This occurred on February 22, 2022. I did not hire Monte's Tree Service, yet they came and "trimmed" a beautiful oak tree at my house by mistake per Monte. They were hired to trim an oak tree two houses down from mine. I take great care with my oak trees and hire only an arborist to do the work as they can be damaged if improperly trimmed. I did not hire Monte's. When I finally reached Monte after 6 attempts by phone, his response to my complaint was, "it will grow back". That may be true to an extent but the shape of the tree went from a beautiful canopy to 3 branches that shoot up into the air with all the under story branches gone. I lost shade and privacy that I needed for the house. The cuts were amaturish and had to be remedied by an arborist who I paid to make repairs to the cuts. The arborist said that he removed branches that should have been removed gradually over the next 5-10 years. That is a lot of cutting at one time and severely disfigured the tree. When I asked for an apology, he would not do so - even though it was his error. He did not offer to pay for the arborist's repairs when I told him that I would incur a cost of an arborist because of this mistake. There was no remedy offered at all for his mistake and no apology. The character of this business was demonstrated. I do not recommend this business because of the interaction I had and also because I believe the work was sub-standard and because his work cost me money . Oaks should be left to professionals.
