I received bill by unknown Company, RASF for reading Xray's which were done at the Hospital and not from a separate provider . So I called Hospital they didn't know what I was talking about. Company RASF also mentioned a claim was filed with my insurance company, when I looked at my claim history there wasn't a claim so I called they also verified there wasn't a claim. So I called RASF to clear up problem with the statement they sent, Rep asked personal questions which I only gave my email, I also told her I paid the Hospital, she couldn't give me a straight answer. I received a text message from Radiology Associates of South Florida on January 12th, **** saying I had a balance. After looking at the bill I noted that the dates of service were for August 8th and 31st of 2023. So they took 5 months before sending me a bill. They also never billed my insurance. I have no recollection of even having this testing done and nothing on my calendar about it. If this bill is accurate, they need to provide information such as which physician ordered it so I can be sure of the legitimacy of it and then they need to follow proper billing procedures and first bill my insurance before trying to collect directly from the patient.Customer Answer

I finally found out what the bill was for. They improperly billed it and my insurance refused to pay it. After about a dozen phone calls to them asking them to properly code it so my insurance would pay and them saying they would fix it and then not doing it and insisting I pay out of pocket I had to launch a formal appeal with my insurance and let them handle it since the company refused to stop harassing me for money I did not owe. My insurance company is still handling it but they have assured me that legally the company will eventually have to code it properly or stop harassing me all together since the problem is proven to be on their end.Initial Complaint

On February 27th, 2023 I received a bill an amount. I proceeded to pay it and received a confirmation as paid. I eventually figured out that insurance was not billed for this after paying. I got in contact with the company through chat and phone who advised I wait till insurance tries to bill. Insurance has since billed and this company keeps telling them that I don't owe any additional money. The insurance paid and so did I. I'm still waiting for a refund check 7 months later.Initial Complaint

Beware of RASF. I keep getting a bill from my sons hospital visit and am being charged personally when I am constantly calling them every month to provide the insurance information they need to bill on my behalf. They will not tell me whether they have billed my insurance or submitted the claim because my account is unverified although I have provided them with all the information they need, and they do not tell how how to verify my account. Instead they keep telling me I will receive a new bill in ***** days after I give them the insurance info, to which I still receive a bill the next month. They are clearly running some kind of scam in which they are purposely not submitting a claim to the insured and instead making the patient think they owe the charged amount. This is completely unethical and they should not be allowed to operate as a medical business. There needs to be an investigation into this. My insurance company has already called and given them the information, ID and group number, and they are waiting for the claim to be sent to them. This is outright fraud and no hospital should have a contract with them. Call your insurance company and have them reach out for you. Do not pay them if you have insurance. They are very shady. I never saw this doctor or medical group ever. They are billing $1121.00 for a service on 12/8/22. I was working that day also. When I call they ask for personal information and I wont give any.Initial Complaint

I went to the emergency room at Baptist, received a large bill, and paid the amount. Then, I received this unexpected bill from RASF for the ultrasound (paid for by the hospital bill).
