I used ************* to book flights and a rental car. I decided to use carwiz aka flex rent a car. The quote I was given and charged initially was ******, which was paid with a credit card on 12/5/2024. The day after the vehicle was picked up, my credit card was charged an additional ******. When asked about this charge, I was told it was a deposit and it would be refunded 3-5 business days after the car was returned. It still hasn't been refunded. I have contacted the company multiple times and have spoken with several people. I have been told only the manager can help me with the issue. I have spoken to the manager twice after returning home and have been told, again, that the money would be reimbursed within 3-5 business days. I would like this money returned to my credit card ASAP! I have record of my itinerary including the price of the rental. Phone records showing how many times I have called. Bank records showing the dates and amounts this company has pulled from my account, as well as the money not refunded to the account.Initial Complaint

I handed worker possibly named ******* to seemy confirmation on my phone and he asks me confirm how much I paid. Not once did he say that the reservation was not found or that he would be making a new one or again that it was Flex Rent a Car and not FlexWays. He asks about my insurance and I said I have my own through Geico. He gives me the key and directs me and my husband to head outside to the car to inspect and h*** bring my receipt. Im videotaping the walk through and he comes up saying the car is a ******************************************************************** the lot but once we get off the lot he doesnt care what we do. Im sitting in the drivers seat checking the fuel as he hands me the receipt and I see $138.73. I paid for the car in advance so why am I paying extra and he replies because I said I wanted the lowest insurance and I said no I said have my own insurance. Again ******* gets irritated and we go back inside and he argues that I have to pay $15 a day regardless even to decline their insurance - which for 3 days would be $45 not $138.73. I proceed to ask him where online it says that because in clear yellow on my email, it shows there is NO additional fee you will need to pay to pick up your car. He says Ill bring it down to $10. I make it clear to ******* Im not asking to pay less, Im saying I shouldnt have to pay it at all. He says will just take it off. Thank God I get immediate notifications on my card purchases because I only receive a credit for $105.41. That is not the full $138.73 Im owed and he says well we still need to rent the car. I ask why would I pay again for a car I already paid for as I show him the email from ******* for the 3rd time indicating paid in full and he says because hes matching the price from ******* and thats when it finally clicked that I was being scammed entirely with the wrong company. Another group from a different car rental company and ******* tried to do the same scam .Initial Complaint

On 10/18/24, I rented a car from this location and paid ****** on a MasterCard. The car was returned on 10/22/24 at 12:45. I was told my receipt would be emailed to me, and the employee drove my family to the airport. We were checked in at 2 p.m. for our flight. I had to call for a receipt and was overcharged by ******. Additionally, my ********** was charged twice ******. I have reached out to the company 4 times for an explanation and they have stopped responding.Initial Complaint

the clerk asked it i wanted to add *** to my rental that was already booked and paid for threw ************* i DECLINED, (witnesses there heard), he said okay, then he offered to staple up the whole paper of the "new contract", blocking what he added by folding the paper into 6, without my consent, and had me sign it. When i opened it up in my car and saw what he did, i went back inside to confront him but he brushed me off saying its just a "temporary hold" ALL of which will be refunded after i return the car. I was clear right when i walked in that the reservation was paid in full and that i want ZERO add-ons. He also added on RSP fee and a bunch of other bogus add-ons without my consent. This is while telling me "your credit card is just for a temporary HOLD which will fall off, NOT a charge. The charge went threw it NOT a hold and now they refuse to refund me, telling me i PAID for "SERVICES". This was without my knowledge and against my will. the store should check their surveillance cameras from OCT 21st and 9:30PM to corroborate my story.Customer response

I rented a car through this company on Priceline. I picked up car late at night, around 955 pm. A gentleman who did not speak fluent English gave us our rental. He did not do any type of inspection sheet- even when I asked he didnt understand what I was saying. I knew to ask about this because I am a frequent traveler and have always filled out this sheet with other companies. All this man did was take photos - in the dark - of the vehicle. I returned the on July 23rd before the company opened. I received a $300 charge to my credit card on August 5. that I am assuming is for damages based off other peoples reviews of this company. I have called over ************************************************** there is no manager on duty.Customer response

The day after I rented the car a man called me right around 5pm and told me some paperwork wasnt signed and he was going to send it over via docusign to me email. He told me I had to sign it right then and that he would stay on the phone with me until I completed it. I was at ****** world at the time so I completed it. He told me it was a contract. He sent three different emails back to back.Initial Complaint

Rented a car from them and a few days later the window was busted and it took them 3 days to give me a replacement car. They tried to charge me a swap fee for a replacement car but they were quoting me a week out for the glass replacement. Charge me a $250 extra fee for the membership which I did not even want. Sent threatening text about returning the car and paying the payment that I owe threatening to call the police on me and I had returned the car a week ago. It very shady company that is only after money. Insurance is supposed to be included with the vehicle but they make you pay an extra fee along with paying for miles. I am seeking compensation of the amount that I paid for the month plus the $250 yearly fee. I am no longer using their service again. My car was returned on the 16th of July and they have been sending me threatening text ever since.Initial Complaint

On March 28th, I rented a vehicle from Carwiz car Rental at their *************** facility. Two separate charges were made to my credit card: $403.04 and $243.48. Included in those charges was a $150-deposit that was promised to be returned in 2 weeks. it's been one month, and 3 weeks and no money has been returned to my account.I have called them at *************** times by now, and all I hear is "your refund has an Authorization Code: ****** and it was made on April 2nd". I have called Amex, three times now, and there is no such deposit in my account. On my Amex, the reference to these charges appears as: Flex Rent A Car Date posted: March 29th, 2024 Transaction Reference Number: ******************Initial Complaint

If I am allowed to give the negative rating, I will give a negative rating. Please be patient to read what happened to us. It is a true story. We were using Priceline to book a minivan from Carwiz Rent Car (also called FLEX RENT A CAR). The only reason we chose Carwiz Rent Car (also called FLEX RENT A CAR) is because of their cheaper price, but in the end we were fooled by them and we paid more than triple price than the price listed in Priceline. The minivan is in horrible condition. I have rented cars from other rental car companies and I never expected the rental car could be like this way. Many scratches and dents on the car and the right rear tire pressure were lower than safety level. I talked with the people from this rental car company and he just simply asked another person to pump some air into the tire. 30 minutes after we drove on highway, the tire pressure warning was on and we had to stop at gas station to pump the air into the tire again. On our trip, we pump air at least 10 times and the tire pressure was low every 30 minutes driving. It was a terrible experience. What makes the things even worse is that the first time when I pump gas into the car, the oil pump cover just fall out. Guess what, they charged me $300 for this damage. I provided my car insurance to the rental car company when I picked up the car. And they still charged on my credit card for this damage. I will never use priceline again or Carwiz. So, if you are thinking to rent a car from this company, read this review and please avoid at all cost. Rent a car from **************** or Hertz, save your headache. Like other reviewers said this company is a totally scam, and I dont understand how they are still in business.
