We were walking along the Freemont Street Experience while on vacation in Las Vegas, Nevada. We were approached by a Timeshare Company solicitor who offered us $200 in casino play money in exchange for our attendance at a **************minute presentation about vacation ownership. The meeting was not what we expected. The meeting environment was crowded and noisy. We had difficulty hearing and felt as though we had no privacy. We attempted to leave the presentation but were persuaded by Timeshare Company salespeople to stay with offers of better sales prices. We were told we were purchasing vacation ownership and that our points could be used to book luxury vacations easily. We were told the price we were being offered was good only for the day of the presentation. If we left to think about the deal, it would not be available upon our return. Timeshare Company salespeople led us to believe we were making an investment which would increase in value. Timeshare Company salespeople assured us we could easily book vacations any time of the year and any place in the world. We were told our family and friends could use our timeshare without any additional fees. We were told Maintenance Fees would never increase. We felt pushed into making a purchase and that we were rushed through closing. We received only superficial summaries and explanation on the documents we were signing. We have been led by Timeshare Company closing agents to believe we did not need to read all the documents and were told the documents were "standard contracts." We felt distracted by "small talk" during signing. We did not receive copies of all our documents at closing. We have not been able to use our property. We have been told no accommodations are available when we wanted to travel. We have not been able to use our promised free vacations to Hawaii and Jamaica.
