On May 18 an agreement was made with Moving with ****** to move our furniture and appliances to our new home .They started the process around 11:00 am and finished around 10:30 pm.Before the move began I showed him what I needed move because I have exceptional heavy furniture he said that they could handle the job no problem. Also I told him to let me know an hour ahead before you move the refrigerator so I could remove all the food.Well needless to say by the time they finish loading the furniture they had already wrapped and strapped the refrigerator to the dolly by the time I returned. After 30 min of trying to force out the they decide to remove the door handles on the refrigerator after 15 min of trying to force it again they decided to remove the door to the house again 20 min of trying to force it out door they finally did .I figured with him having experience in moving appliances he should have know a loaded refrigerator with food is an extra 150lbs .Well with the truck loaded they arrived at our new home and began removing the furniture and appliances. They sat everything inside unwrapped some of the pieces but not all. When we notice that refrigerator had severe damage we bought it to his attention. His said no problem I will take care it even if I have to replace it .I will with my insurance company. He notated it on the invoice so I paid what I owed him $2500.He text me and said his insurance will not cover it but I found out that before you are issued license in Florida you must have liability insurance. He insists that he will pay for just send me your invoice when you purchased it.I did that .Now he backing out on what he said he would do BEFORE I paid. Now that he is paid he says there is a release of liability where he wrote damage to refrigerator. If I would have seen where he notated it on my receipt he would have not been paid But I guess that a trick of the trade. That refrigerator is $4400.I need him to replace the fridge as promised.

    Business Response

Both the complaint and response provide a more detailed account of the job, including communications between Mr. ***** and ******* ****** ******* owner of Moving with ******.  I have been in business for approximately a year now.  This is the first complaint that has been filed against my company.  I value and respect all customers and handle their property with care, as do my employees.   We do our best to accommodate all customer requests or instruction specifically as given.

I’m sure you will agree as you read through the attached complaint and response filed with the Department of Agriculture that Mr. ***** ignored my request to remove items from the refrigerator and further declined to remove the doors upon discovery that the item would not fit through the exit way, fully aware of the potential damage to the refrigerator and possibly the door frame.  At that point I asked Mr. ***** to sign a Hold Harmless Agreement which he agreed with and signed willingly.

Upon delivery to the new address, we noticed that there was minor cosmetic damage to the refrigerator.  I contacted my insurance company who informed me that they would deny any claims submitted for the repair or replacement of any items unless the damage occurred inside the moving truck.  I contacted Mr. ***** after speaking with my insurance company to inform him that I would not be filing a claim through my insurance company and the reason.  As a show of good faith and to try to satisfy Mr. *****, I offered to replace the refrigerator doors; to which he denied.  That offer is no longer open.

At this time, I will not take any further action on this claim.  I feel that Mr. ***** is being irritational and unwilling to see that this could’ve been prevented had he followed my professional and expert advice from the beginning.  Therefore, I do not feel that I am personally or professionally liable or responsible for any claims set forth by Mr. ***** at this time.

Thank you for your time.  For further information please contact me at ***** ********.

    Sincerely,

    ****** ******* *****

These photos show the damage that was done by Moving With ****** that Mr ****** refers to as minor damage.Mr ****** obviously don’t put much value on people personal he is being paid to move but we valve our property. That I thought I was hiring a trustworthy moving company but I guess not.Mr ****** stated that I refused to have the doors moved. We have detailed video footage of the doors being removed it also shows me holding the flashlight while his employee re-install the door. The interior video can hear me asking him to let me know at least an hour before he remove the refrigerator so I can remove the contents nowhere in the video where it shows I signed release of liability except where he wrote it in himself at the new home after he saw the damages. This video show Mr ****** was untrustworthy and I made a mistake by hiring him.
