  We purchased a few fruit trees from LaRoche to include an avocado. I was excited and took pictures the day we purchased and sent to a friend. We kept it in the pot to test the prospective planting location for wind before planting. About 4 days later I noticed several brown leaves and I had not watered since purchased since we had rain. I went back and looked at photos from purchase date and noticed their were signs of fungus with several brown spots as shown in pictures on the date of purchase. I called and spoke with one of the ladies that helped us and she said to treat with Neem oil, when expressing concern that Neem oil would not correct fungus issues from my recent reading, she spike with another lady who said a copper spray would work. We purchased a copper spray and have sprayed it once a week. We planted it in the grown thinking that may help dry out any fungus and most of the roots were black. Other than watering the hole when planting and a little water the subsequent days we have not watered. I called and spoke to Chris today after sending an email to Lou without a response. He said to try epsom salts and another type of copper spray. When expressing my concern of them selling me a diseased tree I asked if they would give me the copper spray they recommended or exchange the avocado tree and he said they would not. This was a reasonable request since I purchased a diseased tree for $150 with proof of fungus on the day purchased.

Neglect and then over reacting to sprays and doing too many things probably hurt more than help. Regardless, the tree did not survive-was not something that is a fault of us selling a diseased tree! *An offer to sell a replacement tree at 1/2 the selling price is agreed. LaRoche- Lew. Not comfortable spending anymore money with this business and unsatisfied with their lack of service. Issues were present on day one of purchase and I was just an uninformed buyer and didn't realize it had a fungus until more leaves were affected and I looked into it. The copper treatment was not overdone and used as directed. Thank you BBB for your attempt to resolve this complaint.
