On January 7, 2023, I gave *********************, owner of Knotty Kingdom, a $1250.00 check for a down payment for a wall bed. She cashed the check 10 minutes after leaving my house. She said it would be about 13 weeks for the bed, I told her I could wait 4 months. The months passed and no wall bed. She rarely answered any text messages or calls. She kept coming up with excuses as to why the bed was not built. She finally promised an installation date, 8 months after I gave her a deposit, only to not respond to three text messages the days before, asking her what time she would arrive. On the installation date, she called with an excuse of *********, and promised to call me back later in the day to get a date to install later in the week. She never called and did not answer my text messages. She essentially ghosted me. When she gave me an installation date, I gave away my existing bedroom furniture. I had guests arriving and texted her that I HAD to have the bed installed the week of my text. She never responded. Two weeks later, she called and left a message to call her, no other message, such as saying the bed was ready. I responded that I wanted my deposit back. I was having guests and needed bedroom furniture so I had to buy other furniture. I requested my deposit back, and she never responded.Since then, I see on Yelp that she has scammed other people, one even took her to small claims court, and she defaulted. No show. I have copies of all texts between us. I just went to PayPal to retrieve a copy of the receipt she sent me (via PayPal), but PayPal has now removed her, stating that the invoice isn't available because PayPal found her to be a scam. I'm glad I still have a copy of the emailed invoice.I'm 68 years old, and live on a pension. I simply want my deposit back. She has scammed an elderly woman, and she needs to be accountable.
