Gator Boat Rentals- Marco Island FL I can't imagine how many people have been scammed by this owner. My son rented two skiffs for four days for our fishing group. One was delivered with a defective steering cable. When one of the skiffs steering went out we managed to get it operating slightly before it went out again. We lost three hours fishing one day and three the next waiting for a replacement boat. At the time we were waiting for the replacement boat the person delivering the boat said he knew it was the wrong cable for that boat yet they delivered it anyway! I'm not too fond of putting one's safety at risk so you can make a quick buck. The replacement boat was a pontoon. My son was fined for a panel that came off while in use. I was in the boat and NOBODY did anything destructive or harmful to the boat. I noticed the panel flopping in the wind a bit and thought nothing of it. I read a similar review that said the same thing happened and they were fined I believe $275 where a panel came off that was TAPED on! When I called the owner I tried to tell him our situation (when he allowed me to talk!). He told me we were being fines $275 and it should have been $420 due to labor. Not only did he refuse to compensate us for lost fishing time but he fined us for damage incurred that never occurred from us!! The owner was RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL, and COMPLETELY DISRESPECTFUL in dealing with this. He does not listen to reason and clearly cares little for the customer. I hope whoever reads this makes a wiser choice than we did. I recommend this company to NOONE and it does not deserve a one-star rating. If there was a negative rating it would be more appropriate! I suggest another rental company to avoid a headache and the problems that come with it! D
