I dropped my vehicle off for a manual transmission rebuild. The vehicle had a ****** twin disk clutch in it and I mentioned I wanted to maintain the same clutch. ****** no longer makes that style clutch but instead sells a conversion kit to a throw-out bearing style clutch which they do sell. I provided on at least 3 different occasions screenshots from Summit Racing of the clutch I wanted. ***** stated this was a very complicated clutch that I didn't need and he would like for me to consider a simpler clutch style. I agreed to allow him to order them but stated I still wanted my clutch ordered MULTIPLE TIMES and nearly every time I spoke with him. 3 clutches were ordered, none of which were the one I wanted and none of these clutches worked on my car. When confronted ***** stated that conversion kit was too complicated and not necessary for my car. ***** agreed to order the clutch finally but it was now sold out and backordered 30 days, so I had to go with another clutch. Now 8 weeks later the and after difficulty EVERY STEP of the way, I was supposed to pick my vehicle up Monday but the shop somehow just realized the universal joint was broken. Now Saturday I was informed the rear-end was "blown out of the car." I come down to test drive and leave with the car to find my rear axle has the cover off, someone is going through it without authorization. ***** the shop manager is demanding the vehicle will not leave the shop until I pay them to have the rear axle rebuilt. I call the police and they agree to release the vehicle with no warranty. I get in the vehicle to inspect before putting it on the tow truck to find out the transmission is very difficult going into gear, the center console was installed incorrectly (Probably damaged in the process) none of the wires were connected and 2 of them were pinched off, one of which was hanging out the side of the console. Shop agreed to look at transmission again but is refusing responsibility for the axle.

I brought my car here 8 months ago because of a rumbling sound coming from my front right wheel bearing. My car was under warranty, and this was the only mechanic approved in my area. After my first visit, I was told the problem was fixed, but I would need to come back in a week to fix the other three wheel bearings. I heard the same sound when I drove off the property. I brought it back the following week, and it stayed there for over a week before they called to tell me they found another problem. They would be replacing the steering knuckle as well as the other 3 wheel bearings. They had my car another week. When I got it back, the sound was still happening. I had to bring it there a total of 4 times, approx. 3 weeks in their possession. After picking it up the 4th time (it had been there 5 days), my car still made the sound. I asked him point blank if he did anything to the car. He said they tightened everything, and I was assured that I just have an old car (17 Corolla) that makes more road noise than Im used to. So, I tried to get used to it. But over the last few months, its gotten worse. I lost a hubcap on 7/17 because of the vibrations when my car is in motion. I panicked and immediately took my car to a new mechanic close by to check it out. Turns out, the front right wheel bearing is beyond bad. I called Richmond & spoke to the owners wife, who asked why I didnt bring my car back sooner. I explained that I tried multiple times and was constantly told there was no issue. She said I could expect a call from ***** the next morning. I was told that he lives and dies by his warranty many times, so I was expecting him to fix this. By 8:45, I still hadnt heard, so I called the shop, no answer. Called again @9:45, no answer. My mom called and ***** answered. So I called again and he answered. The conversation became hostile quickly, and I was berated once again for not coming in sooner, and ultimately told to go f*** myself.

In February of 2024,Took a transmission in to be rebuilt, which to me means take out bad parts and replace with new ones. After getting the trans back and installing it, it was worse than when we took it up there. Took it back as it was under warranty, figuring it needs a few tweeks and should have it back in a week....not so... after soooooo many excuses, and this was my favorite one..."Whoever worked on it last put in the wrong parts"...THEY WERE THE **** WHO WORKED ON IT LAST!!!! So 10 weeks later still no truck just attitude and nasty comments like it's our fault they don't know what they are doing. ***** stated he lost money on this job. All I can say is Karma is a you know what...do a good honest job and you won't cost yourself money. We originally paid $1500 when the job was first done, but after returning the transmission to be fixed correctly we took back the $1500 and paid $500 until the job was repaired correctly.

I was waiting to respond to this complaint until I spoke to my customer *** Grammar. He has no idea who this **** Grammar is. He was pretty upset when I showed him what this person is claiming and told me he would reach out to you. I assume that has not happened since you are showing this closed. Whoever this person is has no idea of the facts and everything that she or he has written is false.

I got a new transmission put in my car here and when I picked up the car it wasn't completely finished. It took about 3-4 weeks. I picked up the car June 10th 2023. The airbox was not bolted down, the steering column bolt was loose, the boot around the steering column was not on, and a vacuum line was missing. Also the plastics under the car were all zip-tied on, because the fasteners were thrown away. ***** and I spoke and he sent out a tow truck to come get my car and thoroughly go through it over again. I was told the tech who worked on my car was fired. While ***** has the car, he pulls the motor and transmission again to recheck what the previous tech did. We make a list of all parts that need to be replaced that were missing, and they fix what they can. This list includes- driver and passenger side wheel well liners. Air dams for both sides. New airbox, upper and lower. And new mounting hardware for the airbox and air intake. After I leave the shop for the second time, the car starts making a popping metallic noise while driving. This continues and gets worse as i drive for the next 3 months. Later I discover that one of the 8 bolts for the subframe (that hold up the motor and transmission) is missing, and the one next to it is loose. I had been driving around with a major bolt missing from my frame! The past month and a half I have been calling about my parts, so that my car can be put back together fully again. ***** says they have them, but cannot find them. I feel like I am no longer a priority because I already paid. I am sure this shop was once very reputable because I see mostly 5 star reviews, but I have not had a good experience. ***** is always kind, and reassuring, and appears to have done everything he can do make this right. Months later though, and *****+ miles of driving, and I still am driving a car around with several pieces missing.Voicemail box has been full for months, and the shop has not picked up the phone.

I asked them to fix my brake pads and seat sensor. I paid first and they fixed the brakes, but they looked at my seat for about 30 minutes and didn't do anything and just told me to wait. I asked for a refund for the cost of fixing the sensor and they gave me a refund. He said he couldn't do it and screamed at me to go back.

I took my vehicle to them at the beginning of June to fix a drive train issue that was warranted by my warranty company. They kept the car over 3 weeks, and then after that had me sign off that repairs were done so the fee would be covered by my warranty company. It took me 5 months to get them to complete the repair properly. They removed the drive shaft in June so from June to November I drove without one. Dropped the car off almost weekly and it was never fixed. Always had an excuse of some kind and then proceeded to get rude to me because I was upset the car was not fixed. They even refused to give me the parts that were paid for so I could take it to someone else. I cannot believe these people are allowed to be in business at this point.

My 2007 Hummer H3 broke down 9/30/22 while traveling through Melbourne, FL. The first receipt for repair is dated 10/1/22. Account* ******. I paid $3,185.94 (down payment of $2,202.86) for a refurbished transfer case, a driveshaft yoke, fluid replacements, and labor. The second receipt is dated 10/28/22 for follow-up repairs. The vehicle has remained leaking since we (me and my husband, ****** *****, who is listed on the receipts) picked it up. It was noted on 10/29/22 by Tires Plus: "SUGGEST TAKING TO DEALERSHIP OR TRANSMISSION SHOP FOR TRANSFER CASE IS LEAKING." It was noted on 1/31/23 by Everything Automotive: "FRT DIFF DRIVE SHAFT OUTPUT SEAL LAKING, TCASE FRT OUTPUT SHAFT SEAL LEAKING, REAR DIFF PINION SEAL SEEPING." which is all related to the work I received from Richmond Transmission. Frank, the owner, has assured me multiple times they will cover the cost of any repairs due to warranty and find us a transmission shop in Jacksonville, FL to take it to. There has been a severe lack of communication with mostly no response at all, and I am still waiting. Richmond Transmission employee was notified of the most recent mechanic visit on 1/31/23 and said they would be in contact to set up an appointment. I have not received any call back (it is now 3/17/23). At this point, I would like a refund of the services provided by Richmond Transmission so that I can cover the expenses myself to get the vehicle fixed correctly. At least a refund of the deposit: $2,202.86. I have given Frank more than enough time to figure this out. The part numbers on my receipts are non-existent when trying to search for them online to get an estimates of cost. We also accrued hotel, rental car, and gas fees during the back and forth the first month, so I would think the deposit refund is a fair compromise. Attached are receipts from all the businesses that are mentioned.

I paid *****, the owner of Richmond transmission to rebuild my transmission. His technician did not replace the internal parts for the rebuild and they gave me my vehicle back. As I was driving, other parts of the transmission were damaged in the process. My vehicle has been at his shop for over a month waiting for parts. The parts have arrived and my vehicle is still waiting to be repaired. I ask when the repairs will be complete I receive a different excuse every day. ***** and his associate in the office have used foul language and cursing when they speak to me. They tell me when they feel like it they will get to it and I have to deal with it.

The customer is misleading in where he knew we had a defective part after the build. Due to parts chain issues it took an extended period of time to source a replacement. The customer was even provided with the part number in where until his father got involved, was well aware of the scarcity of the defect part. We ultimately were able to locate one that was refurbished because that was all we could locate. The transmission was installed and vehicle returned to the customer but not without a great deal of drama.
