  I registered my manuscript with the Library of Congress with a one time charge of $35.00 in May of 2023. However, somehow, Copyright Registry over in Fort Myers, FL, with its bogus phone numbers, leached itself onto my process and ended up charging me $24.00 per month. For what? Are you the Library of Congress? I think NOT! I'm seeking a resolution outside of the BBB and only want to leave my complaint for others to know Copyright Registry scammed me out of $384.00!!!! Also, I have to select a star to leave my review. Please know they get zero stars from me because they're crooks.

  The $24 is the Copyright Infringement Protection monthly fee.  With this program, we used advanced technology to scan online marketplaces, social media networks,and other online channels for potential infringements of your copyrighted material monthly.  There is an option on the last step of the application to click NO THANKS if the customer is not interested in that service. Our company provides a service to register our customer's work with the ******************* and that is what we provided for that customer.

  This is a SCAM. This site is meant to lure folks looking to register material with the US Copyright Office. It poses as the Copyright Office then charges you for "registering" said material. Furthermore, the price charged does not match cost stated on the website. The business may feel compelled to respond with some nonsense here, but fortunately my bank recognized them as FRAUD and declined the transaction. These people should be reported to *** and shut down.

  Please do not use Copyright Registry Online! They charge a service fee of 149.00 dollars to fill out the information you will need to fill out on the real Library of Congress website anyway. I was in a rush and my inexperience caused me to use them. They got me already, do not let them get you. Just go to the Library of Congress website directly and save yourself some money. They did create an account in the Library of Congress registry for me but you have to do it anyway when you go to copyright anything. It is just free when you go the the Library of Congress website.

  Read each of the reviews carefullythey are all true. I will have to resubmit my work in that their email could not handle a 24MB download even though I had no trouble sending by Gmail to associates; I split the *** into three parts and was assured the work could be pieced together. It was not; the work was submitted in three pieces even though I sent the complete file using a download service. Most importantly, they used my card information to pay the **** filing fee without permission.

  I would give Copyright Registry a zero star, but with that rating, I can not add comments. This is a scam operation. Buyer Beware! I realized it when I received a confirmation email without the information that should have been included, as stated on their website. I looked up their company info on my **************** bill and they had an incomplete mailing address. I sent an email to the address shown for the company, when I did a ****** search, but did not get a response. I finally found a place to email the company, on their website, since they did not have a phone number. When I asked for a refund, I was informed that they would hold my book hostage, if I cancelled my payment. The $148.95 that I spent for Copyright Registry to provide the services, was totally wasted. The government copyright office confirmed that Copyright Registry submitted my book information and paid $45, but they did not submit the information in the format that was required, so their request was not fulfilled. They were alerted to resubmit in a different format, which they never did. As a result, I did not receive my copyright number. I had to pay a separate fee directly to the government copyright office, to get the number for my book publishing. I hope this helps others, so that you will not be scammed! Go directly to the government website and be careful that you do not get redirected to other copyright sites, thinking that you are still in the government site!
