      On Jan 20 2015 I purchased swimming pool solar panels that required service for two leaks on Mar 19 2024.The contract offers repair for 12 years with explicit language that no charges would be required for service.A charge of $240 was required for repair (invoice included).Contact with the installer, ******* *************** (formerly Solar **************** *****************************************,************, ***********, www.HawkinsServiceCo.com and the manufacturer, LeverEdge, **************************************, ************,************, ***************************************** www.theleveredge.com.com resulted in no response from the installer (email attached) and the manufacturer reply that they have no provision to refund charges (email attached ).The original contract warranty reads, (Solar Solution's) "...will repair or replace any solar pool heating panel free of labor charge for a period of twelve years..." and (Manufacturer's) "...will repair or replace the defective collector for a period of twelve years from the initial installation at NO CHARGE to the CONSUMER..."       Dear ****************,

      I am writing in response to your complaint to the Better Business Bureau on May 20, 2024. The LeverEdge distributes ISwim solar pool collectors, manufactured by our wholly owned subsidiary, Solar ********************** to independent licensed solar contractors. Our solar collectors come with a factory warranty that covers defects in materials and workmanship.Additionally, ordinary labor costs are covered when the work is performed by the original, contracted, authorized ISwim dealer. I have included a copy of the warranty for your reference.

      Upon reviewing the invoice you submitted from ******* **************** formerly Solar **************** I noticed that the $240.00 fee you were charged was for the service call. This fee typically includes trip charges and diagnostic fees associated with assessing the repair rather than labor costs. I did not find any labor charges in the invoice.

      Furthermore, it appears there has been no direct communication with ******* *************** regarding this matter. As a next step, I will forward them a copy of this response on your behalf. I would also encourage you to contact them directly for further clarification or to discuss the details of the service provided.

      I am rejecting this response because:

       

      The initial complaint did contain the email sent to ******* showing contact was attempted, and no response was received except the reply that they would get back to me. They never did. (That is an attachment)

      Further, the original contract states the manufacturer would ...at no charge to the consumer (all caps for no charge and  consumer). (that was an attachment) Your reply that had added verbage about any type of charges is not in this original contract, was not in the 2015 contract that was agreed to by the manufacturer's warranty. So, please reimburse the charge that was bound by the original contract.

      My Maytag water softener is less than 2 years old and not working any more. Local dealer checked it out and I was told that filtration media was damaged by chlorine in city water supply with out performing a water test on site and just told me that filtration media is not cover by guarantee. But when they sell these water softener don't mention anything about water itself damage the equipment. Also there is so many information not disclose to consumer about sytem been damage by water it self to soon. In my view some thing was wrong with the system since was installed because its life was extremely short. Also that means that the thousands of water softener sold in the area are not suitable to be sold in these area if they gonna last less than two years.

      I received the complaint you submitted through the Better Business Bureau. The LeverEdge manufactures the Maytag water treatment system under license and distributes wholesale to professional water conditioning dealers who provide expert in-home application, installation, and servicing. 
      I asked our customer care team to reach out to Hydro Solutions, the water conditioning company from whom you purchased your Maytag water conditioner in September of 2021, to better understand the situation. Hydro Solutions confirmed that you requested service on your system due to a noticeable reduction in water pressure. Hydro Solutions came to your home, assessed the situation professionally, and provided you with an estimate of $399 to repair the system.  


      Based on the reduction in water pressure and evidence of oxidized resin coming out of the drain line of the system, the technician advised you that the filtration media was oxidized or broken down, most likely by high chlorine levels in the city water. The high chlorine level results from the local water purveyors efforts to deliver safe potable water. Chlorine levels can vary dramatically in different regions and even different areas of a subdivision. Chlorine levels can be high depending on your home's location relative to the water distribution system. Chlorine can shorten the useful life of these filtration medias. Water usage also factors into the equation. Your family of six will most likely use more water than a family of two, shortening the life of the media.


      The good news is that the damaged media can be replaced utilizing the **************** Warranty, excluding a shipping and handling fee and Hydro ***************** charge for the work. Its my understanding that they quoted you $399 for everything. From my perspective, Hydro Solutions has been very fair with their pricing. I hope this information has been helpful.       Purchased a whole house water filtration system from authorized distributor in Jacksonville FL. Had the unit installed by a Westinghouse authorized technician. Have had the unit inspected by an authorized Westinghouse technician. Included an under the sink filtration as well and am trying to replace the filters. NO ONE WILL SELL THEM TO ME and NO ONE WILL COME TO DO IT because the "current distributor" was the not the one who sold me the unit in the first place !! Now I am stuck with a system that does not work and cannot be serviced.

He indicated that he was satisfied with the outcome.
