We contracted this company to book our rooms for a conference back in March of 2024. We paid a deposit of $2689.20 on 03/26/24 via credit card. Then they requested the final amount of $8515.80, which we paid on 04/15/24 via wire. We were in constant communication with them. They replied that they could not book the rooms and our staff was forced to pay for their own rooms upon check in. They reimbursed the credit card charge of $2689.20 on 07/15/24. THEY REFUSE TO PAY BACK THE $8,515.80! They sent PROOF of payment. We have emailed, called and they have continually lied. It has been months and they no longer respond. This must be a scam company using TAX ID *********. I spoke with ***** in accounting and she said "******" would get back to me on 09/11/24. Their address on the invoice of ******************************************************* appears to be a house. Not sure if this is a legitimate company. We would like a response and our money back. Thank you.

We are a conference producer. This company misrepresented themselves as working with us, hosting the convention, and emailed our list of attendees (not sure how they obtained this as we do not share lists). They are a third party agency who is misleading people and misrepresenting their offerings - they are NOT our official hotel block.

On 1.11.23 we paid conventioneers to make a reservation for 10 hotel rooms at a hotel for a conference in October of this year. Conventioneers provided a confirmation that the reservation was made on 1-11. We were then made aware a few months later from the conference itself that some businesses were contacting conference attendees and claiming to make hotel reservations but were actually fraudulent. So we contacted the hotel directly to confirm our reservation and they confirmed, on multiple occasions now, that Conventioneers did not make any reservation nor did they ever contact the hotel. Conventioneers has also lied on multiple occasions, blaming the hotel saying that the hotel can't confirm the reservation as it is too far in the future. This is not true and has been confirmed as not true by the hotel manager who has done everything in their power to try to find the reservation but has no record of ever being contacted by Conventioneers. Conventioneers then said they will refund us but would need to work with the hotel to do so despite the hotel not having received any reservation. The hotel also confirmed they have not been contacted regarding a refund. They have provided no confirmation of a refund, nor are they willing to give us anything in writing saying they will refund us our money. They keep claiming an email from the hotel will come to confirm the refund but it has not. They are now not responding to any communication and we are pursuing their charges as fraud.

      Hello,

Please note that we received a booking form at the mentioned date for 10 rooms under TBD names. that's why the client couldn't find the rooms when he contacted the hotel. Please also note that we received this refund request and the paid deposit has been refunded.

      Thanks,

      Hello,

Kindly note that the booking form we received for 10 rooms included just 2 names, attached are the vouchers for the reservations made for these 2 names before they have been cancelled as per the customer's request.

As we informed before, please note that the reservation has been booked and confirmed for 2 rooms however, how should the guest confirm the rooms through the hotel while the other 8 rooms have been booked under TBD names. Also, please note that each room is booked separately so, the hotel won't have a record for the group reservation.

      Thanks,

      Complaint* ********

I am rejecting this response because: it still makes no sense and is trying to place the blame on the hotel which is a lie. They did everything in their power to try to find any reservation under the two names given, which Conventioneers now admits they should have been able to do, or under the TBD names. They also confirmed multiple times that with the information I was able to provide (i.e. date reservation was made, dates of reservation, 2/10 names, card information...) they could easily find the reservation.

If Conventioneers did make the reservation for the two rooms with names then why were they not able to be found by multiple employees with multiple attempts. Additionally even with rooms booked under TBD that does not mean they cannot use other information to confirm our reservation.

If conventioneers is telling the truth then the hotel has committed gross incompetence. Which I find hard to believe given how hard they tried to confirm the reservation for me and the fact I spoke to multiple booking managers. I find it much more likely Conventioneers either made a mistake and never placed the reservation or even worse tried to take our money fraudulently. Either way they continue to lie and only processed the reimbursement after receiving this complaint. At one point even cutting all communication.

I am happy to have received my refund but that does not mean Conventioneers either were incredibly incompetent or worse actively fraudulent. In an ideal world even if they are being wholly honest they failed at providing the service paid for. If we pay to make a reservation and the hotel cannot confirm our reservation then Conventioneers has failed in providing their 3rd party service. And they cannot require customers to have to rely on a rude woman over the phone telling me to trust them they have provided the service we paid for.

      Sincerely,

      *** ******
