DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH QUINTON! Formerly sky speed innovation now Operating as superior smart homes for because of him scamming so many people in Florida he now is doing in Texas. Currently living in woodlands area He is a scam artist! I met him through thumbtack and hired to do some work for my gym. Had some issues but he finally got the job done. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and hired him to do work at my house and this is where the major issues started. He asked me to ***** Him money which I did to order Control 4 products. He showed up with a third of the material and claimed the rest was on the way. He showed up at my house with Mario one time and got some things accomplished. he asked me to Zelle him more money or material which I did. Since then Quintin has lied 30 plus times about showing up at my house. He promised me up down “I’m coming today” and has never showed up. He’s sent pics of cars he’s buying that are well over 100k saying he was at dealership and was gonna make it right after. I’ve asked Quentin numerous times to either bring my equipment or refund my money. He has not done either. I then found out that he was asking people to ***** and cash app him money because he was ordering from control 4 and not paying his bill all while pocketing the money. So now he’s no longer and distributor for them and can’t even get the material to finish the job without paying again. Even before writing this I asked him to please refund money and I would leave this alone. He never responded. After researching his companies I noticed the trend he has done this all across Florida and Texas with numerous negative review. I hope this review helps someone not get scammed by him like so many others have.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

I’ve already filed a police report against Quinton for theft reported all evidence to control 4 as well as police.

I will not stop pursuing this until I get a refund in full.

Quinton you scammed the wrong person. according to your bbb/ yelp reviews you’ve been doing this to people for years.

      Best of luck to you.

      Sincerely,

      ******* ******

We had this company do some work at our house. We foolishly paid for a receiver that Quinton (the owner) said he would buy and install. We are pretty sure he never bought the receiver and pocketed the money. After 2 months of outlandish excuses and not returning phone calls, he stole $2553.95 from us. We gave him every opportunity to pay us back and was more than patient with him. We found him on Home Advisor with good reviews. That's why we hired him. But turns out Skyspeed has the worst customer service and will take your money and run. That considered, a Class A Misdemeanor in Texas, punishable by up to one year in jail and a $4000 fine. Theft between $2,500 and $30,000 is a state jail felony. We hope this review helps others to avoid this company and find another company that is reputable and local to you. By far the worst experience by anyone in AV we've ever dealt with. Don't let the positive reviews on the web fool you like it did us. We hope this finds Skyspeed Inovation

      10/21/2022

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/08/30) */ I had previously done work for *** and*******. They bought a home that another company had worked and on and did not finish not exactly sure what happen between the 2 party's. What******* explained was not the case at all they where missing a bout 15k worth of equipment and other companies had already made them aware of what it would cost to complete the job. The job was broken down in phases. I explained that the last phase of the job they had an additional 4 to 8 zones of audio. The amp that was ordered I explained to her what the cost would be and that amps are on back order at the time they paid half and the other half close to time for the amps to come off back order. I had another customers amp in my position I explained I could give them months later if the customer was willing to wait. He wasn't willing to wait. I then was rushed to get a amp to them and they could not work around my schedule. Then I was threatened by them they would seek legal do to the fact they borrowed the money from a family member. I think the issue is they could not afford to complete the project and had financial issues and seeked money. I explained up front that all sells where final I was willing to make an experience but******* use some remarks and comments via text and at the time I decided to stick to what was agreed upon. They have now went to social media taunting me with friends my children and work partners I have at this time I the original contract stands as final they can wait until the equipment is available of of back order. I will not tolerate the social media fake pages and bars ment they are issuing. The only are telling part of the story not the ful story Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/08/31) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) To be clear, the issue is NOT that we cannot afford to complete the project, the issue is that we have $2553.95 tied up in the purchase of an item that we have not received. We can pay someone else to complete the project tomorrow, but that does not negate the fact that you have $2553.95 that was not honestly earned. The work that was to be done was part of an ongoing project as the project was not ever completed to have ever been considered "previous work". The status of the equipment that was on hand has no bearing on the argument in question which is that you were paid for a product that was not produced and that you admitted you had used the money to procure, but never produced a viable product to our residence. The communication that you sent that prompted the payment of the remainder of the money was that the item was no longer on backorder, that is why payment was given, not because of a lack of patience. Any follow up that came after the initial down payment had been made was simply in inquiry to the investment that had already been entrusted to you. It was initially stated that tracking information would be provided for the amplifier, and when it was not, despite numerous requests for such, that is when the doubt grew. You then had an appointment to come install the equipment on three occasions, none of which offered any follow through on delivery. At that time, you stated that you had obtained an amplifier through an alternate means and that it did not work and that you were essentially out the money. That decision was yours to make, not ours, therefore, we are still entitled to the $2553.95 that was paid in good faith for an item that was not provided. At this point, it has become theft as money was paid for an item and that item was not delivered. It would be like someone walking in to a store, paying for an amplifier and, after payment, the store refusing to give the customer the item. While you may have stated that all sales are final, you also stated that you had used the money to purchase an item that we have yet to receive. When you stated that you could not produce a viable item, you agreed to a refund. There is nothing anywhere stated that all sales are final, only an invoice for an item which, again, was paid for and not delivered. It seems that you are unclear that this is not a demand for refund on money paid for a service that was provided, this is a demand for recuperation of money used to purchase an item from a vendor that was not delivered. ******* has never been disrespectful to you in communication, and we have the documentation to prove that. She was simply stating that she did not need yet ANOTHER excuse as to why you could not follow through with the refund that you agreed to provide in the timeline you stated it would be provided and did not make an attempt to follow up on your progress towards rectifying the situation. The posts on social media are in no way a form of harassment, rather education and warning for others. Upon deeper research into your previous business dealings through a simple google search, that I guess we should have been more privy to check, we are by far not the only family that has fallen victim to payment for items never received. Posting our experience on social media and reviews was in no way a threat, it is doing exactly what those platforms are intended for, to educate others and prevent further harm from being done at the benefit of a crook. These posts reference only you and your business and have no mention nor implication or indication on or of your friends and family. Furthermore, no communication has in any way been threatening, simply forward motion in search of a resolution. Based on the level of professionalism offered thus far in our interactions with you, the hope to see either the money or item by any means other than going to court does not seem likely. My wife offered you several chances to make good on your word, and your word got us nowhere but here. Business Response /* (4000, 12, 2022/09/23) */ The answer is the equipment is still on back order and I don't understand why *** filed the transaction was done with *** at any time and nothing was discussed with *** only*******

I was asked by Quinten H*** (operating under Superior Smart Homes) to pay $1,260 back on December 17, 2021 for the purchase and installation of cameras around my home. I was told it would take a couple weeks for the equipment to arrive and be installed. I received another phone call from Quinten asking for an additional $870 for better quality cameras which I paid electronically and have receipts for. We're in July and I am left with an incomplete job and 3 of the cameras aren't even operating and two others have such poor quality, you can't see anything clearly. I'm asking for swift resolution to this matter before it's escalated to civil claims court.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/07/13) */ Contact Name and Title: Quentin h*** Contact Phone: 4074216194 Contact Email: ****************** I was contacted by carry via snap chat if I could install cameras at her property explain that cameras and supplies are on back order it could be weeks if or months befor the materials maybe available. She agreed that wait would be not a issue I advised her I would not know what the labor bill would be due to the fact that some of the cameras needed a wireless mesh net work. She was aware of that. Cameras where working there was no issue until I asked for payment for my time. Once I asked for payment she advised equipment was not working 2 weeks later Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/07/14) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Quinten would tell me items were in route to my home address and he went as far as to send me a tracking number that wasn't even for my equipment. I looked up the tracking information and I told him the equipment is scheduled to arrive at the ***** location in Spring, TX about 30 minutes from my home and that I can have it directed to my address and he immediately said, "NO!" He said he would bring the cameras to my home and install them which never happened. I have every single piece of communication via snapchat and text between myself and Quinten. I also have communication between myself and his admin, Ana, where she would call to "schedule Quinten to arrive at my home" but he would be a no call, no show. I have the call logs showing how many times she called me to "schedule Quinten to perform work" but he wouldn't show up. My husband also has text between he and Quinten. To date, I have not seen a single invoice, I have not received receipts for the camera cost from the manufacturer. Quinten kept saying you're getting a good deal because I get them "at cost" but never showed any proof and then tell me stories about how he's using left over equipment (cameras) for my install but reassured me they were new. The work performed is subpar at best. There are live wires running along the outside of my fence which is a safety hazard. My gate cameras don't work at all. Camera 3 is inoperable because it's missing, according to Quinten, "a $3 dollar piece that was going to be over-nighted to me" which to date hasn't been received. Quinten told me it would be enroute to my home and even allowed me to take a video of him on how to install it once received. Still no piece in sight. I did a simple google search for the cameras I paid well over $2k for and they're listed on ****** for $69 each. Quinten asked me to pay the flights for two technicians he had fly out to Houston from Florida to work for him after the work was done according to him, but the cameras weren't all operating. Then Quinten said, "don't worry about the money, we can be friends, but I can't move like that." I said, what do you mean? Who is going to finish the work? He said you just have to adjust the cameras and they should work, and he gave me this number to call for assistance: (469) 289-5780. When I called, they said they cannot speak with end-users and need to speak with my technician. I told Quinten this and he said I need to find someone else; he's done. At no point in time did Quinten tell me he was going to charge me (the customer) for two techs to fly out of state to help him with other jobs. I would have never agreed to such ridiculous demand and the only reason I asked Quinten about installing cameras in my home to begin with was because I saw he was in Houston on ******** saying he's doing business here now. Because of my lapse in judgement with contracting a "friend" to do work, I must call a professional to come correct all the poor installation and reinstall functioning cameras. I have pictures of the cameras that aren't working. They were not all working when Quinten left my home and I have the text threads containing that information. My last interaction with Quinten was when he and Ana called my cellphone and Quinten was yelling and using profanity towards me. On multiple occasions during that conversation, I had to inform him that I would not tolerate the disrespect or threats and only expected to receive what I paid for based on Quinten's only quote to me, nothing more, nothing less. My last attempt to inquire about the missing piece for camera number 3 was when I called Ana and asked about the missing piece, she said she didn't know anything about it and would need to call, "Quint" to follow up. I asked for the business address, and she said she didn't know it. About 30 minutes later, I was called by Deputy Taylor from Precinct 3 Constable Office contacting me with an alleged, "harassment claim from Quinten H***." After I explained the situation to the Deputy, she provided me with guidance on how to take appropriate action. I am seeking a full refund at this time. Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2022/07/15) */ Again customer is upset do to the fact I ask for my payment not one time was there a issue with the cameras until I asked to be paid I don't think we need to go back and for all these alligations are false customer didn't want to pay that's the whole is at this time. Consumer Response /* (4200, 11, 2022/07/18) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I am not upset about Quinten asking me for additional payment. What doesn't make sense is for me to pay Quinten money and not have a system that works. I would be a fool to give him anymore money unless the work was completed correctly the first time after paying him in full. Which it's not, hence the filing of this complaint. Nothing about what I previously stated is false and would be happy to provide all of the supplemental documentation to support my claims. On Monday, June 13th, I texted Quinten informing him I had not received the part he said he shipped to my home for camera 3 the previous week. I also explained to him that three other cameras along with the two gate cameras were inoperable. He told me to get on a ladder and adjust the iris. I am not the technician, nor do I have the knowledge or tools to perform work I paid him to do. I received a response from Quinten on Wednesday, June 15th at 5:07pmCT, saying I totally understand but you didn't pay my employees for any of their time. I responded back with I paid everything you asked me to pay and you said you were coming back to finish the work. I'm a person of my word and if you ask me for more money, I'm good for it. But now my cameras out front (referring to gate cameras) aren't working, I have no wifi, my 3 cameras are still spotty (unable to see anything) and camera #3 is still missing a piece. Quinten responded back with, "that's fine I dont want anything at this point. It's a big game, if it was left up to my daughters mom this would have turned bad. I dont want any issues of that sort not my style." I am seeking a full refund to complete the unfinished work and replace all non functioning cameras. I would hate for anyone else to experience everything I have had to dealing with this mess. If I could, I would have never hired Quinten H*** (owner of)************************** (OPERATING UNDER SKYSPEED INNOVATIONS, LLC) IN ORLANDO, FL and KATY, TX
