I missed a call from a number with an area code that I am familiar with. Called back and the person answered knowing exactly who I was, stating they were from Mediation Account Center. They then explained that I took out a loan for $500 and its about to be sent to litigation if I dont settle immediately. Quick backstory. I was once a young adult who made many terrible decisions. Definitely took out loans and was irresponsible. Fast forward 15 years, I am now a responsible adult who has paid all his debts and has an exceptional credit score. Point is, at first I was worried one of my terrible decisions slipped through the cracks. They caught me off guard and were very convincing. Saying I needed to pay immediately. They said I now owed $1200 but we could negotiate a deal. We agreed on $650. I told him I would pay today but I needed to see documents on the loan. They said they would send a docusign email and insisted all the documentation was attached. They also insisted that I open the email and sign while on the phone. I opened the email and it had zero information. Just had a link saying review document. I know better to start clicking links. So I started asking questions about their company. I then asked for their address and they asked me What does our address have to do with your debt? Thats when I knew it was a scam. They had all my info including full social security number. This is a very sophisticated scam and it really makes me uncomfortable. I have a feeling this wont be the end. The numbers they called from are ************** and **************.Initial Complaint

Fraudulent company trying to get me to pay back on an alleged payday loan from before. 2015. I researched the number they called me from ************** and found that multiple complaints have been filed with BBB. On 1/18/2023 The woman rep attempted to use scare tactics to get me to pay something that I do not owe. I asked for documentation to be sent to me in writing via mail and she refused. Threatened me to say they will be going to court on Friday, 1/20/2023. They attempted this same scam 2 years ago. When she knew, I was not going to pay she hung up on me. NO reputable collection agency would do that. Additionally, they tried to contact another family member yesterday on 1/17/2023 via automated message stating do they know me.Company goes by the name Mediation Account Center.Initial Complaint

I continually receive phone calls from Mediation Account Center trying to locate my ex husband, divorced 30+ years ago, and who has been dead for years. *** told them repeatedly that he is dead and I have zero relation or knowledge given we divorced over 30 years ago. *** demanded they remove me from their database and any association with him. Now, when they call, and I begin asking the questions, like, what is your callback number, they just hang up. I was texted that I needed to contact this company Account Mediation Center. When I first called, the lady was rude and said that charges would be filed for check fraud from an alleged loan that they say I got in 2015. I hung up on her and called back and spoke to a ****** who explained that there were 2 complaints against me from payday loans from 2015 (payday loans are illegal in my state as of like 2010), and they had all my information (which can be googled) with an employer of (..) which is a business I created in 2022. Said that I had to make a payment for the balance of $1410 and approved for a discount of $1010. I almost fell for it, but he refused to send any information and I have never gotten a loan from EZ Money and dont even know who they are.Initial Complaint

On or about 12/29/2022, I recieved a cold call from Mediation Account Center stating that i need to clear up a debt from 2015 that I failed had no intention to pay a bad check. They stated that they were representing ******* and that they could settle the debt with out going to court for $960.00. They had personal information and told me that the small claims case was on file with the Monterey Court House. After calling the ******** Court House, there is no such case. I spoke with one representative, *******************************, who was extremely rude and condescending. I requested to speak with a Manager, and was transferred to a ******************, who was even more rude, and accusing. I requested documentation to the validity of the ***** and they both stated that it had been sent numerous times. Re: Mediation Account Center I have been receiving harassing calls and messages regarding a 2015-2016 loan that Mediation Account Services said that I have with *******. I disagree that I have a loan with them. I asked them to provide proof and they kept saying that they were going to take me to court that I refuse to pay. I asked them to provide documentation that I owe this loan with a breakdown of all the fees and dates - They refused to provide any type of documentation. They have my personal/confidential information such as my name/ address/ date of birth/last four digits of soc sec number that I mistakenly confirmed. They wanted to settle from $750 to $450 and they wanted my debit card information. When I told them I was not going to give them this information they threatened again to take me to court. Its very upsetting and I hope something can be done about this harassment. A consumer has the right to confirm a debt is theirs or not. MAC continues to call me from several different phones numbers and harass me about a June 15, 2015 account with Easy Money Loans (account# ******-806). I have never used any such company. I have advise them to remove me and that the claim sounds like a scam and I was hung up on or spoken to rudely. MAC states they have mailed my documentation but this is false. They have past and current addresses my date of birth and I feel like this is a breach of my privacy. They threaten that I will be taken to court for an $810 balance that is now $1,210.Initial Complaint

I received a call and voicemail from this company from a ****************** instructing me to call them today. He said that I have been flagged as evasive and non compliant. When I called back I spoke with a man named ****** who informed me that I had taken a loan prior to 2015 when you were employed by xxxxxx, OR xxxxxxx from a company called EZ Money in the amount of $600, and now with penalties and interest the amount of $1,310 is due immediately. After explaining to this man multiple times that I have no knowledge of this matter and that I am requesting complete documentation, he became increasingly frustrated and repeatedly interrupted me. He told me that the only way I would get any documentation was to establish a payment arrangement and that he knew all the details and that I have had plenty of time to take care of this matter. I explained one last time that once I had received the documentation I would contact them to advise them of my intentions and I was told,thats not the way it works.I ended the conversation and disconnected the call and immediately went online to research who this company is and have seen multiple people with the same complaints, all with the same time frame and same company that they supposedly took a loan from. This is straight up harassment.I regularly check my credit reports and I have not seen anything from this company or from the **************** that they claim I defaulted on a loan from. This company needs to be investigated by the *** and any other agency that handles this type of fraud and harassment.Initial Complaint

12/30/22 SPAM Alert-MAC (Mediation Account Services) calling/threatening text messages re a loan with EZ Money (2015). I have never had a loan with these people and they are threatening with a judgement against me. They refuse to provide any type of documentation and yelled at me when I requested proof. Mediation Account Center called me on 12/28/2022 at 11:55 am stating I owed $500.00 for a ** LOAN CORPERATION from 2015 in *********. I have never barrowed a loan from this company in person or online. I called the ** LOAN service number and they have no recorded of a loan under my name. I asked Mediation Account Center for the Declaration of Debt from ** LOAN and the so called legal team rep hung up on me. This is a scam Mediation Account Center wanted me to pay the $500.00 or go to court. Ill take the chance to go to court. There is no ** LOAN on my credit report.
