    I am in the process of relocating from ON to ******** **. I have been a cosmetologist for 25 years and want to switch roles and start a new career at 43, and real estate is what us interesting me. I opted for the school Ive mentioned because my boyfriend lives in Marathon and the classes were offered in person in that area. I applied for my professional real estate license on November 2022. I had taken all the appropriate measures in this process. I was signed up for classes in June of 2022, with ************************* at the Florida Real Estate School. I had to appear in court for a hearing due to a family matter, I sent them a copy via email of my summons to court as soon as I knew I had to appear. I had paid them ******* (on 2/7/22) for this 6 day in person education class and ************************* said sorry no refund. We made a special class for you and we dont offer refunds snd we also will not reschedule you for classes. She did claim however that theyd be happy to refund me ***** out of the ******* I paid in full to the Florida real estate school via check. I have never received that either, she also stated she sent a book in the mail for school do I could study early, that never arrived to my house. It must have gotten lost in the mail. The last time I spoke to ******************* she became very angry and extremely unprofessional when I had kindle asked for my money back. She responded with the ***** courtesy from the school and like I say that was truly an insult. Im a hard worker and and honest person who doesnt deserve this kind of thing to happen to them. Id like a refund from the school and warn others so they know not to be taken by this company . I have tried calling several people on boards of real estate before taking my concerns to you all but no luck on responses. So thank you for your time I hope you can help me resolve this matter.     Hope all is well.  In response to the email received with regards to the complaint filed.  Please see attached a clear outline of all communication and registration form to include the schools policy.

     

    In short this particular student has been pretty difficult to accommodate with regards to her constant unsure travel plans to visit her significant other in Marathon, Florida.  As a result I have made special arrangements to teach a class ONLY for her to assist with obtaining her real estate license due to her persistence and intentions on her relocation plans to the Marathon area.  Additional, I have also ***** a textbook to her home address in IL per her request which was NOT paid for.  The school have covered the cost of the shipping which was also never reimbursed.  

     

    On June 13th, 2022 upon arrival at the school in Marathon she was not there, as a matter of fact I didnt hear from her until the first day of school when I called her and she began to explain that she had a court appearance on the said day and forgot all about class.  She explained that she was having a bit of personal problems with her daughters father and apologizes for the no show and no call, and proceeded to asked for a refund.  Based on the reply of the refund request she started constantly harassing the office with phone calls.  She was informed by management that if she continues to harassed the office that she will leave me no choice, but to report her to the authorities.  The calls stopped immediately and have not heard anymore from her.

     

    The company has been in business for quite some time now and we have NEVER had any complaints until now.  Please feel free to contact me directly on my cell phone ************ office phone ************ or via email with any additional information needed.

    I am rejecting this response because:********************* statements are a flat out lie. I did not simply forget about class and call last minute. I sent her an actual summons from my attorney here in ******* that says I must appear in court in ample time . I could not attend class because of that. I had to call the office several times because no one was responding to me with this matter. I was not notified by the school to stop calling. I asked to speak to the gentleman in charge that  ***** and the receptionist at the school kept referring to, to which I was denied and could not even get them to give me his name or information. I did pay ******* in full that should have covered the textbook I never received that ******************* claims she sent actually I believe I do have all my texts from her where she sent to the wrong address. I had reached out out to ******************* about the textbook I never received I got no response from her. I offered to pay the shipping on the book as well and she said no its okay I will cover shipping it to you. The last time I spoke with ******************* in the phone she was extremely vile and unprofessional, which was a total turnaround from when I first started chatting with her about school. I took this very seriously and took all the appropriate measures even following through with applying for my professional business license. I had my fingerprints done and all the documentation that I had needed to proceed and be ahead of the game to get this all going for school so it was a one week intensive class then I had planned on turning around and taking my boards immediately after that.

     I have since made connections with some very successful realtors in the Marathon area and I had asked them if they had heard of this school and ******************* and no one was familiar. They did how refer me to ********** a very reputable company. I feel as if I have been absolutely scammed.
