Im scheduled a move in date with the building (*****) and reserved the elevator. I arrived at my designated time with a moving truck and movers. I rang the buzzer, as signage directed. I was told to go to the second floor, but after climbing the stairs, the door was locked. I attempted to call, no one was there - I spoke with the answering service and they said they would leave an urgent message as they were unable to reach anyone. I emailed. I waited, I tried everything I could do to find someone in the office so I could complete the final steps of the payment and get keys. I tried for 2.5 hours. No one ever came, called, or emailed. I had to send the movers away to store my things overnight and then pay for storage and a second day of moving and missing work. When ***** called me the next day, there was no accountability. She told me I was supposed to go to the elevator and go to the lobby-which was actually the second floor. She blamed me for not knowing this which is ridiculous. No one was there and it cost me over $509 with no credit from the business. When reaching Greystar, the owners, I was also told the building did nothing and it was my fault. They did not want to admit no one was there. Ive heard similar complaints from others too and I think this is gross negligence where a building manager knows you are moving in, with a signed lease, and does not allow you to move in, causing you to incur great cost and have no choice to accept it because you have a signed lease and no other home. Horrible.
