I went to this salon for bridal hair when I was eloping in Florida. I went in with a simple hair idea and the salon owner said she could do it but pushed extensions for the style. She said I needed them if I wanted the style I showed her. I’ve never had extensions, I know nothing about them. I asked her the price and she stayed quiet. My mother in law said, “just get them. It’s your big day”. Neither of us knew the cost. When I went to check out, the owner charged $800. Obviously this was shocking. They had no prices displayed anywhere and didn’t disclose prices when we asked. They just randomly out loud said, “yes, yes 18” extensions, yes those are expensive” as if we should have known but why not say that while they were saying I needed them? We of course paid because I had to leave for my ceremony but when we called them to try to figure out a resolution (because $800 is a lot of money when unexpected) the owner was very rude. She came at us with comments such as, “well if you didn’t want to pay then why did you?”. It was a very odd, unprofessional demeanor when we just wanted a resolution. She then said she would give us the tip we left back. She never did. They charged the full amount and still applied the tip to the charge. She then wouldn’t answer any of our numbers, as if they were monitoring the area code we were calling from. It was all just very disheartening. If prices would have been disclosed, I wouldn’t have gotten extensions. This was a huge financial hit and all I wanted was for them to understand they can’t do this to customers. They can’t just take advantage of people not knowing. It’s not right. They need to disclose their costs up front and based off reviews I read, I am not the first customer who was shocked when they went to pay. They seem to be upcharging services without any disclosure on what their services cost.
