I was under military orders when I moved out. The final bill for utilities reflect a move out fee which is contrary to SCRA and Florida law. Also they have deceptive communication through the ordeal. They called the move out fee a water shut off fee, then it was a final fee. They have the audacity to call it a settled matter when they in their communications with me they keep changing what it’s called. On my end my receipt say move out fee. Furthermore, they would threaten with damage to credit and to send it to collections. This shows that we’re not working in good faith. Eventually they sent it to **********.

The past tenant was under the assumption that they were not required to pay a water disconnect fee, due to the language used on the final bill from Conservice labeled as "move-out fee", which is incorrect. We have been in touch with the past tenant and explained this multiple times before being sent to collections. The past tenant did not provide us with military orders or complete a notice of intent to move out. Village at Baldwin Park, did however, waive the early termination fee which is the only fee that we are legally responsible for waiving, when military orders do arise.

We have made contact with the past tenant in an effort to remedy the issue. We have gone ahead and closed the collection, as a courtesy to the past tenant and accepted the payment in-house. This issue has been resolved. Please advise if there are any additional questions or concerns.
