      On August 11, 2022, we received a bid for a full home refurb totaling $25,540 from Generations Custom Construction which is attached for review. The job started and progressed timely until which time there was an issue with the flooring selected. The issue was overcome and a second selection of flooring was installed, with issue. We requested the buckling of the flooring to be addressed; however it was not, causing damage to the flooring requiring replacement. We were then told cabinets were ordered from **** ****** but delayed. Then we were told the contractor canceled the cabinet order due to time delays and presented a bid for almost double anticipated cost, we declined and ordered cabinets independent of the contractor. At this time, the contractor never returned to complete any further work. The contractor was given an advance of $20,402.50. Based on work not completed and cost of flooring repair work we a due a refund. Items not completed as outline on the bid are as follows: $4000 cabinet allowance, $1275 cabin installation w/ plumbing and electric, master vanity allowance $850, install master vanity with plumbing $550, replace broken window in master bath $500, repair rotten wood at front door and in living room $250 (living room was repaired, front door was not), demo toilet and vanity in hall bath $100 (toilet was removed vanity was not), allowance for toilet and vanity $200 (toilet was replaced vanity was not), $175 for painting of base boards and ceiling trim (no ceiling trim was purchased, painted or installed). The floor/floor repair cost $1000 and we are due that reimbursement, because it could have been corrected. Addressing the difference in the bid of $25,540 and the paid amount of $20,402.50 - there was no ceiling trim installed quoted at $1550 and the flooring was purchase for less than noted allowance. With all things noted we are seeking a refund of $6562.50.
