The Roofing Company lied about what they were providing. Told us that a peel and stick membrane was standard within the estimate they provided and wrote on top of my contract. Contract gives 3 days to cancel. They waited over a month to provide an adjusted estimate. This estimate was more than double the estimate on contract. - original estimate—-$23,575 -adjusted estimate—-$53,000 + I can not find anyone at the address listed on their contract. Looks like an abandoned place. Fl Roofing License ********** Fl Residential License ********** Please see my letter requesting my deposit back it explains how they committed unethical practices. My issue has never been resolved and I think that the Orlando branch for this company is closed.  Channel 9 did a story on their scamming!    I filed a small claims case against the owners and went to court yesterday for this and they did not show putting them in default.  It will now go to a judge so they can rule on the case in our favor.  But that does not get our $8,000 back.

I did sign a contract with Nationwide Exterior to install a new roof on March 23, 2023. In that contract agreement, I did provide details of GAF materials that I would like to be used On May 15, 2023, Nationwide Exterior sent the crews to tear out my roof but the materials did not arrive. So they had to stop and put some cover to avoid the water leak. The raining was coming on May 16-18, 2023. The water start to be leaked in the ceiling because roofing was not appropriately shielded. I did take a couple pictures and sent to them. On May 22 and 23, 2023, another new crews arrived to installed 2/3 of roofing. Because materials were run out, they had to stop again. No further progress since then until today (June 1, 2023). For the worst, the current 2/3 of roofing was installed with different materials that are agreed on the contract and their roof inspector even lied about his inspection statement (see attached). The roof was teared on May 15, 2023. There is no way that he can inspect the roof sheathing and nailing on May 11, 2023. Summary: I would like 1) Nationwide Exterior to finish roof job according to contract agreement 2) Nationwide Exterior to hire independent inspector to inspect the work. I don't trust Mr. Jon Dorosh 3) To resolve the water leak, Nationwide Exterior should hire independent company to detect the potential mod and to fix water leak

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

      1) There is no specific date that my new roofing will be installed with materials specified in the contract. There is a lot of empty promises from Nationwide Exterior but no action. My roofing was teared off more than 3 weeks ago. Only 2/3 of roof were installed with wrong materials.

      2) The response does not include the offer to check out the mold caused by Nationwide Exterior and to repair the ceiling and other due to water leak as specified in the complaint.

      Sincerely,

      **** ***** ****

My father signed a contract with Nationwide Roofing to install a new roof after the hurricane. We are STILL waiting for a new roof 7 months later. The tarps are constantly tearing and letting water in the house because it takes days for them to get out there to replace them. My father has been in the hospital for weeks in the ICU due to mold exposure in the house. We cannot get the interior repaired until the roof is on and water is unable to get in. We have been dealing with ******* ****) who is the supervisor. He says he has no control over the roofing dates and to call his GM, Dustin H***** I left multiple voicemails for him and he never called back. After lots of calls and texts with *******, he claims that he went to the owner of the company to get something accomplished. Dustin H**** suddenly began returning calls. His answers to my questions are always vague and he says he will follow up. After insisting that we just wanted a solid date for the install, he said the roof was supposed to be torn off this Monday and completed by next week. When I asked why the roof had not been started this week he said he was “going to put it to me straight”. We were number TWENTY THREE on the install list. We have been told numerous times that the roof is going on the next week. Never happens. When I was visiting my father last week in Florida, I met with ******* so that they could replace yet another tarp. He claimed that one of his customers needed to push their date back and my dad was now in that spot. It would definitely be this week. I told that to Dustin H**** and he said that was not true and he had just talked to ******* and he never mentioned that. This company has $30,000 that was paid to them from my father’s insurance company. We want a full refund so that we can hire a company that we trust. We are done with the dishonesty and just want to move on. I have called the corporate office three times and left messages. No one calls me back.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

The roof has been installed. However, they have not returned to install the correct color vents. Only some vents were replaced. Others were painted. They installed white vents on a brown roof and painted them brown. This will not hold up in the hot Florida sun. Also, I was given the run-around about only one person in the entire company can schedule installs for getting the solar panels back on. Supposedly this one person is sick and they are the only one who can schedule anything. There is no way this is true…We are almost a year into this and the job is still not completely done. While my father was in the hospital, he caught someone on his RING doorbell stealing the solar panels that have been sitting in his yard since they began the install. He was able to yell at them and they dropped them.
      Sincerely,

      ***** ****

Beginning in March 2022, I have been working with Nationwide roofing to get my roof replaced; after getting all of the requirements, we signed the agreement and selected color on September 11, made a payment on October 1 with a $9,000 deposit, and an expected installation date estimated for November 2022. Note: Hurricane IAN was September 28. After 3 additional dates have passed, no roofing work has been done, and we are coming up to a year since this started. Also, I have to request updates to get the same answers; they are working on it.

In July 2021, I signed a contract with Nationwide Exteriors to replace the siding and roof on my home. An insurance adjuster came to my home to inspect the reported damaged and determined that there was $33000 of damage. A check was sent to me and Nationwide pick up the check to assist with mortgage company signature. My husband and I signed the check and gave to Nationwide representative. I have solar panels on my home and due to Covid the solar panel contractor could not schedule solar panel removal until March of 2022. I decided to get a few quotes in the month of December and discovered that I could get more home improvements with the insurance claim check. I called the Nationwide representative that I had been working with, explained the situation and he told me he would start the process of contract cancellation. As of this date, I have not heard from the representative. I can the company weekly. They repeated tell me that they will call me back, but never do. I want my money back so I can proceed with my home improvements. I understand that there is a 20% cancellation fee, but I would like that fee waived since I am being taken advantage of.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/02/21) */ We received the customer request for refund. Due to the size of the refund there was a process to getting the full amount reissued through our accounting department. As of 2/18/2022, customer has been issued a full refund. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/03/03) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) In the response, the company states that I was issued a full refund. I was not issued a full refund. I was issued with a 20% penalty which is mentioned in the contract. After further review, the contract states that the work would begin in 4-8 weeks. Nationwide picked up my check on Aug 9 and I had no further contact with them until when I attempted to contact on Sept 1, 2021 and then on Sept 20, 2021 when I asked for them to return my check. Although, I was waiting for solar panel removal, the siding replacement could have be completed if started by contact guideline. Then the roof could have been replaced. This is why I am requesting FULL refund to include the 20% penalty. Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2022/03/11) */ Ms. *******, Thank you for the follow up. The contract that you signed (see attached) says approximately 4-8 weeks for completion. Additionally page two of our contract, paragraph six states, (see attached) "6. The Company shall not be liable for failure of performance because of delay to meet completion date, due to labor controversies, strikes, fires, weather, and/or inability to obtain materials from usual sources." Due to the global pandemic, our suppliers had a minimum eight week delay on material deliveries. Also, (see attached) to those delays, we reached out in early September and found out you were having issues with scheduling your solar removal. After two months of delays, our regional manager attempted to meet and assist you with the process so we could begin repairs. You rescheduled twice before initiating the cancellation. Included as well is our conversation showing you understood the agreed upon 20% penalty of $6,612.48, (see attached) rendering your refund "paid in full". Consumer Response /* (4200, 11, 2022/03/14) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Thank you for your response. I have attached the communication that I had with 2 representatives. These documents show that there was a delay in communication. Business Response /* (4000, 14, 2022/03/22) */ Ms. *******, We understand and apologize there were delays on all sides. Between the material delay and COVID affecting our staffing, we did our best to help you along the way, to include honoring the contractual refund. We do not have record of you calling our offices directly as well, should the pandemic-delays in communication have been so pertinent, until January when you requested the refund. Per the contract you signed, we have completed all terms, which you accepted. There will be no further refund.
