April 30, 2024 purchased a ticket for my son, booking number *******, through lookbyfare. Was a flight to get my son from ******************* to ************, ** (OAJ). He was denied boarding due to fare denied by ***** due to unpublished fare and he couldn't use the ticket. He is in the United States Marines and had to be back by morning, so I had to purchase a ticket from ***** last minute for $950 for him to make it back before the beginning of the day formation.Delta, after calling customer service after purchasing, worked with me and refunded some of that since they said lookbyfare is basically a scam and they had booked him on a wild flight (including LA, which was never part of our itinerary, just to get him back to base from *****) and then lookbyfare canceled it all except for the Tampa to OAJ flight and tried to book for a much lower price. We are out $254.51 owed to us by lookbyfare, and I just spoke to them again today, and I again was told just another 7-14 business days and we should have our refund. May 28, 2024 is when the flight was scheduled for and when we called lookbyfare to try to get our refund, and still to no aveil. If anyone is reading this, DO NOT trust this company. I was explained how they do things from the airlines and I will never use again clearly. The price we paid for the one-way ticket wasn't much cheaper than it would've been going directly through Delta so lessen learned.
