on the rate consultants report. If a multiple year increase is passed, a new rate hearing is not required each year. Often the rate consultant will only suggest a small cost of living adjustment based on the United States Consumer Price Index (CPI). A CPI increase does not require a public hearing as long as it is not higher than 75% of the index.Rate increases are usually adopted at the *************** meeting and go into effect on October 1, which is the first day of the fiscal year. One emergency rate increase can be adopted at other times of the year if revenue is not sufficient to pay the daily costs of running the utility. This is rare but has occurred in FGUA systems.Each FGUA system has its own budget and revenue and is responsible for paying its own bills. Customers from one system are not responsible for any debt in another system. That is why the rates for each system are studied, calculated, and passed independently, in order to keep the rates as low as possible. Large capital improvement projects and line expansion projects are carefully evaluated and expenses monitored in each system to keep costs to a minimum and still maintain the systems at maximum efficiency. The FGUA continues to seek federal ***** monies when available to assist with needed capital improvement costs, this in turn affects impact to customer rates. While I cannot speak to the rates Ms. ****** paid in ********, **, I can advise, there are many variables affecting system rates, these include water and wastewater treatment processes, infrastructure quality, population density, water usage patterns, and mandated regulatory compliance. No two systems face the same challenges and economies of scale determine what share of the burden each customer receiving the service will need to pay. The model utilized by the FGUA is a common rate making/ billing standard utilized throughout the utility industry as outlined in the Florida Administrative Code and the **************************I hope this information is helpful. Should Mr. ****** have any questions he should feel free to contact me ***** *******, ****************** Representative on behalf of the FGUA at ************** or via email to *****************************************

      I closed my account in May 2024 and i had a credit to my account. They mailed me a check to the address that has the closed account (i don't live there anymore). I contacted them at THE END OF JULY looking for my check. That when they said they mailed it to the closed acct address. We corrected it to my current p.o. box and they said to give them 6 to 8 weeks to process!!! Here we are week 8, and i call looking for my refund. And they say "we are sorry but the person you spoke with didn't process your request and they no longer work here" Excuse me?! So i asked to speak with a manager, and they said a manager can't do any different bc its the billing department. Ok ..so i asked to speak with billing, and they said they can only communicate with billing via email and they don't talk with customers, and it will take them 24 to 48 hours to respond. Not to mention our bills were sly high when we used their service! Who pays $150 for water for just 2 people?!?! They are organized crime!!!! Give me my money!

      The FGUA apologizes for the delay in providing the refund. Due to a technical issue with the Customer Information and Billing System, the refund scheduled to be sent to the customer was not printed or mailed.  It is my understanding that the refund check was reissued and mailed the week of Monday, October 7.

      The Florida Governmental Utility Authority was formed in 1999 through an interlocal agreement between *******, ***, **** and ******** counties. These four local governments desired to make the best use of their common responsibilities to acquire, own, improve, operate and maintain water and wastewater facilities. By forming the FGUA, these counties used resource sharing to provide drinking and wastewater service to their citizens at a lower cost and with more local management. Since 1999, the counties making up the FGUA have changed. Today, the FGUA has over ************* 14 counties across Florida. An eight-member board of directors, with six alternates, governs the FGUA, with representatives from Citrus, Flagler, Hendry, ***, ******, ******, *****, and **** counties. These board members meet monthly to represent the member systems and establish policy and priorities on issues such as expansion, rates, environmental resource management and long-range planning. Each board member is a county employee appointed by their local government. Each county has a board member, please contact that board member with your complaints, hopefully your issues will be properly addressed and resolved. My mom is a new customer and so far, it's been an awful experience. She submitted her application on Monday, April 29th. It was approved on Wednesday, April 30th. The next day, the previous owner submitted a request to terminate her service. ***** with FGUA emailed to let her know she would check at the end of day for the lady's form and would "move you back into this location and get your account made". We expected the service would be transferred to my mom's name with no interruption. Today, they shut off her water! Now they want her to pay a $75 fee so they can come back out to turn it back on. They take no responsibility for their failure to provide a smooth transition and service to the customer AND expect the customer to pay for their lack of service. What's worse is they have a monopoly so the customer has no choice but to do business with them. I am waiting for a supervisor to call me back to, hopefully, remedy the situation. My advice: don't live in any place where this company has a monopoly on water service. *********** and OUC are way better.

      I'm a victim of legacyfxglobalmarkets scam which all started with just a deposit of 400. The next deposit I was forced to pay quickly turned to ***** and every time I try to cash out they ask me for more to cover for taxes and other complicated government fees. My profits had accumulated to ******* as it would show on my mobile application but I could not access it. By the time I came to my senses that the company is illegitimate, l had already lost a total of ******.
