    I have used one of the links on social media advertisements to check discounted insurance options.provided a good bit of information, to be given a quote and only to get bombarded by a ton of solicitations by insurance brokers that may or may not have my details and waste alot of time including at times literally offer same insurance like Allstate, I now have 3 similar Allstate quotes and phone is still ringing with more agents offering quotes.Does not help me, nor it helps the people calling because while competition is healthy, why waste everyone's time on both ends if the result is the same?**** should be shut down and if they want to gather data and have few agents call, agents should be vetted and all agents should know to go with information provided from the start and not spend time asking questions. Improve your processes before doing any more of wasting of people's time. I cant believe brokers pay for this service, they must see that the value is terrible, you just **** people off, just read the reviews!

    After seeing many Otto Insurance commercials on ******* purporting to be an Insurance company that lowers insurance costs by cutting out the middlemen, I visited their website and began filling in the information that was being requested to receive an auto/home insurance quote: name, spouse's name, home address, email, makes, models, and model yr of our cars, size of our home, and my email address. When they requested my phone number I hesitated and decided to look for reviews on the business, or BBB ratings, before I provided any further information (so I did not provide my phone number). I then read all of these negative experience reviews and complaints, and accusations of them being a dishonest spam company that sells all of the personal information of the consumers who provide their information in good faith expecting to receive an honest, straight forward quote from "Otto Insurance", only to be inundated with emails and phone calls and robo calls, and texts from every major insurance company under the sun. I only provided my and my spouse's information (limited information in my spouse's case - only her birth date and the fact that the 2nd ****** was my spouse) up to the point where my phone number was being requested. And this all occurred just within the last hour, and the only contact informationi provided was my home address and my email. But after reading all of these complaints, and zero (0) positive experiences, I would like the BBB to prevent them from disseminating or using that information in any way, or from selling the information I provided, or from contacting me via the email I provided, or by mail.

    I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. I observed, while reading the many consumer complaints against Otto Insurance - and every response from **** to those complaints, that **** invariably denies having any record of the complaining consumer ever visiting it's site. Nevertheless, I find the proposed resolution/agreement ultimately arrived at to be satisfactory if **** does indeed abide by the terms of the stated resolution.

    I filled out the forms through **** because they promised $38/ month auto insurance. Well the only quote they provided was for $251/ month. Over 6 times the amount they claimed. Also, in less than 24 hours since then I have had over 12 phone calls, double that amount of emails and several text messages. They very unfairly and very deceptively took my information and sold it without my permission. I believe I deserve compensated for that abuse at double the amount they received. Or, they can make sure I get that $38/month insurance.

    This consumer provided prior express written consent to be contacted by the companies that contacted them and that consent, evidenced by their e-signature, was recorded on our website.  Any calls or texts which they received were pursuant to their request and consent.  However, we have already placed them on our do not call list and made appropriate notifications of their desire to not receive further calls.  If they have any further questions or concerns we encourage them to reach out to us directly to discuss via email at *****************************************************

    I did not go to your website, it was in the chime app where I saw the link. And you can twist it however you wish, but the truth is, your advertising is very misleading to say the least. You count on the fact that no one will read all the fine print, and you prey on the consumers need to save money. When in fact you know that no one is getting $38 a month insurance and that you are deceptively taking their information and profiting from that. Well I never knowingly agreed to that. Therefore I believe I deserve the money that was generated off of my info.

What I got instead was my info sold and an almost immediate onslaught of texts, phone calls and emails. But what I didn't get was $38 a month auto insurance premium, not even close. In fact the only quote I was given was for 6 times that amount.

    I contacted Otto Insurance after seeing one of their many commercials promising lower car insurance premiums. After being rerouted from their website for the third time I should have realized I made a terrible mistake. Unfortunately, I put my personal email and phone number in to request quotes from this company. Instead of providing me with quotes they decided to sell my data to every insurance company in my area. I have since been averaging 7-8 calls a day from *********, Provide Insurance, State Farm, ********, Progressive, etc. I have also been receiving spam text messages from each of the companies. I entered into this process as a willing participant and even answered several of the first calls I received. When I would answer, there would be no person on the other end and repeatedly hear a number of beeps. This has made me incredibly uncomfortable and questioning what other personal data I willingly handed over to this company. After reading some reviews on line I can't believe I was stupid enough to give this company my information. I am not asking for much besides the BBB to step in and help inform consumers that this shady action is going on in the hopes others do not fall victim to data fishing.

    Hi there, I searched our whole system for this persons contact information based on what they submitted to the BBB and there is no record of this person using our site.  If i can get their real phone number and email address that they used when they claim to have submitted to our site , that would be the most helpful piece of information.  As of right now, they have no history with our business.  I have added them to the DNE/DNC list on our end with the phone and email that was provided on the complaint.

    Otto Insurance markets themselves as an insurance company that cuts out the middleman to save their customers the most money. They don't cut out the middleman at all, they SELL ALL YOUR DATA TO INSURANCE AGENCIES... THE MIDDLEMAN! They are very deceptive in their practices and not upfront about what they do. Otto Insurance should have an F rating with the BBB.I request that all my data is deleted from your system IMMEDIATELY!!! Never sell my data to anyone else or market anything to me ever again.

    I am rejecting this response because: That is only the first part of making this right. What is Otto Insurance doing to follow honest marketing practices? Otto Insurance is just collecting data and selling it to the highest bidder. If they want to be a marketplace to shop different insurance policies, that's totally acceptable. But Otto Insurance promotes themselves as an insurance company that cuts out the middle man then sells your data to all the middle men. I need a response from the company explaining what they are doing to right this issue.

    Also BBB, how is it that all customer reviews are 1 star but **** has a B- rating. I'd like to make sure my complaint affects their BBB rating. Just because someone from **** "fixed" the issue doesn't mean their practices shouldn't affect their rating.

    OTTO Insurance dumped UNWANTED email promotions on my National and PA enrolled Do Not Call Lists cellphone. Blocking and reporting the prostitute as spam does not protect victims.

    100% FALSE advertisement that needs to be amended. I submitted a request for a quote for homeowners insurance on their website. They took all the pertinent information & said they were shopping for the best rates. The results came up stating to click on the links provided to get my personalized quotes. There were ZERO results, only links to, again, enter all of my information &, again, "shop for the best rate". I then received emails from more scammers requesting all my information, again, so THEY could shop for the best rate for me. It's a bunch of lies to get people's info so they can sell it to other companies. Do NOT give **** "Insurance" your information. It only slows your search for insurance down, & adds endless frustrating, wasteful ******************* that you will have to field.

    I put my information into a website called Otto insurance and they keep having random people call and Email me. I would like to have my information deleted from they're system.
