I was referred to Ms. Stanford by a family member whom she did a great service for her tax amendment. Ms.Stanford called me in April 2021 and asked for relevant information about my 2020 return. After speaking with her and being very confident in her expertise she asked that I****** her $375 for the amendment and provide all of my deductions and 2020 tax information. I sent her the money on May 14, 2021. I did not hear back from her so I texted and emailed her at least 4 times from August until October 2021. My family member also called and texted Ms. Sanford as well as her family member who works with her. At first I was still asking for the amendment to be done as that was my goal. Once she did respond in June 2021, and told me that my case was in a "queue" and that when it was my turn I would have my amendment done. No word on when that was supposed to occur. After that I texted and emailed numerous times again with no response whatsoever to any of our outreaches. In October 2021 I sent a certified letter to Ms. Stanford's business address on file and because it was never acknowledged by her it was returned to me. I had given up hope of ever seeing my money back I then thought to review her BBB reviews and saw that there were other complaints filed very similar to mine, and some by repeat customers. I am imploring Ms. Stanford to help restore her good reputation by sending me back my $375 for the service I never received. I wish her good luck and good health but I need my money, which is why I trusted her in the first place to do my amendment, and I have suffered financial loss with her neither doing my amendment or returning my money to me. I have reached out to Lavetta in regards to my 2020 tax refund. I already paid for the service and she has yet fulfilled her duty. My taxes aren't completed and it is becoming a burden especially during this time. I am not sure what documentation you need. I just want this resolved. Please help me! Thank you!Initial Complaint

We have trusted Ms. Lavetta ******** with our taxes for over 6 years and last February, we have paid her $175 to do our taxes for 2020. She sent us an email in April that she will call us soon to file the taxes, but we never heard back from her again. We sent her multiple emails, made multiple phone calls, but she never responded. We now have to look for another company to do our taxes and pay the second time. She shouldn't have taken the money if she couldn't fulfill her duties.Business response

Lavetta ********, has been doing my taxes for the last 2 years. I paid her $350 in April 2021, to file mine and my daughter's taxes for 2020. Lavetta ******** still hasn't done my taxes or issued me a refund. Doesn't answer any of calls, emails or text messages. She basically disappeared with my money. Now I have to find spend money again to file my taxes with another company. This is unprofessional, I just want a refund. Found out I'm not the only one she stole money from!
