I believe this insurance company is running a fraudulent business and taking advantage of a nationwide insurance crisis. On or about May 29, 2024 Joyn Operation Specialist ***** ***** sent our HOA an email link to pay the premium on this new building insurance policy (we were previously with ******** who no longer does business in **********). On our building application we noted that our "electric panel was outdated" and that we were waiting for city approvals etc. They had a photographer come by and take pictures of the building. On 6-18-24 a "Notice of Corrections" letter was received from Loss Control Survey 6/16/24 ***** *******, PRM Head of Loss Control. Requesting that corrections are made within **************************************************** insurance business understands that Electric Panels do not get upgraded in 30 days there are untility company and city permits involved. We made the corrections that we could (e.g., cutting the foliage away from the building". However, they wanted proof that we were starting the panel project. Our HOA manager explained the process and that we are waiting to be assigned a surveyor. The notice of cancellation was received and it cancelled on 9-23-24. On 12-16-24 after several requests they sent us $300. This company should have an escrow account for monies that are stuck in the underwriting process. If they already know they cannot underwrite buildings with old panels they should not accept the applications. No one from **** is returning emails now. It is automated responses emails. ***** A *****, *** President **************** HOA ******** ***** Premier Management ********************************************************

It seems that there has been a merger or some accounts were sold to Siriuspoint.  We received the check from Sirius Point.

This insurance company covered me from 5/20/2024 until 7/4/2024. The insurance company cancelled the policy and sent me a letter that i attached. They are charging me ******** from the ****** policy. The policy state they can only receive this amount if I cancel the policy. See the attached. They should only be entitled to the earned premium of the dates i had insurance with them as they canceled not me. The bill has to be adjusted. They refused to do so. This is unlawful.

*********** has delegated responsibility for policy and claim servicing of select surplus lines commercial property and general liability business to Joyn Insurance ************** (Joyn).  On behalf of ***********, **** issued general liability policy # SSIC-GLN02-*******-24 and property policy # SSIC-CFN01-*******-24 to 3868-**********************************. for the policy period May 20, 2024 to May 20, 2025.

The referenced policies were quoted subject to no losses per the loss run report provided by the insured/agent for ********* and a No Known Loss Letter for the ********* policy term. Joyn subsequently discovered loss history during the insureds ********* term. After contacting the binding broker, the full ********* loss runs were provided by the agent reflecting an open $475,000 general liability loss.
Joyn cancelled the policies due to material misrepresentation, as the risk would have been declined due to the size and type of loss.  A notice of cancellation for ********* ******************** was issued May 31, 2024, cancelling policy #SSIC-GLN02-*******-24 and policy # SSIC-CFN01-*******-24 effective July 4,2024.
The complaint alleges that the insured is not responsible for paying the minimum premium earned as outlined in the Minimum Premium Earned Endorsement of the referenced policies.  After further review by **** ******, Chief Underwriting Officer of Joyn, it has been determined that the Minimum Earned Premium (***) endorsement should not apply in this situation as it does not meet one of the three stipulated reasons for the *** to be applicable.  The pro-rata gross premium applicable to the General Liability policy is $1,511.64. The pro-rata gross premium applicable to the Property policy is $1,224.30.  The policy has been cancelled and any return premium due to the insured has been processed.
At the time of the complaint, Joyn had no record that payment had been made.  Payment was received on August 27th, 2024 for the original stated minimum earned premium.  Return premium correcting the above was processed on September 5th, 2024.
Joyn and SiriusPoint believe proper notice of cancellation has been issued to the policyholder. If you require additional information, please do not hesitate to contact me.
