    I applied for an apartment and gave them $200 using my debit card ending in ****. I was approved in 20 minuets after applying but I was originally told I could get 1/2 month free because my son worked for an employer in the area, which I understood to be discounted off the first month's rent. When I was approved I was told the deposit was $1500 plus whole month's rent and 1/2 month off would be the second month. I was not able to come up with this much money for move in so I requested to cancel my application on July 26th within the 48 hour time period so that I could get my $200 back. It was close to the time I needed to move out from my (at that time) apartment so I requested for the money to be returned to my debit card instead of mailed on July 26th, then again on Aug 4th. I had to move out on Aug 12th and I did not think I would get the check in time because I was told it could take 3 weeks. However, I received a check for $200 on 8/6th, which on 8/4 ******* (apt rep) told me she had accounting cancel (and told me for the second time ) and she would have them put money back on my debit card, but I am still waiting for the refund back to my debit card. When I call the apartment office no one seems to want to speak to me and keep referring me back to talk to *******, who does not seem to think this issue is such a priority and is not been helpful with the correct information as you can see looking at the texts that I submitted with this complaint. The only way to speak with ******* has been thru text messaging, which she gave me in the beginning to contact her at ************ and has since gotten upset that I have messaged her about this issue again. Please help me get my refund back to my debit card ending in ****. Thank you, *************************

    I moved from Meadow Brooke over 4 months ago and I'm still yet to receive any checks from them regarding my refundable security deposit. I was told I'd be receiving over $1200 from my $1300 deposit but yet they ignore my messages and calls until weeks have past and give me the same story every time, "we are varying your address". For four months? Florida statue states they have 30 days from move out to return my deposit, it's been four times that length now. Meadow Brooke is blatantly committing fraud in a time when people need their deposits back the most.

We have been working with you consistently to attempt to ensure that you have received your security deposit check. I know it can be frustrating, but we have voided and reissued your check several times. We are doing everything on our end we can to get this to you. Meadow Brook Preserve has no benefit in withholding a deposit and we do everything we can to make sure our previous residents get the most of their refund they can. We will continue working with you until this is resolved.
