contacted African Braids on October 28, 2022 via text message requesting knotless braids waist length. Queen informed style would be $285 plus cost of hair on phone. asked me to send picture of desired hair color. .I sent screen shot of color. ***** called agreed on date time price was told to complete appointment send $35 Zelle which was non refundable. sent the deposit and screen shot via txt. November 6, 2022, get call to confirmappointment from Queen whom says she has me scheduled for SHOULDER LENGTH BOX BRAIDS. Per original conversation, and txt message, I requested waist length knotless braids. I am told I was wrong that I never asked for waist length knotless braids and even if I did it would be $360. Due to misinformation, and lack of trust for this establishment, I asked to please refund deposit as they are unable to provide the services agreed on for the price quoted. ***** said business partner would call back. same evening, ***** calls me stating she apologized for confusion but would do box braids (different style than requested) waist length for $285 plus hair. At this point I do not feel comfortable doing business with African Braids I declined the offer. ***** agrees to refund deposit but I must drive to Miami, over an hour drive from where I live, to collect. I informed her I would submit a request via Zelle to make it easier. November 12, I inquire about the refund no response. November 13, I get call from person whom Im assuming is Queens business partner. After call on 13th, receive text message stating I can get deposit in person. if they are able to receive via Zelle they should be able to return via Zelle and as mentioned above I sent a request which is a simple click to accept the request and send deposit back to me. November 18, I noticed ***** request was declined by African Braids on November 14 the day after my last conversation with them. *** tried calling various times and no response. At this point, this is fraud.
