Total paid: $23,548 for a ****** Chaser Turbo (was not a turbo engine like advertised.Purchased on 08/01/2024 from Mint Auto specializing in JDM imports.based on ads and website and the confirmations given to me numerous times that it was in fact the car advertised. Make: ****** Model: Chaser Turbo.I have spent the last 9 months trying to diagnose why the turbos kept blowing on this vehicle. The turbo that was prior installed on the car, came from dealership, only last a short few rides around my neighborhood before it gave out and blew. I purchased new one had shop install it and tune it, and it also blew right away. Had manufacturers rebuild the turbo send it back, and after last 5 months of diagnosing the issue and figuring out why the turbo was not getting supplied any oil through the oil feed line connected to the block (same location as oem turbo oil lines are installed) but I lost another turbo again now and only after months of replacing parts cleaning any clogs from fluid lines and old hoses that the only possible outcome is that the actual block is just a ****** 1jz-GE Model and not the ****** 1jz-GTE Model (T for turbo). Which explains why that port didn't get any oil coming out of it. That is a closed off port on the ** models because they do not have turbos. Someone stuck a GTE head and a old turbo from another car that knew it would blow immediately and now im left with this financial disaster and not the car I was told only worth half of what I was misled to believe. I cant get the time spent but I want to return this car or get the difference in value refunded. There is currently a ** model for $13,000 on their site and I paid $23,548 for what we now understand is a GE Model. I am not including all the blown turbos and shop invoices paid trying to professionally diagnose and replace parts, time spent on what I thought was to be 1jz-GTE Turbo model from the promises of this auto company their employees and advertisements only for it to not be.

So I bought a 2019 ****** Corolla from this dealership 2 months ago Ive only made 2 payments on the car. I drove from ******** to their ******* location sat there for 8 hours while trying to get a car and had no displeasment from my experience trying to be nice. And as I was driving home from work today the April 9 the clutch completely went out on me I had to have the car towed 50+ miles from ***** to my house in ******** costed me over $500. I called the dealership and the best they could offer me was a discount on the parts to fix it.i called trying to get ahold of the manager of the dealership and the manager would not pick up my call and left me on hold for awhile. I called the ****** dealership and gave them all of the info I could about my situation and here is the report number-************

    Business Response

    Date: 04/09/2025

As much as we would like to help you, a clutch is a wear and tear item. Improper use can make a clutch on a brand new car go out as well. This is why no warranty company offers protection on it. We cant be held responsible for a clutch going bad 2 months after purchase.

    Customer Answer

    Date: 04/09/2025

    Complaint: 23182810

I am rejecting this response because:

the clutch is not whats wrong with car it is the slave cylinder which is not a wear and tear component and was not from improper use it can not be said that this was not a know issue by the dealership and knowing sold the car like it was when it was purchased. Since I paid the service fee from the dealership that should have covered the wear and tear along with the other things that are due to be serviced and I am asking for help in this case from the dealership for which I have not been offered any help or any response any good dealership should at least work with someone on a situation like this. Being told that its buyers fault that they caused this for improper use that would mean that other components like the clutch which was not an issue when it still worked until the slave cylinder blew and left me stranded 50miles from home. I would not have made it that far if it was caused by wear and tear. When something has wear and tear it gradually breaks down and does just break in a instant.
    Sincerely,

    ******* ****

Customer has the right to get the vehicle inspected and chose not to. Also have the opportunity to buy a warranty but chose not to. Unfortunately we won't be able to assist in this matter.

I bought a car from mint auto sales yesterday and drove off the lot at 5pm I put 93 premium gas as they advised me and wanted me too, today when I was taking a drive then went to park I turned my car off and then I turned it on and it wouldnt stay turned on it hasnt even been 24 hours since I drove off the lot been about 14 hrs since I drive off when the problem happened. I came here and they told me it was a battery problem so they changed it then a while later they told me theres another problem with something else so then I was on the phone with my father explaining that they tried accusing me putting the wrong fuel when I said that, the manager got irritated and we got in a argument then he kicked me out the show room which is very disrespectful because he should understand that Im in the right regardless what happens so now I dont want the car its been less than ***************************************************************************************************************** they have nothing to do with it.

This matter was resolved. Customer bought car as is. We still fixed out of good faith but customers tone in the showroom in front of other customers, and calling the police, shows that he has no intention in being cordial. Will not be helping out at all.

I was browsing Car Gurus looking to purchase a new vehicle when I came across the perfect car for me. A 2004 ****** Matrix list for $6,495. Upon contacting Mint Auto Sales I was told by sales manager ******* ***** that the actual price of the vehicle is $7,495. When I asked why the prices varied I was informed that they list the vehicle lower to entice more traffic. I believe in the state of ******* this is considered Deceptive Advertising. Falsifying advertisement to get more people interested is in fact illegal. After speaking with ******* he said he could not work with me on the price but could work with me on the interest rates. I find it extremely unfair and unjust to poach people like this. I would love some kind of resolution, thank you.

    Business Response

Theres a disclaimer posted on every website where our cars are listed. The $6495 price is a financing price if a customer qualifies. Nothing deceptive about it.

The vehicle is listed online for multiple prices. ******* the Sales manager specifically told me over the phone that they post the lower price to gain attention on the post. Regardless of a fine print disclaimer it was misleading representation of the vehicles price. I would be more than happy to settle this is small claims court. Per FTC this is a violation of false advertising.

Purchased the car 8/27/2024 That same week I had an issue with the suspension that rendered the car inoperable and I couldnt drive it for 2 weeks ********* steering / suspension fluid literally drained from a faulty hose completely; leaving me with an Active Body Control error tied to the suspension that If left untreated my car would have sunk completely and I would not be able to drive it at all. I took it to the dealer and they said theyd repair it. Which they did. While driving to the dealer the underbody starting flapping under the vehicle. I attempted to use zip ties to secure it under the vehicle I brought up this issue. They said theyd repair would fix it but they did nothing. Upon further inspection. I discovered that they basically cut the underbody splash shield in half to get to a part without properly removing it. This week. Only 2 months after I bought the car the *** light came on again And this was when I discovered a broken boot on my drivers side strut And the passenger side strut is cracked on the bottom near the ball joint. Now Im left with and non drive-able vehicle only two months after purchasing it. I paid ****** down And have 8000 left to pay in financing. I believe I was overcharged as well for this vehicle. There was a lot of things hidden regarding condition and more. Basically Im left with a non drive-able vehicle and every attempt to remedy this situation is being ignored I need assistance. I did research and found that the owner of this dealership has been tried for fraud in the past. I would like a replacement a drive-able vehicle. This is unacceptable I have a friend who bought a ***** from another dealer for ************************************************************************************************************************************** look for work. I bought this car so I can get around and do important things I need to do. But I cant now and Im falling into a depression because of this

I have spent two months trying to contact this business regarding a solution. And the response is exactly what I expected from them. The same level of ignorance and un professionalism I have had to deal with

the entire time I have tried to contact them during this process.

    Vehicle was sold As Is

    pretty much barely drive-able

just a few patchwork fixes and get it out the way. just like many vehicles they have in their inventory

selling a Camry with Major damage for $18,000?

I may just have to get a lawyer

    Business Response

    Date: 11/05/2024

Mint Auto Sales has told me that the owner has offered to exchange the vehicle. But this is a lie. The owner has not called me. She never will. They are stalling to ride out the 90 days. They have ignored my calls hung up on me and refused to answer the phone or call me back. This dealership is a fraudulent business scamming consumers like they scammed me

    which so far hasnt happened

I would like to exchange this vehicle

but there has to be communication

    so far that hasnt happened

zero callbacks hanging up on me and threatening to block me when I have to make payments to your dealership

I would like to exchange this vehicle for a functional good driving vehicle and whatever cost offsets adjusted

    without the resistance

    thank you

Mint Auto Sales sells salvaged non drivable vehicles. Fraudulently passing them off as sellable they were selling a STOLEN Mercedes (Maybach) S63

    not that long ago.

I saw the car it was a hybrid.
    I checked the carfax

it was listed as stolen and whoever stole it tried to burn the vehicle down

it was originally white. But the one they listed in the photos was a dark grey matte color almost black as if someone attempted to burn it down.

they sell non drivable vehicles to customers put them on *********************************************************** a non drivable vehicle. Then their cars break down only days later and they have to spend upwards of tens of thousands on repairs. This makes it impossible for most customers to make their payments because they are financially drained from the exorbitant repair costs and are forced to surrender their vehicle or have it repossessed

they do this to steal customers down payments. They did this to at least 70% of their customers.
they have terrible reviews all over the internet and a majority of their customers are clear victims of Auto Dealership fraud

and they say just this much in their reviews

if you search Mint Auto Sales

their ****** is full of fake reviews

they refuse to exchange my vehicle as they offered to do so libelously on this website

    this is Libel

    its is a crime.

On top of this company committing fraud over and over again

they are trying to block me from making payments to their business so they can try to repossess my vehicle AND steal the ****** down payment that I made for this vehicle

    I dont want an exchange.
I want all my money back and damages for pain and suffering

This is the biggest set of lies I've ever heard. There's no point reasoning with you. You sit at home and make up lies and think that they are valid because you typed them out on a computer screen. We have never bought or sold a stolen vehicle. We have over 2000 reviews, with 90% of them a 5 star. That lets you know the service we provide. You bought a car that was sold AS is and you can't afford the maintance on it. That's not our fault. Take ownership for your purchase and stop putting blame on others.

This business did not send me a proper repo notice and they repoed my car illegally with my tags on the vehicle and property inside. I just made a payment on this vehicle. Every attempt I have made to rectify this matter has been ignored. I paid ****** for a broken car. I lost my apartment in ***** my job in ***** because I couldnt drive the car safely to *****. These are not lies. I also lost over 2500 dollars maintaining this vehicle as well as a ****** down payment they refused to provide me with a sufficient exchange and they refuse to answer my calls or do businesss with me. This business scammed me and defrauded me out of ****** I made my payment I was going to make another and before I could they Took the car from me. Mint Auto sales sold me a vehicle that needed at least ****** in repairs. They knew it was not safe to drive they did a terrible patch job on the car and then repoed it even though I had it less than 90 days. I made a payment I was going to make another payment. They never sent me a notice of repossession. And they took the car as retaliation for leaving a complaint against them with the BBB. What Mint Did to me is illegal. And the Better Business Bureau s Aiding and Abetting in this criminal fraudulent activity

Mint Auto Sales used Unlawful and Deceptive Business Practices selling me this car. They sold me this car with Malicious Intent. And now I cant even get help from the BBB. Mint Auto Sales repossessed my car illegally without any notice. I received no repossession notice.
I was scammed out of ******

plus Mint Auto Sales has been ignoring my phone calls and blowing me off  they have my license plate and my tags and refuse to give them to me because they dont want me to turn them in to prevent my license from getting suspended  ********************** has property of mine still in the vehicle which they stole from me as well  I had the car less than 90 days and was making the payments  but as an act of retribution for seeking help with my problem they illegally repossessed my vehicle and theyre immature taunts prove that they feel they are above the law and yes they did sell a stolen car I was tempted to buy it bust had second thoughts after seeing the carfax which said it was stolen it was a Mercedes Maybach Hybrid they were selling for around ****** dollars

On 8/27/24 I traveled all the way from ***** to purchased a vehicle from Mint Auto Sales. I was told the vehicle was in mint condition. It was the car I always wanted. I put ****** down on the vehicle and they set me up with a buy here pay here contract. From the very next day 8/25/24 I started having problems with the vehicle. The hydraulic fluid was leaking from the roof and from the suspension which caused catastrophic failure of my cars suspension system. As well as preventing the convertible top to work. I drove to ***** that day to take care of things in ***** while I was driving my underbody also started flapping under the car. Upon further inspection I noticed that the underbody had been cut improperly and was improperly attached to the vehicle Before I owned it causing it to fail And that it was damaging the components under the car. I called Mint Auto Sales and they told me they would address the issue. So I went back to ******* to take care of the issue. And they stalled so I had to wait a week for them to take the car. While waiting I attempted to fill the fluid thinking it was just a leak. When I turned on my car, All the fluid poured out of my car. From the very first week of owning this vehicle it was unsafe to drive. And as a result when I came back to get it fixed I wound up stranded in *******. I spent the next month staying at my friends house trying to get this addressed and Mint Auto Sales kept giving me the run around
They took the car. Did a small patch job which didnt fix the car and they also did something that damaged the car worse. Within the next day of me receiving the car back. My suspension started acting up again as well as my underbody. It was flapping really bad. While on the highway I was switching lanes and heard a loud popping noise and I called Mint Auto Sales and the seemed to know everything that was wrong with my car. Things I was never told even when I asked. They told me they would take care of it. I ended up staying I. ******* because I couldnt drive my car to ***** and as a result I lost my Apartment and my Job in ***** and was stranded in ******* with nowhere to go. I had to **** a $5000 chain to fix this car and make my car payments. I kept up with the payments even while the never ending list of issues made it very difficult for me to do so. I paid ****** down and it hasnt even been 90 days. They lied to me and offered to exchange the vehicle which they never did. I reached out to the better business bureau and they are helping the dealership scam me they wont help me. I lost everything. I lost ****** and a 6000 chain and Im stuck taking buses. And I had back surgery this year. The amount of pain and suffering I am going through because of this is immeasurable. I need help and so far Im being told it is legal for businesses to scam in *******. Im so confused angry and upset. The way I was treated is wrong I was the victim of a scam. My vehicle was also illegally repossessed they stole my tags so I cant turn them into the Tax Collectors and will end up with a suspended license. My property is in the vehicle and Im trying to recover my property. The dealership has my vehicle and they refuse to answer any calls they have been ignoring my calls since the first week Ive had this car.

A Theft recovery vehicle is not the same as a stolen vehicle. Please get your facts straight. You were late on your payments, we tried multiple times to work it out with you but you chose to not pay and instead, file DMV complaints and BBB complaints. The car was repossessed and you were informed multiple times over the phone to make the payments prior to that occurring. As far as your belongings, you can come collect them.

I am rejecting this response because:

I was not called or contacted multiple times that is a lie

I even went inside the business and tried

    to have an exchange made

Mint Auto Sales refused and only offered me a trade in and valued the car at 5000

but said I could only take a 2000 dollar car

nothing else  With zero actual cash back in hand

so my deal was to take a $5000 trade in valuation after paying ****** dollars down

take a 2000 dollar car and get zero money back  so I lose another 3000

    Scam after scam after scam

Im not stupid and this was offensive

they also expressly stated directly to me that they would be terminating ALL business going forward

I tried to make another payment and it was refused while I was present at the business in person

I refused to take a non driveable ****** Yaris with completely torn out and destroyed interior that smelled like a whole farm lived in it  was severely damaged and dented up  and had almost ******* miles on it and was possibly stolen. At the very least a salvage title.
I want my property in the vehicle

I want some of my money back at least

and also Mint Auto Sales has my Plate and tags and refuses to return them to me which constitutes as theft of my property

they are attempting to destroy my life by not allowing me to have my plates so I can turn them in to avoid getting

my license suspended  since I dont have a car even though I paid $****** down and made payments on this car since I bought it

and ended up losing $****** and had my car repossessed as retaliation and retribution for making a bad review and complaining to the BBB

Mint Auto never intended to let me keep this car  they are running a scam  they sell this POS as is and non drivable all shined up and when the customers realize it has bad suspension and a severe leak in the *** that they patch up briefly they want to exchange it and then Mint ceases all contact doesnt answer their phones and even refuse payments

I made a payment last week and was about to make one that day I was there and that week

they repoed my car illegally without notice

refused all my calls and hang up on me I will provide pictures screenshots

Mint is cocky and they feel empowered because they have been defrauding customers out of hundreds of thousands for many years and getting away with it

just like they are dong to me with this well laid out scam they pulled on me with this buy here pay here grift

now pay me some of my money

    like 8000 worth

    thank you

    Sincerely,

    ******* *****

I am not satisfied with the Better Business Bureaus desire to help scammers and make it possible for them to continue scamming. I was sold a car with severely damaged suspension components. And with pieces from the underbody basically installed in such a way that they were designed to destroy the suspension.
this was a well laid out scam by Mint Auto Sales with help from shady sites that claim to help consumers but do nothing like the Better Business Bureau.
I find it entertaining that Mint was allowed to commit libel / fraud and was essentially rewarded for this behavior

repoed my car on nov17 as retribution For leaving bad reviews on this scam dealership selling cars that need extensive repairs to be drivable making it difficult for customers to make payments its a well laid out scam that this company has done with permission from the Florida government to thousands. They stole my sunglasses which were $500in value

hired drug addicts to repossess my car.
this business needs to be shut down

My husband bought a 2007 ******** STS-V on 8/23/24 from ***************** in ******* **. All correspondence was done over the phone, emails and online. The car was delivered to our address in ************ on 8/24/24 by a 3rd party. Upon arrival there was a strong gasoline smell and had a difficult time starting. On 9/6/24 we were able to take the car to a mechanic to diagnose the fuel smell. On 9/3/24 the mechanic informed us he needed to drop the fuel tank to find the issue. On 9/4/24 the mechanic informed us the car needed a new fuel pump assembly. We were quoted $3,700 for the repair. The car had been on the lot for a significant amount of time and the dealership said had my husband not contacted them about the car it would have been sent to auction. This likely indicates that people whom test drove the car could also smell the gasoline and knew this car was likely going to need repairs. The dealer had to know the car was in need of major repairs. We were never informed there were any major mechanical issues with the car. It was never disclosed there was a fuel smell.

Vehicle was sold as is with no fuel pump issues present. Unfortunately, we cannot assist here. Also $3800 to fix that problem looks like their Mechanic is trying to hit the lotto. Please get a second opinion. That's a $400-500 job max, labor and parts included.

I am rejecting this response because: The car smelled if gas as soon as it came off the delivery truck. While the car did start and run it was leaking fuel! My mechanic is a very reputable one. He uses ******* parts because of their warranty. Attached is a photo of the cost of an ACDelco fuel pump assembly straight from the ******* website.

****************** had asked us to get a second opinion for the fuel pump assembly repair. Here are the 2 estimates we have. Some information to keep in mind is that we live in a small town in ************. Our population is less than ***** people. If a mechanic is shady, or trying to hit the lottoas they put it in their response, they will not survive in a town this small as word of mouth get around very quickly. His labor costs are lower than most at $105/hr. l have been taking my vehicles to him for close to 9 years with no issue. Our cost of living also tends to be lower than other states and metro areas.

We have the phone number of the driver who delivered the car and plan to ask him for a statement verifying the fuel smell upon pickup and delivery of the vehicle. Selling a car without disclosing a major repair to someone who purchases it from out of state is shady and unethical. There was a reason it had been sitting on the lot for so long. The fuel smells should have been disclosed since we were not physically present to smell it ourselves. That information could have determined a different outcome.

    Business Response

If there was a fuel leak, the driver would not have loaded the car, and we wouldn't have released it. It would be a DOT violation so please get a statement from the driver to confirm your suspicions. Once you hear back that the fuel leak was not present, I will advise you again to get a second opinion.

DOT regulations state if you can control a leak then you can transport. The leak happens when the fuel pump is active. A fuel pump will not pump fuel without the engine running. So, if it is not running, there would not be a visible leak. It is likely since the car was only running to move on and off the trailer you would not have been able to physically see a leak in that short of time. Hence would not have been caught by the driver or any DOT inspectors. The tank had less than 1/4 of the tank of fuel when it arrived which would have limited any leaks from vibration.  Furthermore, I would venture to guess there were people who test drove the car before we purchased it, they would have smelled the gasoline smell and likely decided to not buy the car. I would also bet your staff would have been able to smell the gasoline. How is it possible your staff thought that was normal?  A fuel pump doesnt just go bad during transport. We are just asking to be compensated for a portion of the repairs. We understand there is a risk when purchasing a used vehicle, but this was a major repair that should have been disclosed.

    Sincerely,

I recently bought a car from Mint Auto Sales, www.mintautotrader.com The owner is ***********************. *************************************************************************** **************. I spoke to the agent, *******, and was informed that the vehicle was in good shape inside and out. Unfortunately, it was NOT. Because I live out of the state of *******, I had to hire an inspector to look at the vehicle. Between the dealer, manager, car salesman and the mechanic who inspected the car, all of them did not give me an accurate report. After I bought the car and received it via the transport company, I saw the real condition. The car had major scratches, dents, and faded paint. The inside smelled of cigarettes and marijuana. It is really bad. When I called the manager to complain, he acted like I was bothering him with the complaint and tried to blame it on the mechanic and inspector. Typical small dealership that is dishonest in selling their cars and adding on a lot of fees at the end. (Which I was not informed.) Any ideas of the worst car purchase you can think of is what this dealership is. STAY AWAY FOR YOUR OWN SAKE. The next day, we received 5 charges on our Apple Music store for a total of $137. I was told by Apple that it was the same person from ******* making these charges. Today, 7/12/24, we received a scam text from ******* regarding an Amazon charge of $1499 for a notebook computer. The text phone number on the Amazon charge is **************. Since I bought a car from them, they have all of our personal information. If you ****** Mint Auto sales, there are a ton of complaints and they are not accredited by the BBB. I read that they were not sending the license plates to their customers. I will also need my plates. What can I do? Please look into this and help us. Thank you.******************* ************ ********************

We have a $750.00 100%REFUNDABLE deposit via Zelle, on a 2015 Jeep. Found out it wasnt going to work for our needs. We only do non refundable deposits. You asked us to hold the car, were very persistent that you were indeed going to buy it. We told you about the deposit, you agreed. We sent you videos and pictures, you were 100% set on the car, and then you changed your mind. That's not how it works.

This is to inform you even though Mint Auto has not responded to this complaint, I have new information that will allow BBB to closeout this complaint.

I received the permanent vehicle Tag and Registration om 3-15-24 via US **** Services (refer to attachments), which was **** Marked 3-13-24.

In reviewing the permanent registration it will show that Mint Auto obtained the Tag and Registration on 3-6-24, one day after had called them about the issue.  And yet, Mint Auto did not mail the Tag and Registration until 3-13-24, a week later.

Additionally, I wish to add to this complaint some details that would be important to anyone considering buying from Mint Auto:

When negotiating with the Salesperson, ***************************** verbally and via Text messages, he agreed to Ship the vehicle to me. The salesperson also performed a Facetime video chat walk around the vehicle with me so I could assess the condition since I was buying the vehicle online.  I was told the tires were in good shape and that there were no issues with the car.  After three days after the purchase transaction was complete the salesperson kept making excuses about getting the delivered, so I hired a local transports service near the dealership and it cost me $400 to have it delivered.

Three days after receiving the vehicle on 1-5-24, the manual clutch would not work and the vehicle had to be towed to a service shop, where it was discovered that the vehicle required a new clutch and flywheel cost $1,400.

Two days later, the front right tire blew out and the it was discovered that the wheel had a crack. Ended up replacing all the wheels and tires, costing $1,600.

2 weeks after receiving the engine started failed, $800

All this and it took the dealership 3 months to provide the permanent Tag and Registration. I would not recommend doing business with this dealership.
