I am filing a complaint against Granada Insurance Company for their handling and denial of my claim for damages sustained during a move with ******************* on September 5, ********** Muscle Movers assured me they were insured for damages and provided a contract outlining their liability. However, the move was mishandled, taking 11 hours to reach the first location, with the second location left unserviced. Several items, including an office desk, chair, sofa, and crushed boxes, were damaged.I reported these damages to Granada Insurance, but despite months of communication with their claims adjuster, ****** ***** **** responses were delayed, and communication was unhelpful. Ultimately, Granada denied my claim, stating their policy with ******************* does not cover damages to personal possessions under the movers care. This contradicts the assurances given by ******************* and raises concerns about Granadas transparency. The denial caused financial loss, as I had to hire another moving company and replace or repair damaged items.I request the BBBs assistance to:1.Investigate Granada Insurances policy clarity and practices.2.Advocate for fair coverage of the damages.3.Hold Granada accountable for unprofessional claim handling. This experience has been stressful and financially burdensome. Please contact me if further details are needed to support my complaint.Business Response

In April 2023, my vehicle was involved in a collision caused by a truck driver, resulting in damages exceeding $11,000. Granada Insurance failed to respond to our calls, forcing us to file a claim through our own insurance. The repair process took 25 days, and Granada Insurance eventually acknowledged the invoiced amount and made payments for rental expenses. However, they have ignored the extensive damages, refused to compensate for missed work, and disregarded the diminished value of my vehicle. Granada Insurance conducted their own assessment and determined the diminished value of our vehicle to be $1,100. However, dissatisfied with their evaluation, we decided to hire an external company to conduct a comprehensive value report. This report cost us nearly $400 but provided a more accurate representation of the diminished value resulting from the collision. We promptly submitted this report, along with receipts from the sale of our vehicle, to Granada Insurance. To our dismay, Granada Insurance has failed to review the documentation we provided or acknowledge the extensive damages exceeding $11,000. Furthermore, they have refused to compensate us for the missed work resulting from this ordeal. Despite our repeated attempts to communicate with their representative, we have been met with silence or empty promises. The representative claims to be awaiting approval from her superiors, but her lack of responsiveness and evasive emails suggest a lack of genuine concern for our situation and indicate bad faith. We have requested to speak with a manager, hoping to escalate the matter and find a resolution. However, our request has gone unanswered, leaving us feeling unheard and frustrated. Granada Insurance is failing to fulfill their obligations.Business Response

I had a generator shipped to a residential home and it was left there without anyone inspecting it and when I realized it had been delivered I inspected it to find big damage to the unit making it totaled and useless. I turned it into GIC and they denied my claim cause I didnt do the damage.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:it is expected to be covered by my insurance carrier when a legitimate claim is brought forth especially since 2006 I have had no claims but as soon as I do I get rejected quick and when I called to talk about it I got met with an irate person that wanted to yell at me from the beginning of conversation and was very very rude trying to run me off without any legitimate real explanation as to why I couldnt have my claim excepted. I was informed from the insurance agency that I purchased from that it should have been a man acceptable claim but just get the run around ex. Its their policy to not say anything about anything so they dont have to cover anything. This is insurance fraud. I request a legit response not hiding behind some made up policy. Policy isnt law and for someone to pay in a policy for 8 years no claims to be shunted so harshly without explanation is not acceptable. I request arbitration, the only other way is civil court which is highly unnecessary that I should have to go that route for a legit claim. I suppose the policy to not say anything and the court cost attorneys etc is the way of GIC. I suppose many dont follow through to much trouble and expenses. 100% scam I request binding arbitration or the insurance commissioners or equivalent info so I can let them know what Im dealing with. It has always been my policy to not throw my money away on things that do not benefit me in some way. So far GIC has just cashed checks from me and shunted me at first sign of a claim. Ridiculous! Policy says dont respond what a comp out and obvious attempt to brush off paying clients when they need GIC services. Can I get a copy of this policy for my records to be sure its really a policy or just another quick brush off.
Sincerely,

I am rejecting this response because:
It is total avoidance and ignorance, I think this must be protocol for a big insurance company but so disappointed after a decade of payments with no claims, the first claim denied and when called to get reason why I was denied I got chewed out by the representative and no matter what he didnt care. Now Im stuck with a $12k judgement because I couldnt get any help after I was told that if I were to be sued they would step in but they didnt. They also told me not to respond to a summons until the legal department could review it and at the last second to respond they sent me a response basically big words and a big dance. They seem to dodge left when you go right and dodge right when you go left. I really think that I was not treated correctly with my case and verbally when called for the reason why I was denied. They caused harm overall plus took my money for 10 years. Why do we need insurance if it wont cover your claim.
Sincerely,

I am rejecting this response because:nothing to add to nothing equals nothing so thanks for nothing looks like what I paid for over last 9 years was for nothing I see that Granada is full of a bunch of nothing. Nothing to add thats about right unless youre adding all the money with no claims. This would have been a platform to discuss my claims denial instead of ******* Commissioner of Insurance Regulations, ******* ********** of ********* Services or an attorney, no wonder insurance companies have so many law suits and are going under. Ill let all the different agencys that you have nothing to add to nothing and want to give your customers the ole runaround, take their money and hide when needed. In my opinion Granada is a big sham that gets an easy paycheck because were required to have insurance to pull permits but its just a mirage full of nothing. I have a legit claim and it should be covered like I was told it should. If you refuse to address my concern I have to start with the attorney and complaints to all agencies I can find until its explained properly or when I get relief for my claim. Im sure Im just nothing but Ill try til you provide something.
Sincerely,

GIC is the insurance company for the driver that was shipping my vehicle. The driver damaged my vehicle during the shipping and is 100% at fault. I have a claim number ******** and ********************************************** is the gentlemen working it. It has been 2 months now and a month and a half since they received the pictures from the adjuster. I am leaving ******* voicemails everyday and he will not call me back with an update. They are dragging this out as long as possible to avoid paying for the damage. Incredibly unprofessional company.Business Response
