On 8/15/2024, the State of Florida filed felony charges against Reid McDaniel related to his marketplace activities (Filed in Lee County, FL Case # 24-CF-016850). Specifically, Mr. McDaniel was charged with:
• Second Degree felony charge of Embezzle-Misapply Insurance Premium 20k under 100k
• Second Degree felony charge of Larceny-Grand Theft $20,000 or more Less than $100,000
In the complaint the State of Florida alleges that Reid McDaniel embezzled money paid to his company that was meant to be used for commercial insurance policies to insure an automotive business. The State of Florida also allege that Mr. McDaniel failed his fiduciary duty to his client by not promptly and accurately remitting these insurance premiums to a wholesale broker and did not oversee and protect the complainant's property and act in their best interests.
