I purchased something from this business and without my knowledge or signing up, I was put on a subscription! Monthly they have been charging me $29.99 for quite some time. I haven't used that card until recently and happened to check my account for an unrelated matter. Then I ran across their monthly charges. I want them stopped and a refund of the money they've been takingInitial Complaint

Made purchase August 2023 for $29.99. I made no additional purchases and Company has been charging my account each month since for $29.99. They have taken $ $239.92 without authorization. I did not knowingly join any organization or desire to make a contribution. I am aware of numerous similar complaints against this organization and feel action should be taken to have it stopped. I would request a refund from them in the amount of $239.92 and want my name and financial information. (Credit card) deleted immediately.Business response

Purchased some t shirts in 2023. I did not intentionally join their club while making purchase. Then the fun starts with a monthly charge to my credit card of *****. Going to website to stop this charge, I get no answer. The phone number only instructs one to either leave message or send an e/mail to their support ***** The requested information was placed on the voice message, and the e/mail link does not work. I went around their website with the email quiry, but never received an answer, all the while they continued to charge my card. I am requesting removal from their membership roles and full refund of paid amounts charged to my credit card. Thank you.Business response

Hello,
We are sorry about the confusion regarding your subscription. It looks like you opted into our monthly 1776 Society membership when you placed your order. This was on the original order form that you filled out and on the confirmation email with instructions on how to cancel it if you needed to. We also sent email reminders every month prior to you being charged.
We did check our records regarding all communications with our team and our customer service agents have responded to every email and voicemail that you have left, you may want to check your spam folders.
It looks like you kept placing orders adding the membership to each order so every time our agents would cancel one you would start a new one with your next order. All memberships have been cancelled and you have also been refunded.
If you have any further questions please email our team at **************************Initial Complaint

We did check our records regarding all communications with our team. We have no emails from you, the only contact we had from you was a call on November 16th but you didn't leave a message so our agent emailed you asking what they can help you with and we received no response.
Our emails may be going to your spam folder so I would ask that you check that.
We have gone ahead and processed a refund for the last 120 days (4 months) for you and we hope this is a satisfactory resolution.

A month ago I made a purchase for $10.00. I was very carefull not to sign up for any further purchases or join any "clubs", "memberships", or "trial periods" of any kinds. Today my bank's fraud division notified me by text that I had been ripped off by this company for $29.99. When I called the bank they told me it would be a recurring charge. Apparently they planned to steal this amount from me forever. I had to cancel my card and tomorrow I have to drive to the bank and get a new card. I will have to re-enter the new card for all my utility payments. I want my money back. What I want is treble damages for the theft as well as the inconveniences to me. {$89.97)Business response

I bought a t-shirt online for $5 plus shipping - $11.99 total. Now, I am suddenly a member of the 1776 Society and they have been charging me $29.99 a month on my credit card. Never authorized and my credit card company cannot stop it because it is a recurring charge. I have called (they tell you on the recording they don’t answer the phone) and emailed twice. They need to refund $89.97 to me. I am fast approaching the next deduction. I will have to cancel my card to get out of this mess and I just don’t think I am going to do that without a fight. This is criminal behavior and it needs to stop.
