On Wednesday, May 15th, 2024, I took my 2022 Hyundai Elantra to Jenkins Hyundai of Ocala to be serviced. I get complimentary maintenance for an oil and filter change also a tire rotation from when I bought my car. While there I also expressed that my front passenger door was making a noise to my service adviser *******************. I was told that they would find the cause of it and fix the issue. Once I picked up my I asked service adviser ******************* again if they had fixed my door he stated it just needed some lube on in and it was fixed. Only later that day when I opened my passenger door again it made the same noise as before. Upon further inspection of the car, I noticed that my door bolt was loose and also I hadnt received a tire rotation as stated on my service paperwork. I know that my tires havent been rotated because the tires that I bought earlier in the year from Discount Tire were still on the back end of my car and the older tires were still at the front end. This is the second time that I have noticed my tire rotation not being done even though it was stated in my service paperwork that it was. I feel as if what I was promised to receive from buying a brand car from Jenkins Hyundai was broken and I was lied to and deceived.

My 2018 Hyundai Sonata was in the shop for paint repairs. When it was time to pick up my vehicle the *** light was on. I went back in to let the dealership know that they did something to my *** system because the light has never came on since I purchased the car in 2017. So they decided to not take care of the issue unless I pay out of pocket for the issue they caused which they had my car for 9 days. I called the Hyundai and the customer care for ********************** of America. No one wants to help me and BBB is my last resort to get this issue resolved.

We traded in our Hyundai palisade 12/22/2023, we had extended warranties so we went and provided Hyundai the forms needed to request our warranty refund. We were given a form showing it would be $698 for road hazard and $567 for the service contract refunded to us. After a month with no refund, we contacted the dealership and found out that they had never actually submitted the forms. A new person said that they would take care of it and submit the forms that we would have a refund within a few weeks. Today we have received one refund from Jenkins directly for $90.47 on sales tax. Every time we try and contact someone we get the runaround and it seems like theyre just trying to keep our money as its been five months.

After a job was supposed to be finish, my vehicle started having other issues related to the labor performed by this dealership. The under cover pannels were attached with tie wraps and started flopping under the vehicle, creating bad noises and the blind spot detectors are not working.I complained to the delership but nobody called me back to solve those issues. The dealership also charged twice the amount of hours for the job performed, and because my warranty GWC based he hours on the all data labor guide, I ended paying more than $800 from my own pocket.

      Business response

      04/30/2024

Per the extended warranty a portion of the work and parts were covered and a portion was not. Dealership has since done work on the vehicle which was covered by warranty. All work that has been asked of Jenkins Hyundai of Ocala was preformed and charged to the extended warranty appropriately.

I am rejecting this response because: The dealership is not taking any responsibility, responding or answering the complaint or giving a proper explanation for the overcharged number of hours, and the poor job performed, on which, I'm still experiencing on my vehicle.

      Sincerely,

Extended warranty declined to cover the difference in labor, as well as, they would not cover the oil control valve or bolts. Jenkins Hyundai of Ocala covered half of the cost of these items and the rest was the responsibility of the customer. We feel we have gone above and beyond to accommodate the customer with the repair they had done with the vehicle here at Jenkins Hyundai of Ocala.

I am rejecting this response because: the dealership is not taking responsibility for the complaint and is not answering the questions in regard to the labor time, the problems caused by the poor job performance, and the existing issues with flopping under cover panels and the blind detention issue caused by the poor labor performed.

Last year in the fall of 2023, Hyundai had done a 20 point inspection along with an oil change. They had a list of additional services they requested be done on the car and at the time I decided I would wait to have a fuel service clean because I would need a little under $300 for that particular service. I had noticed within the past 6 months that the engine was running badly & the engine light kept going off. When I had a diagnostic reading it was stating that a catalytic converter was the problem. This was happening a few months later starting in January of 2024. At this rate I felt as though that it would be necessary to take the car back to the dealer and ask them what they think the car needed. They told me the same thing that the check engine light most likely was going off considering it was past due for an engine clean. I had also mentioned the car runs badly and that when I accelerate the car it makes a loud rattling noise. I was told that since I was using regular fuel often times the noise is due to the fact there is build up in the fuel line so once I have this fuel clean, I wont hear the noise. After they finished & I paid them $240.69, left the dealer and noticed the car sounded the exact same. I also noticed the check engine light wasnt on anymore but about a week later it went back on again. Several weeks went by & hopes that the noise may be due to something else I realized that the service couldnt have been done because the car still sounded terrible. A diagnostic reading was done again after taking the car in after the fuel clean & it was still reading a bad catalytic converter. I took it to a different shop in Ocala called ************** & asked if they could check the catalytic converter and tell me if its going bad. They told me considering the mileage and year it shouldnt be having a problem. Once they did the testing they said the converter should be fine & its going off because of something else which a mechanic needs to look into further. I then completely lost trust in the dealership that they didnt do the service so I took it to a shop suggested to me to check it further. I took it to ***** they told me the car does sound bad & that its from a build up in the fuel. They offered to do the service again. So I had it done again & afterwards the engine noise was gone & the car ran much smoother. The mechanics at ***** had noted the fuel clean wasnt done properly & thats why the noise continued to occur,

Customer came in with a concern. Catalytic converter code was pulled. Technician line advised a fuel system/Throttle body cleaning. Advisor charged only for the maintenance, no diagnostic fee. Customer came back in a week later with a headlamp concern. No mention of a problem remaining with vehicle. Customer then went to *********************** and demanded a refund. ******** stated at that time she took it to a shop and that shop stated we did not correctly preform the service originally. This was the first instance where we were aware of issues since we preformed the fuel system/Throttle body clean. I do not accept this outcome as it was not the first time I had gone with an issue to them that was not properly addressed with the same ineffective outcome. I do not have the time nor can I afford to continually take time from my workday to bring my car in so I ventured out to get help from another mechanic. The new mechanic themselves had even mentioned that they had heard the sound the car was making and it was fuel related requiring a fuel line flush. They stated they would do the job and if the sound persisted they would not charge me, but once they completed the fuel flushing that I had previously paid for via Hyundai the sound was gone and has not returned. So either they are charging for services they are not actually performing or they are inadequately performing tasks. Either way I do not feel that they should be able to take money for a job they in fact did not complete and I had to go to someone else and also pay them to do. I will be getting a detailed report from B&M to show the work they did and when the sound in the vehicle stopped.

I bought a car from Jenkins Hyundai in Ocala, ** in 2021 and with that purchase I got complimentary oil changes and filter, also tire rotations. I have gone to Jenkins Hyundai on the dates of 04/06/23, 07/27/23 and 12/18/23 and paperwork it states that I received a the complimentary tired rotation but my tires are in the position as the were when my car was brought in. So the fact that part of buying a new came with complimentary services covered under the warranty and then not being done but put on my paperwork is dishonest. I feels if the warranty is unless if all the service it offers is not be done is pointless and causing my tires to wear down quicker.

      Business response

      12/19/2023

The dealership has no problem taking care of the tire changes on the next few visits. If that what was listed in the warranty that was included at the time of purchase, then we will do those services to the vehicle that was purchased as promised.

Hyundai issued an extended warranty for the engines of my vehicle’s year, make and model (2017 Hyundai Tucson) because of problems with these engines. When I took my vehicle to the dealer, they said it doesn’t qualify for the warranty and refused to cover fixing the engine.

      Good afternoon *****

Unfortunately the dealership does not make the decision on a warranty issue with your engine. We send all the appropriate information to the manufacturer and they make a decision whether or not they will cover the engine. We are sorry for any inconvenience this causes but we have nothing to do with the decision being made on your engine warranty.

I ordered and financed a new 2023 Hyundai Santa Curz in August 2022 from Jenkins Hyundai. This was a factory order. After a couple of months, I received a call from the dealer telling me my new car had arrived. When I got to the dealer to take delivery, it was a different vin number than the car I was supposed to receive. The type, style, and color were exactly the same as the one I ordered originally. The dealer asked me to resign my financing paperwork. Now 6 months later, the financing company still has the old vin number listed and I am making car payments on the wrong car. I have asked the dealer to correct it with the financing company several times with no luck. The financing company tells me, they can do nothing without the correction coming from the dealer. Please help.

      Good afternoon,

The information that we have for the Title, Registration, and the sales contract done at the time of the sale is correct. The bank that this was financed through has this under the wrong VIN for your vehicle. We are working with them currently to fix the problem and will update you once this is fixed. ***** **** Book puts a number based off of the condition, mileage, and upkeep etc.... of the vehicle. We understand the trade value Kelly Blue Book may have given you from the info you provided online. After full inspection of the vehicle at our dealership the trade value that was given to you at time of appraisal is what we're willing to give. We cannot put an actual value on the vehicle until it is here at the dealership. The appraiser needs to do an inspection of the vehicle and take it for a test ride to see how it preforms to put an accurate value to it.
