My employer offer Aflac. Clear Light Insurance Services was the representative between my employer and Aflac. Since August of 2021, I had a Hospital Indemnity policy through Aflac that was being deducted from my payroll every week. On August 17, 2022, I had a discussion with ***** from Clear Light Insurance Services about possibly cancelling my Hospital Indemnity policy. On August 18, 2022, I advised ***** that I decided to not cancel the policy and keep same. On October 4, 2022, I was advised by ***** that the hospital policy was cancelled, which was surprise to me because during this time, my employer was deducting the premiums from my payroll every week. When I brought this issue to *****, she advised that she would work on it. I advised ***** that I had to undergo a lumbar puncture at *************************************** in *********************. ***** told me that I would be paid a $2,000.00 benefit and they would get the policy reinstated. The policy was not reinstated until sometime in November 2022. I had supplied Aflac and ***** copies of medical records, operative report and medical billing for this procedure, and again, ***** advised I would be paid $2,000.00 for the lumbar puncture procedure, I would be paid a benefit for the *** I underwent on August 4, 2022 and I would paid for the various doctors' visits and follow up visits. As of this the date of this complaint, I have only received $195.00 and was told that is all the benefits I would receive. When I have tried to email, call and text *****, I was told to be patient each time. I have attached some email chains between, myself, ***** and my former employer showing how deductions from my payroll was being made but the ************** policy was cancelled. ***** from Clear Light should be better instructed on the products she is selling to employees. I have been caused some much stress over this. I needed that $2,000.00 to help pay for my medical bills and that is what Aflac advertises.
