Tollot&C LLC hired Meridiapro (***********************************) as the General Contractor to build a house to put onthe market. Pursuant to contract, Meridiapro, and its subcontractors, installed limestone tile flooring in the Home. Following completion of the project, the Homeowners discovered issues with the flooring. These issues included tiles that were moving and sounding hollow. Thereafter, Meridiapro attempted to fix the tile in various areas. However, after several fixes it appeared that the installation issues were more widespread. Meridiapro then decided to remove significant areas of the floor. However, the newly installed tiles did not match the color of the existing tiles and some tiles sounds hollow again. In addition, Meridiapro used the wrong sealant, causing additional issues. Meridiapro also did not complete the work, leaving the entry way from the garage and the laundry unfinished. As a result of the defects in the initial installation, as well as the defects in Meridiapros attempted repairs, the current Homeowners obviously demanded to have the work repaired properly by another tile contractor. We tried to contact Meridiapro for involve his insurance and find a shared solution but meridiapro substantially is vanished no more answers or contacts, seen the situation in the last past weeks we did the job totally at our own expenses demo and reinstalling sq.ft.1050 of new limestones.I won't go into the merits of how the work was done badly, it would be too long, in any case I found in this vicissitude the behavior of Meridiapro/*********************************** unfair and unacceptable, my suggestion is stay away from this company, will save you money and *****.

    Business Response

    Date: 05/11/2023

Business response taken verbally by BBB:

We have previously resolved these issues near Thanksgiving time, and the homeowner has not made us aware of any other outstanding issues with the floors currently so we are assuming there is nothing wrong with the floors at this time.

I am rejecting this response because:

This is ridiculous, ************************** is a liar, he know exactly the problem that he caused with the clients.......I tried to contact him many times by phone, mail and certified letters but nothing is happened, ************************** and his company just vanished. Nothing was fixed! Meridiadiapro caused big problems trying to resolve the previous issues, the first time they installed the tiles in a mud set burning the glue because it was too dry, the second time because the surface was already furnished they take off partially the tiles and re- install them with the same material but different color that didn't match with all the remnants tiles and more, for save time and costs they re installed the tiles on top of the burned glue without create a proper space and level creating a new problem with levels and again without resolve the hollow effects.

Because Meridiapro wanished we was obliged to remake again the job by ourself, leveling with sanding the machines all the surface, primerizing the new base, self leveling the surface and re glue the new tiles, this time in a proper mode and in the right color. Our Clients Mr and ******************* are available to testify all the story and the behavior of ************************* and his Company.

    Sincerely,
